The seafood dishes were excellent
Our third dinner at Room81 was just as memorable as the first two - the tasting plate menu which has replaced the previous degustation style was varied and absolutely delicious. Our favourite was the cauliflower - divine! Excellent service by very friendly and knowledgeable staff made for a great anniversary celebration dinner.
We ordered the 3 course meal. Love the entree, drinks and desserts. I didn’t like the main meal.
Overall a very nice experience
Food portions are way too small even for tapas for the price and wine is very expensive. Food was tasty but each serve was 2 mouthfuls for around $22-$26.
Tapas style menu is a good idea, although took a little getting used to. All food was good especially the fillet steak.
Efficient and attentive Wait Staff.
Amazing food, we will return.
Quite disappointing after having high expectations. As the only only restaurant on the GC with 2 chefs hats, was looking forward to something special. Room has no character/ambiance and is significantly affected by noise from there bar area. I had expected a tasting menu, but the menu has changed to tasting size plates sold individually. The waitress was misleading when she said that they plates were made for sharing - the are definitely only suitable for 1, they are "tasting" size. The other thing that was misleading was telling us that 4-5 dishes would;d be sufficient. Perhaps she meant per person, as this is what was required. A tasting experience is better suited to pay9ing a set amount fort all courses, charging $16-$50 for a tasting dish focuses dinners on the cost/value of each dish.
Dishes were too small for sharing- barely get a good taste. Felt the meal was a little over-priced.
Lacking in atmosphere, over-priced for food quality. Don't believe the hype.
It would be nice to have a tasting menu back as an option as I feel it’s somewhat more expensive ordering dishes individually now. The food and service continue to be very high quality however. Especially good was the nice wine pairings suggested by our waitress, they complemented the food nicely, thanks.
Possibly the best meal I've ever had. Truly amazing.
The meal and service was spectacular. Mikayla our waitress made the night extra special.
Waitress was perfect- very knowledgeable and charismatic.
delicious and inventive menu - lovely service by all wait staff. it would've been a nice touch to have the chef pop by and say hello.
A must for quality food that takes you on a journey from start to finish. Matched by quality staff it is a must do when visiting the Sofitel Broadbeach.
The service was great and the quality of the ingredients was sensational - 9+ marble rated wagyu, excellent swordfish and lamb. Unfortunately the restaurant is on the driveway near reception. It's not the location for a fine dining restaurant - the ambience is horrible for the amount of money being spent. As mentioned the ingredients are exceptional in terms of their quality but the menu tries too hard and doesn't show the quality of the food. The masala drowns out the lamb as does the apple and avocado with the swordfish. Let the food speak for itself. Unfortunately won't be back.
Loved the food, all was high standard, very helpful and prompt service
We were overall disappointed with the food, the heirloom tomatoes were tasteless, but pretty. The veloute was excellent, lamb was very good. The beef was chewy, it had sinew through it and that should not have happened. LL & B dessert was excellent, Burnt earth was ok. Food came out too fast, we felt rushed.
Very Poor Value for money. 5 course degust for $99/Head was absolute rip off.
New taste experiences, delightfully pleasing.
It’s always a pleasure to dine at Room 81 as the food is always excellent
