About Samsi Japanese Restaurant
Samsi opened in April 1993 and is located in Manchester City Centre. Since then, Samsi has been serving authentic Japanese food using fresh, premium ingredients and plenty of care with the aim of providing a fine Japanese dining experience for guests.
The vegetable yakisoba was a bit underwhelming but the sushi was excellent. The staff were very friendly and accommodating (we were in a bit of a rush on the way to the Palace Theatre).
Great service from Luis and Amazing food for great value
Great food and service.
2.5 out of 5. This place appears to have changed hugely in the several years since I have been. Food was average at best, with some being worse. Starters of octopus and seared tune average at best. Tempura was good. Skewers where chewy. Sushimi / suchi was average, and some elements not good. Service was friendly but confused. We had two waitresses trying to take our order very soon after sitting down with little time to think. We asked for food to be delivered separately so we could take our time but everything came at once. I find the addition of an automatic service charge Arrogant. I asked for this to be removed and it was, we then ripped in cash after checking the waitresses would get it. This used to be a belter of a restaurant, but based on my last visit it isn't anymore.
Loved everything about Samsi and will definitely be going back. Food was delicious, as was the personally recommended new in Japanese wine (sorry carbon footprint). Staff were so welcoming and even gave a surprise song and free dessert for my partner's birthday. I want to go again now!
Very good food!!The service was great, the atmosphere wasn't bad
Lovely food and atmosphere. My colleagues and I really enjoyed our time in the restaurant.
Very pleasant experience, not having tried Japanese food before I was greatly impressed and would recommend the lunchtime menu
Good food, great staff.
Excellent food, excellent service and excellent price. 10/10 perfect!
Great food, good value set menu
Took a little effort to get a drinks order and food order in, but other than that, service was great. Food was excellent, we definitely over ordered as some of the portion sizes were differing from item to item in regards pricing. But over ordering is always better than under. Well be back soon
Didn’t like the background music,
I enjoyed my time at Samsi, the servers were very friendly and food was great. Would be quite happy to go again and recommend to friends and family.
My guests (a small group, but from all over Britain) were very impressed.
Had a lovely, enjoyable evening. Great food, friendly staff - we would like to visit again.
Very dated, in need of a refurbishment, especially the toilets.
A great irthdaymeal for my daughter and I. Very well looked after by the attentive and friendly staff, who all wished my daughter a happy birthday. And even a song! Food was absolutely delicious in this little hidden gem, and we will be returning soon. Very reasonable prices too. Thank you. David
What a wonderful place. Everything about it is excellent.
Had a group booking, the service and food were really good. Staff were very friendly.
Lovely food and loved the set up of the premises. Attentive friendly staff but just a little eager to remove your diahes at times. Overall a very nice evening at Samsi.
Great food & great atmosphere!
The food was lovey and well priced for the city centre, well sized portions as well. Most of the staff was great, but we did encounter quite a bit of rudeness from a higher positioned member of staff on three occasions. They also added a service charge to the bill, which we would not have left considering we weren't happy with the service overall, so would not visit again considering we did not have any say whether we'd like to give a tip or not. .
