About Rookery Hall Hotel & Spa
The Restaurant at Rookery Hall is renowned for its 2 AA Rosettes and is perfect for modern British food. To us, dining is all about taking excellent local ingredients and preparing them with care, creativity and respect – we believe the results should be as tasteful as the surroundings. Rich wood panelling and decorative latticework adorn the walls and ceiling, whilst large bay windows offer stunning views of the grounds and countryside beyond.
Head to the Drawing Room to put up your feet with a good book, freshly brewed coffee or light lunch. By day, the room affords peaceful views across the grounds and by night it is a cosy place to unwind, not least because of the open fires. It is the perfect place for sampling our afternoon tea, featuring homemade scones, fruit cake and, for some extra sparkle, a glass of Champagne.
In these stressful times, my wife and I thought we'd like to relax in a local hotel that we've often seen, but only rarely visited. We had a delightful afternoon-tea in the most comfortable of lounges with views over their beautifully manicured gardens. The staff were most attentive and we would highly recommend this experience to all our friends and relatives.
Excellent alfresco dining experience, service was excellent, staff very friendly. Thank you.
The staff were lovely and we had a lovely afternoon. Felt safe and secure in this COVID world and the property was beautiful!
Lovely afternoon tea treat
Unfortunately there was a table in front of us with a women who complained and cried throughout our meal..she ruined the atmosphere for all and the poor staff who dealt well with her pathetic outbursts were fantastic 👏
Over half an hour wait for some nibbles to go with our drinks. Club sandwich was thin (hovis) type loaf bread with packet chicken! Chips out of a packet. All very cheap ingredients and poorly presented.
The team were so helpful and thoughtful.
Extremely pleasant afternoon tea for mother daughter & grand daughter.
It was a lovely lunch and we were impressed with the social distancing measure, which helped us to relax. Thank you!
Loved the whole experience from the moment we arrived the service and the staff first class thank you
f a b was nice 2 revisit will be back soon
I would recommend the Champagne afternoon tea, beautifully presented and delicious.
Beautiful location for a lovely afternoon tea
We really enjoyed our experience We look forward to our next visit soon
Lovely option for a delicious afternoon tea in the area
Beautiful venue, great food, lovely staff. One of the waitresses was very loud and so so friendly but seemed way too loud. A bit in your face and asked if we had any dietary! Dietary what? Needs, requirements, wants? It would have been nice to finish the sentence. You could hear her ask everyone and go through the same routine. Just seemed that too abrasive and unnecessary. It was a bit embarrassing some how. When you walk in to a calm room then have this loudness. Other than that it was beautiful. Maybe a gentlemen's lunch would be nice to offer also. Less cake/ sweets and more savory. Little pie, sausage roll, pastie kind of thing. But over all really lovely and BV amazing value for money on the offer.
Lovely 3 course Sunday lunch yesterday. The staff are welcoming and attentive and nothing is too much trouble. Great wine selection, beef cooked to perfection and a beautiful view of the grounds from the dining area. Would definitely visit again
My wife and daughter enjoyed their afternoon tea. My only concern is that the visit was booked 8 weeks before the event and when I phoned to check the day before there was no record of the reservation. Feedback from friends suggests this was not an isolated incident. I should have insisted on email confirmation at the time.
Always a lovely place to visit and nothing was too much trouble for the very helpful staff.
We thought the dining room was a bit too dark.
Delightful afternoon tea served in beautiful surroundings by friendly and attentive staff. Well done!
A lovely Afternoon Tea!! Beautifully presented and tasted wonderful. The staff were efficient and attentive, thanks very much!
Service is friendly but sometimes a bit inefficient - no bread first evening, had to ask twice for menus. Food is very good but the selection on the a la carte menu is a bit limited for the price. Breakfast is great !
It was a cold day but the welcome was warm and the food delicious. Very enjoyable afterwards.
