About Sapporo Liverpool
Sapporo Teppanyaki restaurant Liverpool is on Duke Street in the heart of the city centre and offers authentic Japanese cuisine. From Sushi and Sashimi to Steak and Soup Noodles.
We are more than just a restaurant that offers a range of amazing food, we offer a truly memorable dining experience with our talented Teppanyaki Chefs, who will not only prepare you a fantastic meal right in front of your eyes but will entertain you as they do it. Our Chefs will juggle eggs, set fire to their Teppanyaki hot plate, slice food in midair, show off their knife and throwing skills, plus much more! Come and try our two course Express Lunch menu from £5 or our two course Early Diner menu for £16.50 including a drink.
Your table will have its own chef so you will be able to see them preparing your food. Japanese food is famed for its healthiness. We use the finest chicken, beef, duck, fish, pork and vegetables to ensure that you have the best dining experience possible.
If you’re out and about in Liverpool, Monday to Friday between 12 noon and 2pm, pop into our restaurant for our famous Soup Noodles. Enjoy a generous bowl of Chicken, Chilli Beef, Seafood Tom Yum and many more for only £5.
Within our Liverpool restaurant we can seat you at our bar area for a more traditional environment to enjoy lunch in without the distraction that comes with our full Teppanyaki experience.
We are ideal for parties, couples and family occasions. We have a variety of Japanese cocktails and whiskeys, not forgetting our traditional Sake! In addition with western beers, wine, champagne, spirits and soft drinks. We have a fun, warm and friendly atmosphere, this combined with our healthy and delicious food, creates a dining experience that you will never forget.
Brilliantly entertained my 5 and 6 year olds, and really understood about my boys sesame allergy. HIGHLY RECOMMEND FOR FAMILYS!!! I have set the atmosphere low, as we were literally the only diners.
Great restaurant. We had the early dinner for £17.50 for 2 courses and a drink. There was plenty to eat and the server was very attentive. I do not agree with adding a service charge to the bill....if you want an extra 12% you should clearly include it in the prices on line and on your menu and state that service is included. That was very annoying!
Had a family meal, we sat at a table with the chef cooking for us, was really looking forward to it , the atmosphere at other tables was very good with chefs doing their performances. Ours was very poor and disappointing, he just flipped one piece of potato to each of us, that was it, and just cooked the food, the rice and veg went cold because it was put on plate, while waiting to long for him to cook food to accompany the rest of it. We did enjoy it, but our chef needs to learn from watching what the other chefs are doing, and have food ready together, not in drips and drabs.
The only problem I thought I was disappointed in was the space we had to eat we was all squashed up together 5 people on 1 said was to much that was the only sad thing about it
The service was impeccable, our host for the evening was friendly and chatty and made us feel at home. Our server had "seabass" on his overalls was unbelievable and managed to create a fantastic atmosphere even at the beginning of Jan on a Monday night!! Very impressed
Fantastic way to celebrate any occasion Great food and great chefs - thank you
As always a fantastic meal ate here twice in the last 4 weeks and look forward to returning again soon!
I have eaten at the Sapporo before so I was surprised and disappointed at how poor the service and food were. We ordered the "deluxe" banquet so were expecting some great Japanese treats. Instead we got mountains of fried potatoes and rice and hardly any proper Japanese food. The service was poor - it was difficult to get drinks and we waited almost 30 min for desert (which by the way was two scoops of ice cream and you are only allowed one flavour). The total bill was over £60 a head so this was extremely poor value for money. Never again!
We booked a table for 7:15pm and they didn’t start cooking our meal until 8:30pm. Our starters arrived cold, my daughters meal arrived cold. The service was slow the tepanyaki chef was good but wasn’t as interactive as previous times we have been. Left feeling disappointed.
Fantastic food and great. Loved the entertainment and atmosphere.
Absolutely fantastic, chef was great with my two kids and it was their first time here! They have not stopped taking about how amazing it was to have their food cooked in front of them! Superb 10/10
We booked for new year. Our table was cancelled without warning as I hadn’t paid a deposit, when I called to pay I was told a voicemail was left, which I never received. We therefore had to sit at the bar, with our four children. The service was shocking. We got our starters within 15 minutes and then had to wait 1 hour 30 mins for our main. During this time, up to 50 people who were waiting for their tables to be ready were standing around our table, watching us eat. My sons class was spilt and shattered. I had to clean this up and a complimentary drink was not offered. We asked for the desert menu and didn’t get it, so ended up just paying and leaving. The first time I came to this restaurant was before I had a family for my 21st birthday (15 years ago) and is my favourite restaurant in Liverpool. I was really disappointed and have never seen it this Badly managed before. Won’t be rushing back in a hurry.
Fantastic place! Truly entertaining whilst at the same time being delicious. The fish dishes I had were gorgeous and cooked to perfection in front of my eyes. Kids at our table found the whole atmosphere brilliant. Only slight negative was the wait. We were booked in at 4.45 but didn’t eat until nearly 6.
Email I sent to Sapporo the morning after our visit (as of yet still not had a reply) Good morning, I’m writing regarding a visit to the restaurant yesterday for a table booked under my name at 20:30. I’m really not happy with the service me and my girlfriend received. I appreciate that Saturday night can be very busy for the staff and wouldn’t want to add additional pressure but I still feel really let down by the service. We had a drink at the bar before we was notified to take our seats, it was overall 40 minutes before we had our first course. Everyone else on the surrounding table had their starters but ours was forgot, I know this because there was two bowls of our onion soup on a table close to ours, and was only brought over 10 minutes later when the staff realised we were the only ones not eating. The main courses were delicious and it was really fun watching the chef at work, but then we faced a similar problem with desert, not having ours when everyone else on our table had one. When we paid our bill at the desk we were asked if everything was okay, my girlfriend explained all of the above and we didn’t even receive an apology. Again I’m sorry to raise a concern on what I’m sure was a busy night, but we came on our 3 year anniversary and both feel really let down considering the amount of money we paid.
Came for Christmas Day and really cant fault the place and certainly couldnt fault the food except to say you're already near full by the time you start you're main meal! Fantastic food.
Food was lovely, no complaints. Restaurant was not overly busy but service was poor. Had to ask to order drinks on every occasion and it took some time for drinks to arrive at our table. We paid a deposit at the time of booking the reservation which was not deducted from the bill. When this was addressed with front of house they had an attitude. In a nutshell, lovely food and entertainment but poor service.
Ordering drinks was very slow & a few times we had to ask to be served with more drinks.
Brilliant night! Chef was amazing, kept us entertained. Food was out of this world. Will definitely visit again and would highly recommend to anyone.
Loved every minute of it!
Can’t wait to come again
Went for my fiancé’s birthday and both enjoyed the meal and the show that every server puts on!
Great atmosphere for Christmas Day Food amazing Only issues were we had to ask for our complimentary glass of champagne, and service charge automatically put on the bill even though there was only 2 of us.
Regardless of anything else, I asked for some help proposing and although the music I requested wasn’t able to be played, the staff helped me in other ways to ensure my now fiancée said yes and I couldn’t be happier :)
Very good food and an amazing show for everyone
Absolutely disgusted the other table opposite us got a lot of the chefs attention he hardly spoke to us and gave them adequate portions our party of 10 where served last and got the scraps poor service this time around and I always come here it’s one of my favourite restaurants I was very disappointed in the service last night.
