About Ronaq Restaurant New Waverley
We are proud to announce a spectacular new venture in the heart of Edinburgh’s £150 million New Waverley development, which is currently transforming the city’s Old Town.
Ronaq, which first opened in Edinburgh three years ago, is expanding its chain of restaurants into a stunning glass-fronted corner site linking Cranston Street with East Market Street, just yards from the Royal Mile.
The new venue includes a large ground-level bar leading upstairs to a stunning first-floor dining area seating up to 90 people, which is almost completely surrounded by floor to ceiling glass panels providing magnificent views across the Waverley Valley.
We have designed the restaurant to take full advantage of the views across Edinburgh, combined with a varied menu serving the best in contemporary and traditional Asian cuisine. It’s an amazing space bringing together the best of Edinburgh, both old and new, and we are looking forward to literally lighting up the Old Town.
So what sets Ronaq apart from every other Indian Restaurants in Edinburgh? Definitely our passion for cooking and providing great tasting, well-cooked, and brilliantly presented food.
You’re invited to choose from an extensive menu that has something to please all taste buds. For those who prefer Masala to Madras, there are plenty of options to choose from. Our menus have a wide choice of vegeterian selection to choose from. Our chefs are extremely proud of the specialties, offering you innovative cuisine that has been inspired from throughout South Asia.
Using spices and herbs from different regions, Ronaq welcomes you to discover the exciting and delicious taste of cooking styles from across south Asia. Whether you like authentic Punjabi home cooking from Lahore in Pakistan, Kashmiri cuisine, flavoursome Indian dishes or Bangladeshi specialities, our chef’s will deliver it perfectly to your taste.
We welcome children of all ages and will be more than happy to provide high chairs where needed. Our menus include a children’s section too and we will always go out of our way to keep the little ones happy.
If you are searching for an Indian Restaurant in Edinburgh that offers you exquisite cuisine in a contemporary atmosphere, we’re a company that believes that an excellent meal isn’t just about the food, although that is extremely important. It’s about the experience too.
As always, great food, good value for money and excellent staff!
Portion sizes too small for the price, but lovely food
Had a great time! waiters were amazing and so friendly
Everything was as it should be. A perfect meal.
Had a really lovely time and service and food were wonderful. The only down side was because of the windows it was very hot - maybe some more aircon needed?
Our waiter was very polite, knowledgable, helpful and attentive and a credit to your restaurant
Great food and polite, friendly service
This was our second visit and won't be our last. It was our daughter's birthday and her first visit. She has already recommended you to a friend. Thank you
Great restaurant and very nice inside. Staff are friendly and always keen to help. Food was great, I thought the chicken pakora was a small portion. Would be good if it was a little busier. Atmosphere was a little quiet. It is so close to the train station, I am sure it would be busy later.
very nice food but a little expensive.
Excellent food with a wide variety of choice. Very friendly and attentive staff. The restaurant is well located and is tastefully decorated. Probably the best Indian restaurant in Edinburgh. Will definitely recommend. In fact have already made recommendations to family visiting Edinburgh at Christmas.
Great dinner experience. Friendly staff and top notch food.
Excellent food and service as always
Great food, great service. we'll be back!
The food was very bland and the portions were too small for the price
Excellent restaurant first time in Edinburgh for my wife’s birthday, great food friendly staff , and a surprise dessert for us with the staff singing happy birthday, great night thank you all. José Perez
Amazing food and service as always
Really nice enjoyable evening. Food was very good but priced a bit high we think .. ......... but Ronaq is only 100 yards from the High Street so I guess that has to be taken in to consideration.
Absolutely delicious food, brilliant menu. Sea bass starter was amazing. Service was first class. Should be enteted into Scottish Curry awards, we are sure yous would win. Thanks for everything, see youvagain soon ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I have previously mentioned in several feedbacks that the starters were cool but this time they were fine and very tasty. The main courses were delicious. Well done! The only problem was this. It was a pleasantly warm day outside but the air-conditioning in the restaurant was on full blast making the air inside verging on chilly, and cooling the food down very quickly. Sitting under one of the vents led to quite a sore head for most of the afternoon. It really isn't necessary (or is very seldom necessary) to have air-conditioning on in Scotland, even in summer. It would be nice if customers were able to be as warm inside as outside.
Superb meal in an awesome setting . Service was first class .
Great service, beautiful restaurant, fantastic value. Our waiter was funny and very good. Have recommended to friends and family and will definitely come back
Very good service and good, tasty food.
