About Rub | Burgers & Shakes
American inspired Burgers & Shakes restaurant, originally called Rebels’, renamed Rub in 2018. Feeding your inner ten year old with #EpicFood served in a party atmosphere.
great food, great atmosphere, great price :)
Given a table next to a speaker , so noisy ! Menu not our taste despite being a great menu before recent changes . We didn’t stay , we left without ordering. Staff friendly though just needs a little work and turn the music down a little
Always loved the old place glad it’s changed back and will always return
Had a fantastic meal at rebels tonight! Booked a table for 5 adults and a special little birthday girl! 6 tomoro! The staff was amazing with her, we popped in beforehand to put balloons and banners on the table and as soon as we were seated the birthday girl was offered a milkshake all our meals were fabulous and we even got a couple of meals we couldn't finish boxed up for later . The 3 members of staff all came to our table with a sparkling dessert for the birthday girl and sang happy birthday to her! What wonderful service! BRAVO REBELS, take a bow!
The staff are amazing and the food is back to the standard we have always been used to welcome back rebel’s x. X
Lovely food, great service, and great presentation of the cocktails!
Amazing food as always! Glad Rub food is back :)
We were quite disappointed in this restaurant. For a restaurant that is specialising in steak, my steak was extremely chewy and not at all what I was expecting. Not good value for money either, side dishes of chips and vegetables are charged seperately and we expected to get more for our money. We won't be going again.
Great food with prompt service.
Visited for the first time last night the food was delicious, staff attentive, we all thoroughly enjoyed it. We’ll definitely be back.
My family and I visited snap, this Saturday lunch time. We were impressed by the decor but tables did seem very crammed in where we were seated. To the point where the table next to us were clearly listening to our conversations. The beef burrito was very reasonably priced at £5 and was very tasty but wasn’t sure about the rubbery texture of the actual Yorkshire pudding wrap unfortunately. I would have preferred it to be crispier. My partner ordered the steak frites and it was ok but not very filling for the £10 it cost. The children’s options were great but extremely overpriced. It was disappointing that we didn’t qualify for the kids eat free promo because we didn’t order of the ‘main’ menu when what we ordered were similar prices. The sharing Creme egg browning desert was absolutely gorgeous but very expensive for £10 (it was just one scotch egg size, cut in half). So overall, the options were good but unfortunately too over priced for what we got. Think I would return but wouldn’t rush to.
We visited here after purchasing gift vouchers for Rebels which were honoured at this restaurant. We both ordered the flat iron roast dinner. I ordered mine medium rare as recommended however it didn't work for the piece of meat. There was fat running through it which hadn't melted and so it was chewy. The bits that were more medium were delicious. We were given vegetables to share between 2 and when the waitress brought them out she seemed embarrassed at the portion and offered us more. The pot included 4 carrot batons, a spoonful of peas and some kale. Definitely not enough vegetables for 2 people! The price was ok however it is only fractionally cheaper than the Westwood which serves the best steak going and which is a much nicer restaurant inside. If I was going to pay £60 for a couple of fillet steaks I would rather be fine dining at the Westwood than sat in jeans at Snap. But that's just my preference. Drinks were expensive...£7.50ish for a pint and a soft drink. Overall we enjoyed it but won't be rushing back.
Difficult to comment on atmosphere as we were the only table in our room at 5pm. Environment food and service were all great though
Food was delicious although when looking at the menu, it was very pricey, which would prevent us from going as often as we'd like. The staff were lovely and it was a nice atmosphere for our valentine's meal out.
Second visit to the new Snap restaurant. We arrived earlier than we had booked and it wasn’t a problem seating us early. Good service and lovely food
Service excellent, food ok there could be a larger selection of meat, having said this what no back ground music.we were served was excellent. We went on the 14/02 and where surprised that there was
A rebranded Rebels Smokehouse; makes sense that they've largely kept the interior the same given the turnover in bars and restaurants in Beverley in the last year. Service was good and food tasty though portions might be on the small side for some. We had what I guess is the evening menu (different range of options for lunch?) which didn't offer a huge range. It's a personal preference but I'd rather have seen the belly pork starter more well done and have the chips / fries served without salt so you can add your own if needed. They were too salty for me and my wife but we don't add salt to home cooking so really noticed it
Retaining my vote as best local eatery & prime (cut) candidate for overall favourite, the food here may have changed radically for 2018, but the quality is still as high as ever. While the menu is developing, so far it's got some proper scran to get stuck in to.. & while SNAP is a steakhouse, the range of lighter options for brunch (up to 4pm) is a definite attraction for less formal gatherings. Loved the rarebit starter... Crispy kale.. It's a thing now! Flat iron was flavourful, & ribeye too.. Dripping fried chips.. OMG! Rebels is no more 😔 Long live Rebels Hail to the new king, SNAP!!! 😃
Very nice food steak can’t fault it but portion of steak could have been a little bit more to make it value for money
Excellent food and service would highly recommend
Great simple menu all the food is done well I think they need to take a little more care with the vegetarian options to make sure it is still a quality meal Service time needs to be looked at to make sure there is a better flow of courses coming from the kitchen , there is a lot of staff in there Overall and enjoyable experience I would go again I do send my regards to the chef for the blue steak And a special mention for the waiting staff who were very personable
Great service, even better food! The Diane sauce was to die for!
Came for a big lump of meat, shared the porterhouse with my wife and was not disappointed. The service was fantastic, the meat was cooked to perfection, the beer was delicious. I will be coming back.
Great food great service by Nicky and the waiter from new Zealand very friendly both of them . And as a man who knows and enjoys his steaks your were second too none Me and my partner look forward too our next Visit. Amazing
