About Rotunda Bar & Diner
Diners can enjoy our all American menu with dishes to suit those just after a light bite or with a healthy appetite! Weekly comedy club every Friday & Saturday evening. Dinner & ticket packages available.
Very pleasant staff. Food ok but not outstanding.
Disgusted ! We got refused entry as there was a comedy night on. No dinner for my 12 year old daughter and Rotunda doesn’t even have the decency to reply to any messages with an explanation for this!
Dined here as it was close to the venue we were attending a concert at. Thought it would be a lot busier but not so. Found out later that they stop serving food early on a Saturday night as it doubles as a comedy club. Food was good, service was exceptional. Will go back again
Not sure I would go back
Food was served cold. Chef appeared angry when waitress returned the dish to him. Felt like it had been through in the deep fat fryer when it eventually returned. Overall meals had the feel of being cooked and prepared during the day, and reheated just before serving.
Food was very greasy - fishcakes not crispy, and were sodden with grease, not pleasant. Chicken was dry and over cooked. Fudge cake was quickly warmed in microwave, and had a woody/tobacco aftertaste. Disappointing overall.
I had Cajun chicken starter which was really just like chicken strips on a bed of lettuce, there was no spice to it at all & I had a prawn on the edge which must have fallen off someone else’s plate. Main was much better. Service was good although hardly anytime between courses.
Beautiful restaurant and the perfect pre-drinks and meal before the Noel Gallagher concert at the Sse Hydro. Made for altogether a magical evening that will be remembered forever. The use of the car park also made the whole experience so easy. We loved our food and everyone was really nice. Thank you so much and I will defiantly come back.
Lovely staff very accommodating and friendly and provided great service and the food was great too ! 😊
Place was packed. So glad we had booked. Man at reception desk seems frazzled but the rest of the staff were brilliant. Starters - sweet potato fritters were lovely. Main was supposed to be roast chicken breast and roast veg. It tasted lovely but the chicken breast was the smallest and flattest I've ever seen; I had 3 halves of small potatoes and what tasted like wilted spinich- no roast veg. It tasted lovely but was a bit disappointing as it was not what I chose and all the other meals I saw coming out were a Google size portion. Maybe I just made a bad choice. My friend had the chilli and said it was amazing. It did look very good. Would recommend the restaurant, just not the chicken
Not the best night to be honest. First time we went was fab but this time it was poor. I ordered a lager called shipwreck and it was terrible. Staff were pushed to the limit as under staffed. I would go back though.
Excellent place to grab a bite to eat before a concert x
Second visit as attending a concert, wish I known a kid's show was on to.Food not as good as first time my husband got prawn cocktail never had on toast before toast was brick hard.Main course mine was ok as i don't mind crispy batter once again my husband fish batter was so hard, not presented nice far to many chips.I did say to waitress when she asked how food was.Service very rushed feel bad as i had raved about it to my husband how good it was.
Food was distinctly average, music was blaring (we were the only customers...I'm sure the volume was fine when you're busy, but could be lowered when only 2 diners are in). I'm finding it hard to find anything I'd recommend to others...the parking for the Hydro was a bonus I suppose.
Don’t think I would return, over priced for what it was and adults ice cream was identical to children’s but double the price. Order was mixed up and we were charged for an extra main meal, so that had to be amended.
Depressing atmosphere with music. Starter came out literally 2 mins after we ordered. Chicken was like rubber . To be honest we couldn’t wait to get out
This meal was absolutely dreadful. The atmosphere was dire - although early, we arrived at 4pm for the pre concert menu, there were a few occupied tables. The room was dark and dingy and probably a fantastic venue for comedy but not so much for dining. The staff walked around like something from the Walking Dead - honestly no hurry or purpose or even a smile. We both ordered sweet potato fritter to start which were quite frankly disgusting- but hey ho this was our choice and maybe the second course would be better, or maybe not. My main consisted of a very overdone chicken breast with cold new potatoes and practically raw veggies. When the waitress enquired I advised her that my meal wasn’t great (I was being polite) she offered to return it but as we were going to a show we didn’t have time for that. We requested the bill expecting to see the meal removed. It wasn’t. I spoke to the waitress again advising that I wasn’t happy to pay full price then followed a full on enquiry at the till with 3 staff members which ended with the manager appearing at our table. Eventually the main was removed from the bill. Shocking experience and shocking food.
The food was truly awful. Our starter arrived 2 minutes after ordering. Not exactly fresh. My potato fritters were raw chunks of sweet potato in a batter. Disgusting. Our mains arrived 5 minutes later. Our drinks arrived last. The fish and chips were rotten. The service was deplorable. You were herded in and herded back out asap sonthey could turn over the tables. I saw at least two other parties get up and leave due to the awful service and food. The cost was extortionate for the seriously low standard of food and drink. Will never return and have already warned many friends from ever visiting. A disgrace. Pre concert this place is horrible. Better with burger and chips or pizza in the venue.
Our dinner took over an hour to arrive. We then had 20 minutes to eat two courses. No one could provide us with an explanation why. People who arrived after us were served ahead of us. The food was tepid when it eventually arrived. I would definitely not recommend to a friend. It was an awful experience.
Only had one choice of red wine, the Merlot. For a Bar and Grill the burger was a huge disappointment. Dry burger with lots of tepid , thin, tasteless chips. My friends Chilli con carne was better, tasty and presented well.
Having dined here previously, this was the worst possible, having booked for 6pm we arrived in plenty of time to be ignored as we entered the bar (we were not the only one's as more people were arriving they were left standing waiting as nobody seemed to be bothering to serve incoming customers) we eventually were seated after I had to stop a waitress to confirm my booking, we then had to wait to be served, which by 7.10pm we had only received our starter and a soft drink which took 20 minutes to bring to the table. We eventually were brought our main course at 7.15pm and considering the table was requested back by 7.30 it did not give much time to, I can only say eat our meal as it certainly was not enjoyable. Starter of chicken strips with dip, what can I say, over cooked and no dip just a drizzle of some kind of sauce then our main consisted of what can only be described as plain and bland burger with a slither of lettuce (classed as side salad!!!) and chips, not as appetizing as in previous visits (which have been a fair amount in the past) Quite a number of customers also questioned their bill as they were being charged for other people's food and had to wait for proper bill, luckily that was the only thing in our favour as our bill was spot on and brought to us quickly (pity the rest of our visit hadn't gone so smoothly) Needless to say we won't be hurrying back to this part of the rotundra in a hurry.
Starter of prawns was disgusting. Was sent back. Main course of chicken ok. Slow and poor service. Several waiters/waitress coming to our table with drinks that was not ours. Overpriced cocktails in a glass with no garnish. Very disappointing dining experience. Paid the bill ans left. Highly doubt I would return.
Service very good but food just ok, I had the vegeburger which seemed out of a packet and deep fried,a better quality vegeburger would of just made the dinner much better :)
Maybe caught you on a bad night..food was cold and average, service was slow and seating was very uncomfortable..was like being back at school dinners.
