Welcome to Sakushi. Established in 2007 we are one of Sheffield most established restaurants. We have won numerous awards for our restaurant and national awards for our delivery & takeaway service. Including Best Japanese In the UK.
Took my gf here for her birthday and we had a lovely time, all the staff were very accomadating and the food was so fresh and tasty. We came back the day after and will definetly be regulars

So glad we found this place. Low key, no frills restaurant serving great Japanese food. The staff went out of their way to make sure we had a great evening. We’ll be back and would recommend

The food was absolutely delicious, and very authentic, staying true to the history, and culture behind the cuisine. I highly recommend the Miso Soup, and the Seaweed! The menu had plenty of vegan/vegetarian options, so I was very content! Dan was our waiter for the evening, and we honestly couldn't have asked for a better waiter! Dan was very prompt in bringing our food, and refills of drinks when we asked. He was very friendly, and made lovely conversation with us. He even left us a nice 'thank you' message on our receipt. Overall, I would highly recommend Sakushi. If you are very familiar with Japanese food, you will definitely appreciate Sakushi, or even if you are new to the Japanese cuisine, there is something for you too!

Atmosphere dampenedbecause covid precautions meant (a) far fewer sit down spaces (b) many of the spaces are in one corner of the premises. Above is difficult to rectify, but restaurant was a bit cold - partly due to the front door opening frequently for delivery drivers.
Hi Alan, Thank you for the feedback. We agree, the positioning of the tables is a hard thing to alter, as we do have to meet Covid-19 guidelines, however we have done our utmost to ensure this doesn't affect service. We do ask drivers to close the door to keep the warmth in. Next time if you request table 25 it will be further from the door and closer to the heating unit. We think this would make you much more comfortable, plus you'd get a sneak peak into the kitchen to watch the team preparing the delicious food! We look forward to your next visit. Sakushi was really good, the staff was very nice. Not overpriced at all and a very nice interior with little booths.

One main course dish was slightly delayed but this was compensated with an apology and 50% off the dish.

Sakushi always offers excellent food, and attentive (without being overbearing) staff. Happy to see that the current restrictive conditions have not changed this. Although the conveyor was out of service for obvious reasons, everything on the menu was available, and was quickly and expertly prepared to their usual standards. As mentioned, the conveyor was off, the tables were suitably spaced, and the staff were visibly maintaining the public recommendations - the kitchen area is visible, and we were able to see that the same was applied there. I highly recommend Sakushi, both here to strangers, and personally to friends.

Thank you so much, we very much enjoyed our meal and service. Sorry for you guys having to deal with the rude male customer who totally ruined the atmosphere at the very end for us too but you handled it very well. Deffo a keeper, be back soon :)
Lovely food as always, I couldn't wait to dine in again after lockdown! The new vegan menu is excellent. Sakushi never disappoints on food or ambience.

Very disappointing as usually it’s a great experience but when I was unable to order 90% of what I wanted due to the chefs not wanting to use different oil due to my allergies, it really decreased the enjoyability. Won’t be coming back for a long while.
Hi Sara, Thank you for taking the time to send us some feedback. We are sorry your allergy prevented you from having some of our dishes. I am a little confused by your feedback we only have one type of oil on site so the chefs do not have an alternative they can use so there would not have been a question of not wanting to use another type. If the issue was that we only have one fryer the chefs are not able to empty a 200 degree fryer and put new oil in as it would not be safe to do so. If you would be able to email me with more details I would be happy to look into what provisions we could look to do in the future. Our chef and staff were simply being and honest with you as possible to protect your health. Yours The Sakushi Team
It had been a while since I been to Sakushi, I always remember it being really good, but I do believe there has been some changes, which I understand is normal for businesses. The sushi I have no complaints about, it was nice and fresh. However the service could have been better. As takeways are very common with restaurants, it felt like there was more priority on takeaway orders then restaurant meals. Our food seemed there was a longer wait. I would also say It made the restaurant seem more like a takeaway when you go for the dining experience, with drivers coming in and out, also leaving the door open did make it a bit cold, our table was more near the front of the restaurant. Overall, I would say the food is nice but there could be improvements in other areas such as service.
Hi Jenny, Tho you may see takeaways leaving they do not take priority order are done in the other they come in with the restaurant and dine in customers taking president and generally being moved forward. We appreciate the drivers are not ideal but currently with the restaurant capacity being a third of what it was we are having to deliver in order to continue. First time visiting and loved it! Great menu and veggie and vegan selection, definitely reccomend.
Main issue I have are the lack of covid-19 measures. No staff not wearing face masks unacceptable at this time or maintaining 2 meters. Tables not clean and condiments obviously not wipes down, the flies seem happy with it however. The appearance of the restaurant was poor with tables moved to create a makeshift staff office. Prior to covid-19 they had daily 50% off midweek promotions, there appears to be nothing in place beyond 10% loyalty discount, with the same prices despite the 15% VAT drop this no longer demonstrates value for money. I won’t be rushing back, even though food met expectations management seems to have dropped this place like a stone, its atmosphere now is just depressing.
Food and presentation of the food was excellent and service was great but the atmosphere felt awkward as there was no music on and we were sat on the table closest to the kitchen and toilets when there was no one else in the restaurant so felt a bit strange. Other than that 10/10
