Amazing food! Gorgeous pub!
The service was excellent and it es well organised re Covid. The food was delicious. Thank you.
The food, service and venue were lovely, it's just a shame there weren't many other diners to support local businesses.
Great service , amazing food and sensibly priced !! Will definitely return
Really nice visit would recommend, James was very welcoming and friendly.
A lovely lunch and felt very safe in these strange times.
Really enjoyed the food and service here - rate it well above any similar locals pubs. Thanks
We had a lovely meal, fresh food which tasted good. And lovely top Sussex sparkling served chilled. Highly recommend.
Very enjoyable. Atmosphere lacking due to COVID lunacy guidelines.
We had a brilliant lunch, and the service was excellent. Would highly recommend.
Flawless as usual
Perfect as ever :-)
We had a wonderful meal at the rose and crown tonight .
Lovely place, lovely meal, lovely service
Great sandwiches, looking forward to coming back and trying something else from the menu. Lower score on atmosphere as we were the only ones in the pub!
Just want to say that James and all the team at the Rose and Crown were absolutely fantastic, they put a menu together for us within our budget that just smashed our expectations. They accommodated everything that we asked for and were just really friendly and helpful through the whole experience. They really helped make our day and we couldn't be more grateful!
Really nice
We had a top class meal with great service
Appreciate it’s busy with having to serve everyone at the table. Friendly staff and Sussex goats cheese was so delicious!! Looking forward next visit in December.
We had a lovely lunch at the Rose & Crown last weekend. The roasts were delicious, meat very tender, couldn't fault it. Loved the fact the veg was organic. The staff were very friendly and the service was good. Just one thing to note - the tables could have been a bit further apart for social distancing. Will definately visit again!
Went for Sunday Lunch had the Roast Lamb. Amazing food and the Mint sauce is so good.
Excellent food, good sized portions and great service
Really nice weekday lunch! "Covid-safe"! Nice food, nice atmosphere, and friendly service.
Shame I couldn't have the pie of the day I liked (Steak) because the one remaining portion of Game pie had to be sold first but this wasn't to my taste. At 53 years of age I HAVE tried venison and I didn't need to be patronised by a waitress half my age, as if I were a child who needed to be cajoled. Not a great vibe. I loved the fish dish I ordered instead, but the irritating comments linger longer in the memory.
Probably the worst Sunday Roast I have had in my life. The potatoes were so hard as to be inedible, the broccoli barely cooked and uncuttable, the Beef was riddled with gristle and fat, and the bits that were not were as tough as an old boot. There were 3 of us, and we all left at least half of our food. My Mum normally takes some home for the next day, not this time. We complained, but got nothing more than “we’ll tell the chef”. No tip obviously, but should have at least given us free coffees or something, then I might not have written this...still wouldn’t ever go there for a roast again even with something off. Appalling.
