In our restaurant we aim to offer our guests the very highest standard of service, fine dining and exclusive wines, to ensure your visit is one you will cherish for a long time.
Excellent afternoon tea. Great selection of scones and cakes. Sandwiches maybe could have had more variety. Brioche open baps were a little dry
The food was delicious and well presented. The staff were attentive and service was great. We even had a table looking out towards the fountain which was beautiful. I had my wedding here and every time I come back I cannot fault anything. Great staff and food!
Everything about this hotel was amazing!
Service started off great. Starters and mains were delicious. We asked for a short pause after our main before we ordered dessert. The restaurant got very busy and it seemed we were forgotten for approximately 30-40 mins. They did eventually get round to us and apologised but the wait was quite long. We did however enjoy the atmosphere and the food was exceptional. Overall a lovely treat for my husbands 30th birthday.
Amazing food and service. We will be back!
Everything was excellent, fab service
Service was very good, and staff were very friendly and courteous. Food was outstanding.
Excellent service and afternoon tea
Absolutely lovely afternoon tea. Staff were fabulous and very attentive. Thank you
Wonderful service in a fabulous setting. Food is always perfect and very helpful staff. We will be back again. Thank you.
Room too cramped. Staff not attentive enough. Unexplained service charge on bill without permission.
On special offer so good value for money. Wouldn’t like to have paid full price. The afternoon tea was good not sure the brioche open sandwiches worked and scones not freshly baked ? Champagne, cakes and service faultless. Although there was a table that needed clearing from breakfast ? next to ours think it should have been cleared.
We had stayed at The Rookery before, in October 2016, and fell in love with the hotel. We wanted to replicate the same sense of quality and value for money when planning our weekend away but unfortunately, our second visit was a let down. The Maitre d’ service that was here two years ago has been made redundant, the buffet selection is replaced by a sad and simple continental spread, and the services were diabolically slow. We had no butter on our table and by the time it was brought to us the toast was cold. Our pot of coffee didn’t come and when the breakfast finally arrived it had the wrong eggs on. We ordered black pudding but didn’t get any. We ordered the same breakfast the second day, only to receive it reduced in proportion. It was a great disappointment and we are sorry but we have no reasons to return here again because the quality has fallen below satisfactory.
Very friendly and helpful staff great location.
Wir haben einen Afternoon Tea gebucht und waren sehr zufrieden. Für 25£ gab es leckere Speisen in einem schicken Ambiente. Der Service war auch freundlich.
The venue and gluten free scones and cake options were very good but the service was non existent. I had to get up and find a member of staff several times and the server knew nothing about the teas on offer.
Lovely afternoon tea for two
Need to be more attentive to the customer. People including us had to 1. Go and find a member of staff 2. Ask for their tea or coffee. Didn’t get a chance to ask for more cream as got fed up of waiting. Bit of a cheek when you automatically charge a 10% service charge! Was going to write a trip advisor but staff were pleasant when there.
Very attentive staff once seated, after initially having to seek out staff on our arrival. Food was delicious; fresh and plentiful.
We came for an afternoon tea which was excellent. My personal preference would be to have more savoury and a little less sweet but had a lovely afternoon. Thankyou
My husband and I loved our stay at Rookery Hall; the suite, including the spacious bathroom, was wonderful and very comfortable; the staff were friendly and helpful; and we thoroughly enjoyed the three course dinner in the dining room. We were also delighted to encounter a fox on our walk through the grounds.
Good variety of fillings on the sandwiches - 5 different kinds - and the mini bagels were a nice touch. 2 different scones with jam and cream; a mouse desert and then 4 different cakes. Especially good value on the 2 for 1 offer.
We had a lovely afternoon tea and enjoyed sitting on the terrace in the sun afterwards
The desert and service were very good, as was our afternoon tea earlier in the day. Unfortunately our mains and starters were very salty, to the point we were unable to enjoy our meal. My husband had fish cake to start which was too salty and I had pork belly which again was far too salty.
