About Ronaq Restaurant New Waverley
We are proud to announce a spectacular new venture in the heart of Edinburgh’s £150 million New Waverley development, which is currently transforming the city’s Old Town.
Ronaq, which first opened in Edinburgh three years ago, is expanding its chain of restaurants into a stunning glass-fronted corner site linking Cranston Street with East Market Street, just yards from the Royal Mile.
The new venue includes a large ground-level bar leading upstairs to a stunning first-floor dining area seating up to 90 people, which is almost completely surrounded by floor to ceiling glass panels providing magnificent views across the Waverley Valley.
We have designed the restaurant to take full advantage of the views across Edinburgh, combined with a varied menu serving the best in contemporary and traditional Asian cuisine. It’s an amazing space bringing together the best of Edinburgh, both old and new, and we are looking forward to literally lighting up the Old Town.
So what sets Ronaq apart from every other Indian Restaurants in Edinburgh? Definitely our passion for cooking and providing great tasting, well-cooked, and brilliantly presented food.
You’re invited to choose from an extensive menu that has something to please all taste buds. For those who prefer Masala to Madras, there are plenty of options to choose from. Our menus have a wide choice of vegeterian selection to choose from. Our chefs are extremely proud of the specialties, offering you innovative cuisine that has been inspired from throughout South Asia.
Using spices and herbs from different regions, Ronaq welcomes you to discover the exciting and delicious taste of cooking styles from across south Asia. Whether you like authentic Punjabi home cooking from Lahore in Pakistan, Kashmiri cuisine, flavoursome Indian dishes or Bangladeshi specialities, our chef’s will deliver it perfectly to your taste.
We welcome children of all ages and will be more than happy to provide high chairs where needed. Our menus include a children’s section too and we will always go out of our way to keep the little ones happy.
If you are searching for an Indian Restaurant in Edinburgh that offers you exquisite cuisine in a contemporary atmosphere, we’re a company that believes that an excellent meal isn’t just about the food, although that is extremely important. It’s about the experience too.
Beautiful restaurant,I did ask for chicken tikka pathia but just got plain chicken. Then only one rice came when we ordered 2. Just felt service could have been better.
Food was excellent but cost of wine very expensive
Very good Indian food in city centre at reasonable prices, good location and atmosphere.
I visited early on a Sunday evening and the restaurant was only moderately busy when I left and the atmosphere quite quiet really as it's fair sized dinning room. The service was very good, the staff friendly, efficient and professional. I enjoyed the food and it would be difficult to find any fault. I thought the prices were very reasonable.
The food & cocktails were absolutely delicious. Would highly recommend. The restaurant was also very lovely.
Went to Ronaq for dinner for my boyfriend’s birthday and when booking the table I asked for something complementary which we didn’t get 🤷🏽♀️. The food was okay but I wouldn’t hurry back!
Very good value
Food lovely, some staff helpful, good location
We enjoyed our Hogmanay meal in Ronaq. Good food, service, ambience and location.
Meal was very good, but staff treated me and my partner like we didn't belong there, it ruined our experience of the restaurant and food after hearing high things from the friends who had been before. Staff took nearly 10 minutes to get our order and then took 20 minutes once we finished our meal, which was basically flung at us. Will not be returning.
The Special Curry is worth a try. Thoroughly enjoyed the evening.
The food is really nice.
All staff were very accommodating and didn’t ask us to calm down seeing as there were 8 of us. Great food definitely go back.
Beautiful Surroundings, Friendly Staff, Very Authentic, Perfectly Cooked Indian Cuisine. Fairly Priced. Best Indian meal I have had in years!
Fantastic value lunch menu, great food & fab choice. Could not believe the price- fixed £7.95 pp!! Could have done with one more server based on the number of diners as they were run ragged. Would highly recommend though and we will go back.
It was very busy the night we visited, which maybe knocked a star off everything for me, but was to be expected on the date. The food was pretty good, but please don't cut up the nan breads - we are not children!
Really good food, location and service
Second time here a d really enjoyed it again.
The staff was friendly but the service let's it down to slow to take orders then waited long time before first course came maybe hour + after taking order and the second order came 10 minutes after we finished eating are first order. We didn't leave the restaurant till 22.50ish considered we came about 7.35 as we got lost and had to wait for table before we got seated which was about 8pm but are table should have been ready for 7.30 since it was book couple of month's ago. Don't like been rush but not this slow didnt think we would be in a restaurant the whole evening other then that food was lovely was a bit cold as we were in the far corner and my chair kept tipping over the edge as the floor drops as there is about 5ins not level as it came to the window abit of a drop that's not good
The food is great and it’s a lovely dining room. We had a long-standing reservation on busy night, and I felt that we were greeted in quite an offhand way, which was quite a contrast from my previous visit. The service at the meal was efficient. Portions aren’t that big; the chicken tikka was more like a starter portion, but all tasted very nice. The wine was good too.
The food is excellent - well prepared and good quality. Very good service and staff will advise if undecided on what to choose.
Lovely food, attentive service and good value for money
Portion sizes for starters too small
