Royale, a 136-seater all-day-dining restaurant wows with its striking baroque style finishes and furnishings. The comfortable and cushy seats are upholstered in off-white leather accented by gold studs.
The eatery has intimate booth seats for two to four diners
and semi-circular banquet seats that can easily
accommodate groups of six. At Royale, the all-day dining menu features both western and local favourites created by Executive Chef Nicholas Sia. There is something to satisfy every craving.
choice of food is limited for the price paid.
My husband and I booked a staycation at Mercure Bugis for one night and had lunch at Royale just after we checked in. The variety of food is lesser compared to the other hotel buffets in Singapore, and the frequency of food replenishment is extremely low. While we were there, some dishes were just left with a few pieces (e.g prawn on ice, cooked prawns, pork ribs) and there was no top up even till when we wanted to leave.
Very good service
The sashimi is not fresh and got fishy smell. The food selection not much, the black pepper crab very small size even NTUC crab is much bigger. Fruits selection very limited too and how much does fruit cost. A bit disappointing for the price $68++ even M hotel and Mandarin hotel almost the same price have better and nice food selection. The lunch price and selection is much better.
Made a reservation for 6 at 6pm, but was told that dinner only starts at 6.30pm. Then in the first place shouldn’t have any time earlier than 6.30pm as selection. Made us waited for half an hour outdoor before allowing us to go in. And it’s not value for money at all, food is bad. Real bad. Even Buffet Town fair better. Will not recommend and go again.
Most of the dishes are great - chilli crab, satay chicken, durian pengat, laksa, la la Mee hoon, etc taste really good. Bak tut teh temperature can be made hotter. We are not served with chilled or warm water, maybe, there were a hot water pot with tea and coffee provided.
Pleasant experience for family dining. Decent spread with quality food.
The lunch buffet under DBS is value for money. The time is appropriate ie between 12noon n 3pm n hand that there is complimentary parking for customers who drive.
The acoustic was bad. So noisy . Full of old grandfathers and grandmothers talking loudly and echoeing even though we were seated at a corner. There was no sound proofing. Food was very limited. Dishes were cleared only when I stood up and asked for a waiter to come. No finger bowl to wash my fingers after eating crab. No tissue or napkin offered [I had to use my own wet wipes]. Never again !
Food taste delicious & the pork rib is very soft & tender. Seafood is fresh. Food replenish is slow. Only 1 choices of soup? Overall nice dining experience with The Royale.
disappointed as most of the food are not hot.
Good to have little more variety of dishes
Heartwarming dinner gathering with ex-lecturers and classmates....perfect venue for catch up...food was great...love durian pengat..fondue...sushi variety etc
Food was below average. Tandoori chicken was dry & tough, dim sum was tasteless rubbery hard, laksa fried rice was dry., cold cut has a smell like it’s been out for a Long time. Even with 1-for-1 I wouldn’t go back. If you want tasty food, this idle not the place. If you just want to stuff your face with anything, you can come here.
dessert could have been better and DIY rojak's gravy should be thicker.
The spread of the variety is good and the atmosphere is comfy.
Food variety was pathetic. There is even no local delights like roast duck, pork and chicken. Usually hotel buffet offers two type of soup but it has only Sichuan sweet and sour soup which is very salty. Overall experience on the food was boring, nothing excites me.
The hi tea was great
I tried the fish n apple soup in earlier visit and was looking forward to it. However over the past 7 days, the soup remained repeat of either herbal soup and tom yam soup. In view fish n apple soup is popular, the cafe shd have it more often. Otherwise the service was good. Thank you.
Value For Money
Overall, we had a good experience but perhaps you can look into offering more choices for vegetarians. My friend who is a vegetarian only had salad n cakes. Also, there were 3 types of prawns but not enough f cooked food choices. There was cereal prawns, cold prawns, bamboo prawn. If you can improve, we will certainly return. Thanks.
Nice, comfortable surroundings. Food was good and fresh. Sashimi station was a pleasant surprise. Definitely will bring my family here again!
A nice place to dine with my friends , they liked the food too.
Lack of food and have to ask manager if they will still be serving food. Food server staff is inattentive, looks at phone both times that I made my order and I have to call out to him repeatedly. Service staff Jan Son is very nice and polite. Disappointed that my reservation Nor my request was recorded at all. Thank you.
Would be good to have more selection of vegetarian food and more cold drinks
