We went for lunch and the a la carte was not available, only limited lunch menu. The haunch of venison was tough but the only other main course were fish cakes and coq au van. The venison on the a la carte was loin and would have been more tender but was not available. The starters were better. A valuta and a risotto. There needs to more choice if the restauraunt wants to attract a lunchtime clientele.
First visit but would certainly go back again. Wonderful all round!
Lovely brunch in a relaxed atmosphere.
Fantastic evening and wonderful food. Tasting menu was amazing
One of the best meals we have had in some time. Lovely staff and amazing food as well the lovely setting. Many restaurants nowadays pack in too many tables and consequently leave you so little space that any sudden move, such as lifting a fork, needs to be done in unison. Not so at Ronnie’s, where we had a beautiful table upstairs with space around! A lovely evening was had by all! Many thanks!
Another delicious lunch at Ronnies. The coq au vin was cooked to perfection and was served with a wonderful selection of vegetables. Service was delightful. We look forward to returning.
I have to pinch myself from time to time that a restaurant this special exists in Thornbury - the meals are always superb and the atmosphere is relaxing and welcoming. This was our first Supper Club visit, which was very good value for a delicious three-course meal. Thanks to Simon for looking after us so well - and the photography tips!
A great place for a celebration. We had the tasting menu. It was fantastic from start to finish, with lots of extras thrown in. A really good evening.
This was our first visit to Ronnie’s and we chose the tasting menu. We weren’t sure what to expect but actually, we are all agreed that it was a wonderful surprise. Each course was beautifully presented, with subtle contrasts and cooked to perfection. We had a lovely evening and look forward to visiting again!
First visit. It was busy and quite noisy and service a little slow due to shortage of waiting staff but that was explained to us when we arrived so we were happy to bear with it. Food was excellent and we will certainly be visiting again
Great food as always
We had a lovely evening. The food was excellent and the staff warm and friendly.
Good menu knowledge from the waitress. Amazing food
The atmosphere and service was great although very long gaps between each course, 4 hours for any meal even with 5 (small!!) courses is too long. Unfortunately a bit disappointed with the food, bland in places overpowering in others. Desserts were delicious.
Cousins in town for a rare meet-up! Ronnie's 5-course Luncheon Tasting Menu for six. Lovely welcome; wonderful service but the food... Oh the food was to die for! Every course a delicate combination of fascinating tastes, perfectly cooked and presented. Two hours of pure delight. Cousins want to move to Thornbury. Top notch Ronnie! Many thanks
Enjoyed a Supper Club meal on 14 November at Ronnies. Plump mussels in a delicate cream and white wine sauce were an excellent starter. Steak and chips main course was superb, steak was outstanding. Dessert of spiced sponge with ice cream followed by very tasty petit fours and coffee were a wonderful conclusion to the meal. Wines were surprisingly good and the overall value was stunning.
Very friendly and welcoming, excellent staff and service, lovely setting nothing was too much trouble would recommend a visit. We will be going again the next time we are in the area.
A lovely meal with family. Faultless service and great food but I was surprised at the disabled loo-cold and not at all clean (used by staff?) and used as storage. Sends the wrong message. Also it is unusual to have to walk past staff relaxing after their shift on the way to the door-for the kind of money you pay at Ronnies it’s not what you expect. Things have slipped a bit since the early days but Ronnies still serves the best food in The area.
Very good service from your polish waitress. The scallops were lovely, but the belly of pork less so.
Ordered salmon then told no salmon available..ordered glass of Sauvignon Blanca told none available...waitress should have told us what was not available before we ordered ordered.. dull surroundings...needs updating..
Beautifully cooked and presented food. The addition of canapes and appetiswrs was a lovely touch. Very professional and knowledgble waitress. We chose a quiet evening but had a superb meal.
I only ever make critical comment on the service as Ron knows, one day the front of house will get it together I hope.
We had a lovely evening meal. We had the set supper club menu. Very pleased as everything looked and tasted fantastic.
A fantastic venue for a big family party - food was exceptional as was the service. Nothing was too much trouble. Had a tasting menu and wine flight - made for a really fun evening and exceeded everyone's expectations. A great selection of interesting wines and fresh seasonal produce. Brill was amazing. A relaxed and very special evening -just what we were hoping for.
