Wine Kitchen & Larder
Wine-driven restaurant in Dalston offering a kitchen menu of seasonal small plates that are created to support our evolving exploratory wine list alongside a larder menu consisting of a curated selection of lightly cured meats and fish and a seasonally driven cheese selection.
Wonderful relaxed vibe, delicious food, excellent & interesting wine list, friendly knowledgeable staff.
Nice setup and atmosphere, attentative and friendly service. Food was good but didn't stand out from other modern European small plates.
Wonderful place. Great food, great service and atmosphere. Really interesting menu which changes regularly so as locals, we will definitely be making this one of our favourite neighbourhood restaurants.
The food, drink and service was absolutely amazing. We were dining to say goodbye to some friends moving from Dalston to Hong Kong (!) and it really was such a perfect send off. Delicious, unusual wine list and some amazing British produce. Will be back.
Our meal at Sapling was a delight from start to end. The food was delicious, well proportioned and interesting. Staff were highly personable. incredibly knowledgeable and eager to help and make recommendations. The space is a delight- chic, contemporary while being warm and inclusive. We can't wait to return.
Lovely place, food and staff, definitely coming back soon.
Outstanding creative but uncomplicated, delicious food. Not one disappointing dish. Great, unpretentious hospitality. Really good vibe and feel to the whole place. Fantastic.
Great evening trying some lovely wines alongside delicious food
Always a lovely evening. Great quality food and an amazing selection of wines.
Drinks very pricey. Service friendly but slow, Food was very good
A really stunning place. The wines are just delicious and so interesting - and the food is on a different level! I had read the review in the Evening Standard and wondered if it would live up to it - but actually it surpassed my exceptions. Will definitely be going back.
Amazing food and place!
Lovely independent new wine bar in Dalston with stylish decor. We really enjoyed the tapas style food from the menu that changes every four weeks and uses seasonal produce. Amazing selection of wines! And the staff is very helpful and friendly. We will definitely be back for more!
Interesting selection of wines, excellent food, great service and cool design. Well done!
First time I've been and loved it, the food was fab and loved the wine options by the glass, planning to come back soon.
Lovely place - interesting wine list and simple but very flavourful food
Waiter was very knowledgeable on the wines and the food was brilliant. Overall experience was amazing. Best new restaurant I’ve been to in ages!
I had such a great time at Sapling, the food and drinks were outstanding. I was so happily surprised with the sheer quality of it all, from the dishes, charcuterie and cheeses to the wine and fizz. The service was excellent and I could tell that the whole staff from kitchen to floor was in tune with what they’re offering. There was a great atmosphere and I wouldn’t take anything from them... everything was pretty much perfect. Nice one, Sapling is a very nice addition to this street.
Incredible wine recommendations and the food was just perfect!! would make a recommendation but the menu changes fairly regularly, which to me is definitely a plus!
A fantastic meal with super attentive and helpful staff. Great music too. playlist was so good!
My wife and I had a great time. Really nice ambiance. Felt pleasantly relaxed despite being quite hip/fancy. Fantastic food; the beef tartare and smoked salmon were incredible and we loved that a lot of it was sourced locally, and from great causes. Lots of elements had a heart-warming story! The service was excellent. Had a lot of laughs with the chap serving us, who made us feel very welcome. 2 very small detractors; 1) The welcome was a bit slow/ we weren’t acknowledged for a while. I think because you’re either in the restaurant, or behind the curtain, it makes the whole entrance a bit awkward, particularly when staff are busy doing other things. 2) the food was a touch slow to come out but it was the first night and we were too busy enjoying ourselves to worry. Plus, it was made good with a dessert; which wasn’t expected. However, an all-round great experience. We already plan to go back. Definitely recommend Sapling!
Superbly interesting wine list backed by great knowledge. Rare wines available by the glass. Food is precise with some great local touches, such as the sublime secret -smokehouse salmon. The interior is unusually well designed and catches the eye of passers by. All this is available at more than reasonable prices. Hackney is blessed.
Food and wine were good and the athmosphere was pleasant. Will definitely recommend.
