Excellent venue, great service and the food was excellent.
Really enjoyed! Will be back next weekend!
Had a great evening for my sons 21st. Thank you. Food was fantastic
Our first time going to Rump and Wade. We went on a monday and was not aware of the 2for1 main meals until we were their so was nicely surprised and obviously fantastic value for money. The food was lovely. We were served by four different people throughout the night, who were all very friendly and helpful. The last member of staff looked to be a manager, dressed in a suit and had a name tag (unfortunately i did not take note of her name), and my misses asked her a couple of questions about the building to which she was very helpful and pleasant to talk to. Overall it was a very nice place to go to eat and i will definitely be coming back!
We had to pick up family from the airport. Their plane was delayed. We called up the restaurant to explain that two of our party will be on time but the rest of us would be later. They were very understanding and told us they would push our booking back for us. The evening was very enjoyable with lovely food and drinks.
A lovely restaurant with beautiful decor. I have been three times (once for dinner and drinks, and twice for brunch) and the food has been great each time! I would recommend! A couple of times I’ve waited a while for food / the bill which is why I’ve given 4/5 for service and it’s not exactly cheap (although not too expensive either). I love it and will be back again!
Awesome Sunday roast, glass of Merlot and a flat white. All perfect. Excellent service too.
Sunday roast was excellent
We had a great stay at The Cromwell hotel and enjoyed breakfast and dinner at the rump and wade. The staff were super friendly and accommodating. The good was great quality and really tasty and we thought it was great value. We had a lovely time and will definitely return.
Staff were friendly and very helpful we had a great evening
Great service, friendly staff.
First time visiting Rump and Wade, and was a great experience. Food was really tasty and good value. The staff were excellent and the food was served in good time. Will certainly be visiting again!
A very enjoyable meal which was excellent value. The dining room was very comfortable with a nice atmosphere. I will be dining here again
Catalog of poor service means I cannot recommend this establishment. Booked for Mother's Day evening, and was subsequently asked to provide a deposit, despite this not being made clear during the booking process. However this in itself is not a huge issue. Upon arrival we were presented with a shortened Mother's Day menu containing less than half of the normal menu, limiting people's choices. Again, this was not made clear during the booking process, nor when paying the deposit in person. This would have influenced our decision making on where to eat, but we had little choice but to accept the shortened menu upon arrival as it would have been difficult to get a reservations anywhere else at short notice on Mother's Day. Venue was less than half full throughout, so volume of customers certainly was not the rationale for a shortened menu. Food was satisfactory with the exception of the roast beef which was tough and served with burnt inedible potatoes and parsnips. This was reported to table staff who essentially shrugged their shoulders. Positives were that drinks we served rapidly when asked, and the deserts were very good. Very disappointed about the lack of transparency over the use of a shortened menu, necessity for a deposit after making the booking, and disinterested staff.
I'm very sorry but I brough's my Wife and Son on Mother's Day and was very disappointed with the Food and the Service. Both were very poor after hearing some positive feedback and I wouldn't recommend or visit the Restaurant again. Regards, Mr Ian Gray 07768 505864.
Fantastic food. Polite staff. Very nice restaurant. Only bad thing, was the fire alarm went off for 5 mins and no staff told us what to do or apologise. Everyone just sat there. Wondering if there was a fire lol. Other than that it was great
Booked a table for a joint birthday , staff couldn’t do enough for us and we had an incredibly relaxed and fun evening . The food was fabulous and the staff really were amazing . Thank you
We would both have liked to see more choice of salads on the menu. We would have chosen the fish sharing platter but there was chorizo in the fishcakes and one of us doesn't eat meat. We are dieting and were very good by not having a dessert but had we wanted to there was a limited choice. Coffee was lovely.
Beautiful steak, cooked exactly as requested. Cleared the plate......
Service was very poor on the evening, considering there was a manager on the floor watching over everything she didn’t seem to notice our empty glasses /water and wine bottles at any point during the night, we asked this lady for water glasses and was told the spare wine glasses were sufficient. Our waitress Amy later on in the evening swapped these for us. We waited at least and hour for our main meal so rather hungry and felt like we had rushed the food down rather than enjoyed it. All waitresses were polite however seemed to busy to cover all tables efficiently.
Service was good but could have been slightly more pro-active - i.e. checking to see if everything was okay with the food before coming to collect the empty plates. I especially appreciated the young waiting staff for once not calling us "guys" or saying "no worries"! Food was good with the exception of the chips accompanying the battered haddock - these appeared to be of the frozen, from the supermarket variety and I expect more in an establishment such as yours. The Salmon was beautifully cooked - hot right through but not remotely overcooked.
Very disappointed with the food. Fish over cooked and served with oven chips not home cooked. Very disappointed. The food didn’t match the decor!!
As always another fab meal & evening at Rump + Wade. It was Burger night + a free drink, such good value for money. The food was amazing, never had a bad meal there & cooked to perfection. All clean plates. Service was great too, always there to help nothing to big or small to deal with. Staff were friendly chatty & all smiling.
We had a fab night on Saturday. We were a large group and were well looked after. A particular mention to Tom who did a great job and in great spirit!
it was a very enjoyable meal, one of our favourite places.
