About Santo Remedio
Santo Remedio is a popular Mexican expression, which means Holy Remedy. We chose this name because Mexico’s food is so central to its culture, that it is considered a remedy for almost any problem. We prepare regional dishes from Yucatan, Puebla, Mexico City and Baja California made with Mexican ingredients like cactus, grasshoppers and Cascabel chiles. Many of the dishes we cook use traditional slow cooking techniques to give them a rich, deep flavour. As such we are a member of Slow Food.
We are proud and excited to share with our customers the true cuisine of Mexico. We hope that for those who have been to Mexico already our food evokes wonderful memories, and for those who have yet to go that it will inspire future travels to this fascinating country.
Fantastic venue for our team Christmas party. A great atmosphere and a fantastically decorated restaurant! Will definitely be returning.
I was incredibly impressed with my groups feast at Santo Remedio. I organized a feasting bottomless brunch for 18 people on a Sunday and we were given an entire area for ourselves upstairs. The service was amazing, as they willingly waited until most of our group arrived before starting our two hours of bottomless drinks (and they were NOT watered down at all) and they were cheerful, helpful, and always willing to refill and make suggestions throughout the afternoon that we were there. For the food and drink, we were really impressed with the quality (approved by 4 Californians and 3 Mexicans) and the guacamole and pork tacos were particular standouts among the dishes. I would 100% recommend this to anyone missing Mexican food or who wants to try excellent Mexican food. It is great for large groups but, being split between two floors, would also be a great place for fewer people. Thank you so much, Santo Remedio team, for an amazing Sunday feast!!!
Great staff. Delicious food and generous drinks! A great afternoon spent at Santo Remedio
We had a great table, great service and lovely food. We especially enjoyed the octopus and pork tacos with a particularly nice bottle of red.
Really nice Mexican restaurant, good atmosphere and service, the food comes across as very authentic as well. Not cheap but it is high quality.
Quite possibly some of the best food I have ever eaten.
The food is amazing, especially the fish tacos The staff are incredible, helpful and friendly and hired someone to teach the customers about day of the dead, which was fascinating Have been before, have recommended to all my friends and will keep coming!!
They serve some of the best pork belly tacos. Tasty dishes and attentive staff. Always have a good time going back to Santo Remedio
Great food and wine
Had another fantastic meal at Santo Remedio. It's fast becoming one of my favourite restaurants. Food exceptional, people exceptional, I need nothing more!
We were very well looked after, the food and the drinks were truly delicious (thumbs up for the classic margarita!), the service attentive but also friendly and warm, and the atmosphere was great! What else to ask for??!! Well done and keep it up, we will be back!
Amazing restaurant, amazing food, amazing drinks and very good service! Will go back soon!
This is great tasting food, something special, a place to go for a real treat but also just to meet a friend after work
great place went for a pre theatre meal service wa great food delicious good vegetarian selection
Fantastic food and service. Incredible complex dishes with authentic Mexican ingredients.
Good food and atmosphere, service kind but not very quick, due to the kitchen. Slightly overpriced in my view.
Amazing food - my new go to Mexican restaurant! Could happily eat the same dishes again and again.
We ate on the upper floor, very nice decoration and good atmosphere. The food and drinks are phenomenally tasty!! The kitchen forgot about us for a while but that was resolved after we talked to the manager and the wonderful dishes arrived. The best Mexican experience I have ever had in Europe.
Decent food but not worth it for what you pay. Most overpriced guacamole I’ve ever seen. Also may have been an off night, but the service was very frustrating. We had to ask at least twice for every item we ordered.
The food was not well cooked and guacamole was very salty. When pointed out to the waiter, we told it must be the chips. Other dishes were dry and without flavour. And no chilli sauce to go with anything!
Excellent food and service. I’d definitely recommend it
Reservation was canceled even after writing in to notify as a special event, we had to walk around for 20 minutes before a table was ready for us. Somehow not canceled was the order of prosecco or wine I asked to choose and pay in advance for as a gift. We were then awkwardly stuck with the most expensive bottle that we wouldn't have picked otherwise. Never received an apology for the service and was actually blamed for missing the booking until I was able to show the email confirmation on my phone. Felt like the restaurant was only interested in taking our money not kind service.
Delicious as always :-)
It was an incredibly disappointing experience. We were really looking forward to visiting after hearing positive feedback. The service was friendly and helpful but a tad slow. The starters came out lukewarm. The main sticking point however was the portion sizes. 2 enchiladas which weren't particularly big are priced at £15 with no side dish. 3 lamb chops for £16 with no side dish. Even the dessert, the chocolate tarte, was small in size. These are not competitive prices against similar places. I will not recommend this given the really poor value. Really disappointing and surprised on the back of generally positive feedback.
