About Roslin Beach Hotel - Afternoon Tea
Occupying a grand seafront location in Thorpe Bay, the Roslin’s immaculate presented fine dining restaurant offers fresh local cuisine in relaxed, comfortable surroundings. The Head Chefs demonstrate their creative flair with an inventive modern menu, capturing the seasons perfectly. The elegant restaurant occupies an ideal vantage point to view the comings and goings along Thames Estuary. With a large heated terrace to the front, al fresco dining can be enjoyed even throughout the cooler autumnal months.
It would be hard to imagine a more picture perfect venue to enjoy a quick mid-morning coffee or a well earn weekend away, whatever the occasion.
The Roslin has a four silver star rating and one Rosette Award from the AA.
The staff were lovely. It was very well organised as this was once restaurants opened from coronavirus. I have been to many afternoon teas in London & Essex but I was really disappointed by the chairs you sit in plus the dinning ware. Also when you have the sparkling afternoon tea no-one offers you tea also. It was 34C on the day we had afternoon tea so after you had eaten our sandwiches the desserts on the top we’re melted. I would also say the coronation chicken tasted like chicken & mayonnaise unfortunately. I came away feeling a bit disappointed to be honest as I organised this for my friends birthday & I've loved dinner here in the past.
The afternoon tea was lovely and so were the staff and we were sitting by the window so it was a lovely view had I been sitting further in the restaurant it wouldn’t have been so nice. I was brought a weekend afternoon tea for two gift card for my birthday but I don’t think I would pay £29 each normally so that is why I gave 3 stars for value
Great variety of sandwiches, scones and cakes. Really filling.
Excellent and Subtle approach to current distancing rules.
Lovely afternoon tea. Friendly helpful staff. Beautiful surroundings.
Sandwiches very good , scones average , top layer poor , truthfully glad I had a voucher as I wouldn’t have been happy to pay £50 . However , service good and atmosphere good ,
The afternoon was as expected , great . Both my wife and I and our two friends enjoyed ,the ambience ,service and food , al of which was superb . Many thanks .
Great service and felt safe dining inside with all the measures in place
I can't really comment on the value, as a friend bought the tea as a gift.
Fantastic service, staff are at hand but don’t crowd you. They all go the extra mile for Guests. Must be a lovely place to work because everyone is happy and helpful. The food is so good, better than the usual afternoon tea, with unusual Sandwiches and gorgeous little cakes. There is always plenty of food. Not My first, and not my last visit.
We enjoyed a delicious afternoon tea . The service was excellent, special mention to Joelle and Sharif who were very attentive and friendly - a great combination! We would definitely recommend The Roslin Beach Hotel
Fantastic afternoon tea to celebrate my daughter’s 30th birthday. Staff were attentive and polite. Nothing was too much trouble. Lovely atmosphere. Social distancing observed and full cleaning of tables and chairs between guests. Can’t wait to visit again.
Went for an afternoon tea. A beautiful setting with excellent service and quality food & drink.
Couldn’t wait to get back to the Roslin and the afternoon tea didn’t disappoint. Would have loved to go in the terrace afterwards but I know it’s hard right now
Firstly I understand not all areas are open due to works being done and Covid, but afternoon tea is much nicer in the tea room, not the large dining room where we were. Also what has happened to the scones? A third of the size! The deserts weren’t as nice as my last visit either. The extra glass of bubbly we had was charged at £12 a glass! So all in all not impressed! Our bill was £99! (Inc gratuity)
I felt we could've had a little more savoury food as it seemed far more "dessert based". That said the food was excellent.
Lovely afternoon tea, service was great couldn’t of gone any better! Was for mums birthday and she loved it!!
Excellent as always
Afternoon tea was lovely, great service. All staff very pleasant and attentive. Only disappointment was the price I paid for a glass of wine quite extortionate!
Great view over the estury. Atmosphere is second to none. It was a pleasure to come back. Good Social distancing and tables were well spread out. We always enjoy our Afternoon tea at the Roslin, and this was a welcome return after a very difficult time for them. Good luck for the future.
Had a christmas voucher bought for us which we couldn't use previously due to Covid. Surprised to find we had to pay an extra £3 on top of the voucher price, i'm guessing to to a price hike?
Very happy with my visit for afternoon tea at the Roslin. In these uncertain times I was slightly apprehensive, but greeted with hand sanitising stations and plenty of room between tables to keep social distancing. Food was great as usual only thing I missed was the mini quiche that you used to get with the afternoon tea.
Had the most enjoyable afternoon. Wonderful setting and super friendly staff. Definitely an afternoon to be repeated soon Thank you
Thoroughly enjoyable. Thank you.
A real treat after being in for so long. Service was friendly and efficient, but not obtrusive and food was delicious. Felt safe with the social distancing measures implemented and lots of hand gel available.
