Availability
We enjoyed the night the food was great but it was hot stuffy and poorly ventilated, under the then current COVID arrangements you should be risk assessing the likelihood of infection spread, checking QR code use and single household status and arranging tables 2m apart or with mitigation, 1m. Before reopening I think you need to review your controls!
We requested a high chair for my daughter as part of our online reservation. On arrival we checked this and were informed by the waitress that they don’t have them, due to the uneven floor. A courtesy call to advise would have been appreciated. Also the tables were too close to observe 2m social distancing
Menu looks "pub grub", but done in a high quality way. Service was efficient, despite a very busy evening (last night before lockdown)
Last day before lock down again ,can't wait to do it again
Great pub great food
We have eaten at Royal Standard for many years but we have noted a significant improvement in our last 2 visits over the already good standards. Recommend food highly especially the pork belly.
Thanks so much for a lovely experience. Service was a bit slow to start with but we loved the Fish and Chips / Burgers. Totally yum food, well done to chef. Beer was not great, Becks + Cotswolds lager tasted stale with not much gas and no head. Still my favourite pub. Thanks
Fantastic venue and best pub grub around. Ambiance was superb. A really cosy and romantic luncheon with very friendly staff. Big thumbs up!
The food was excellent again, the atmosphere is fantastic due to the elegant medieval styling of the rooms and the giant open fire, the staff are so attentive but not invasive and also so Covid aware. What a great lunch we had!
Amazing beautiful pub, cosy fires and fabulous ambience
Thought the roast was a bit average, compared to your pies which we thought were amazing when we visited 3 days prior. We also were asked to share 2 Yorkshire puddings across 3 people because you had run out, but we were not offered any kind of recompense in return for this compromise (e.g. a free side) Service was good natured and friendly otherwise. Cauliflower cheese and cabbage sides were uninspired The potatoes seemed like there were reheated and weren't as crunchy as a result The venison and the beef meat seemed a little bit lacking in flavour. The Rumbledetumps and the Bread and Butter pudding were good
It was our second visit and we will be back. We've recommended you to friends who live near Henley.
Our waitress (shoulder length dark waivy hair and glasses, had an accent was brilliant. Made everybody (including the people around us) feel very welcome.
Lovely time as always!
Overall amazing. But a mix up on on the main coarse resulted in long delay, but apart from that all good. The take home sticky toffee pudding not so good, dry and a little tasteless. Missed the heat and the sauce.
Atmosphere and food was amazing sat right by the fire it was perfect
Every staff member was very polite and welcoming. We felt very safe with the Covid measures and hope to be back there again soon
Quiet - but unsurprising given the curret rules. Had a nice meal.
The best pub in Beaconsfield by miles. The food is always good and perfect comfort food.
Whitebait and garlic prawns as starters were superb, the pork belly was moist and succulent with a crispy crackling topping, highly recommend.
a delightful visit the food was superb. ambience great , felt safe. can't wait to go back again in the new year
Great team.
Food was only ok not great for the price. We had a Sunday roast which was far to expensive. I’ve had much better for cheaper in good pubs in the Chilterns! The drinks were also very dear. Glad I went to see the place but I don’t think I’d come back. Sorry just to expensive.
Very enjoyable lunch. Service was excellent.
Extremely cold, food, we had roasts, hardly any veg, very chewy lamb all covered by an enormous Yorkshire, no mint sauce, blah blah
