About Samphire Whitstable
Samphire is a Kentish Bistro firmly established within the Whitstable restaurant scene. Our style of food is simple with emphasis on great produce. We are proud to showcase the best seasonal ingredients sourced from local farms, allotments and producers in our regularly changing menus.
The prices are too high (more expensive than similar places London) for the food served. The food is good and the service is excellent. The door is quite often left open by customers which creates a bit of a draft.
Pleased in all ways. Best Mackerel I've ever had too.
Fantastic and inventive food, lovely charming restaurant and brilliant staff. Would definitely come back
Waitress was excellent- credit to the team.
Unfortunately the food didn’t have the usual wow factor, but nonetheless still a nice meal.
good food and terrific service, as always. Love this place.
Fabulous meal with really friendly service. Wish we lived closer to be able to make more frequent visits!
Super food and atmosphere!
We visited from London to take my mum out for Sunday lunch. All three of us had the Sunday roast and it was absolutely delicious, one of the best roast I’ve had in a long time! Very good quality ingredients and cooked to perfection. The service was excellent and the wine delicious, thank you all
We visited Samphire for brunch on the first Saturday in November. It was surprisingly busy, even on a wet and windy day and with the Rugby World Cup Final on at the same time. We were pleased we had booked. We had Eggs Benedict and Eggs Royale, both of which were superb and the coffee was also very good. Service was excellent, prices were what we expected and we had a very enjoyable experience.
Excellent all round
Such a lovely and delicious evening!
We had a really nice meal, it was all very fresh and tasty. I didn’t realise when booking that there was a set menu but the mussels and fish pie didn’t disappoint.
Great service, very friendly. The food was delicious, melted in your mouth! Yum.
Have visited samphire a few times but not for a while as previously good food, excellent wine and friendly helpful staff
I can’t wait to visit again!
Delicious fresh fish and cockles! Tasty options for kids too. Great local restaurant
Great restaurant. Good quality food.
Lovely visit, lived up to the hype. Tasty and interesting food, lovely service.
We have visited on two occasions The lication is lovely and close by, however breakfast first time was not good. The poached eggs were cold, avocado too much and not enough bread. The other breakfast was sausage and bacon on toast and neither was cooked properly. We headed back for another visit and this time the food was much better. My eggs forester was good and my son’s scrambled eggs on toast good. My partner doesn’t like eggs, so she asked for an alternative and the waiting staff did not offer an alternative option. She ended up having toast! This was dissapointing!
Charming brunch spot with very attentive service. Would recommend and visit again.
Samphire is on the High Street but there is a car park just around the corner. We had booked for lunch, welcoming staff, we all ate from the excellent and varied set lunch menu the chef obviously takes great care in selecting the ingredients, all our choices were delicious and such good value. A thoroughly enjoyable experience would not hesitate to recommend.
An excellent dining experience.
Fabulous restaurant with unusual dishes but all the food is amazing
