Exceptionally friendly and efficient staff.
Our pre-concert supper was fine but nothing special for the price. Good choice of wines by the glass and carafe. Friendly table service. Nice lighting - you can read the menu and see your dinner but it's soft and warm too. I strongly dislike the large glass case of meat. As a vegetarian I don't want eat with the hacked up bodies of dead animals in plain sight. Disgusting. It made matters worse that when we asked to be seated where we couldn't see the carcasses and in response the host went on about how proud the restaurant was of it. Insensitive and disrespectful towards customers who don't eat meat. It would put me off a return visit.
Thank you for taking the time to write a review, we take all feedback seriously and this will be passed onto the wider team. Sorry to hear that you dislike the meat ageing cabinet, while we are a meat focused restaurant, we understand that this isn't for everyone. We are always happy to seat guests away from the cabinet or facing away from it. Apologies if this was not communicated correctly by the host on the evening.
I thought the vegetarian options were very poor and portions very small. In addition, the hanging meat was not pleasant. The bill was very high considering we hardly ate anything. On the plus side, the venue in general is nice and service good.
We are sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy the vegetarian options on the menu. Although we are very proud of the beef and lamb from our own farm and are a meat focused restaurant, we do strive to offer a balanced menu with fish and vegetarian/options too. We take all feedback seriously and I'll pass this onto the wider team.
Me and my sister visited to celebrate after running the London Winter 10k and had Roast chicken to share with bottomless prosecco. The service was excellent, staff were friendly and attentive plus the food was delicious. Only minor criticism is would have liked more veg with the roast such as broccoli, green beans or parsnips. We had a fabulous time and will definitely be visiting again!
Thank you for joining us, well done on the run - what a good way to celebrate! Your feedback has been passed onto the team regarding the vegetables. Thanks again.
I don't really like the cage of meat on display - off putting. I also found that the noise on Sunday meant that I could barely hear my companions. One table were making an excessive amount of noise, including screaming, and the manager took no steps to ask them to reduce the noise. That together with the music impacted significantly on my enjoyment of the lunch
Sorry to hear that you did not have the experience we would wish at Rotunda. Your feedback has been passed onto the wider team.
What a great place! Staff were amazing, we were given a really warm welcome by them all - food was excellent and atmosphere and surroundings lovely - I’d put on my booking that it was my sister’s 60th birthday - we had a brownie with a candle and the staff sang happy birthday - fantastic and really appreciated - a lovely end to the eve - we will be back!
Thank you for writing a review! It was great to host your celebration with us and we hope to see you again soon.
We ate at Rotunda prior to a concert at Kings Place. We didn't have a lot of time (1.5 hours before the show started) but the efficient service was excellent; we didn't have to rush and were able to take our time and enjoy the meal. The food was excellent and there was plenty of it (I couldn't finish all my main course). Look forward to returning.
Great to hear you enjoyed your visit to Rotunda. We've passed your feedback onto the team. Hope to see you back soon.
Lovely food and great service
We enjoyed our lunch. However, we noticed as we left that the menu said our roast lunch should have come with Yorkshire pudding - but 3 of us had roasts and no Yorkshires were provided! Odd, no?
The food & service was excellent across the four meal choices we made but, and this was only discovered part way through eating the mains, my daughter and I were given cold plates off which to eat the Cote de Boeuf. Not exactly £70 plus service worth hence the marking down. This was our first time back since the renovations were carried out and we were all very impressed with the less cramped feel to the space.
Great evening before the theatre. Great atmosphere and food.
Wonderful setting, the refurbished restaurant really works with the chefs cooking in full view. Interesting new menu and the wine list is different, interesting and good value.
Good for lunch time business meeting.
Excellent food and service - as always!!
An enjoyable meal
Excellent attentive service. The restaurant was pleasantly calm on a (perhaps not surprisingly!) quiet Monday night in January.
Set Pre Show menu did not have what i wanted eg the smoked Aubergine which was listed and is still isted on this web page.Service was very good and the alternative meal Steak and Mushroom pie very good.
With a large selection of restaurants in kingcoras recently I was a touch worried if this slightly off the main square would be any good. But very pleasantly surprised. Nice location, and interesting shaped restaurant that gave it a quirky feel. The food was great ( the Texan lamb rack delicious) and friendly service. Will happily return.
Very efficient and professional staff. We had the pre-theatre menu which was very taste, although the highlight was the sweet (which came extra).
Good to see non-standard dishes on the set menu. Helpful staff and good value for money. Very generous portion of sprouts. Liver was cooked to perfection
We had a great brunch, service and food was excellent! Could do with more music on in the day, some festive songs would have been great! Thank you, will be back.
Fabulous as always.
Now the Bar and Restaurant are no longer separated just one big semi-circle, it has encouraged a more noisy atmosphere which can make serious conversation difficult in the tabled area of the restaurant.
It was super busy full of Christmas revellers and we were there as pre theatre diners so not quite the night's target audience. We had non Christmas set menu, portions were small, food unremarkable, staff pleasant but understandably run off their feet so service was poor. Not really fair to judge it on that occasion and would be willing to try it again at a quitter time.
