About Ronaq Restaurant New Waverley
We are proud to announce a spectacular new venture in the heart of Edinburgh’s £150 million New Waverley development, which is currently transforming the city’s Old Town.
Ronaq, which first opened in Edinburgh three years ago, is expanding its chain of restaurants into a stunning glass-fronted corner site linking Cranston Street with East Market Street, just yards from the Royal Mile.
The new venue includes a large ground-level bar leading upstairs to a stunning first-floor dining area seating up to 90 people, which is almost completely surrounded by floor to ceiling glass panels providing magnificent views across the Waverley Valley.
We have designed the restaurant to take full advantage of the views across Edinburgh, combined with a varied menu serving the best in contemporary and traditional Asian cuisine. It’s an amazing space bringing together the best of Edinburgh, both old and new, and we are looking forward to literally lighting up the Old Town.
So what sets Ronaq apart from every other Indian Restaurants in Edinburgh? Definitely our passion for cooking and providing great tasting, well-cooked, and brilliantly presented food.
You’re invited to choose from an extensive menu that has something to please all taste buds. For those who prefer Masala to Madras, there are plenty of options to choose from. Our menus have a wide choice of vegeterian selection to choose from. Our chefs are extremely proud of the specialties, offering you innovative cuisine that has been inspired from throughout South Asia.
Using spices and herbs from different regions, Ronaq welcomes you to discover the exciting and delicious taste of cooking styles from across south Asia. Whether you like authentic Punjabi home cooking from Lahore in Pakistan, Kashmiri cuisine, flavoursome Indian dishes or Bangladeshi specialities, our chef’s will deliver it perfectly to your taste.
We welcome children of all ages and will be more than happy to provide high chairs where needed. Our menus include a children’s section too and we will always go out of our way to keep the little ones happy.
If you are searching for an Indian Restaurant in Edinburgh that offers you exquisite cuisine in a contemporary atmosphere, we’re a company that believes that an excellent meal isn’t just about the food, although that is extremely important. It’s about the experience too.
Lovely food and such a beautiful place, thank you
Couldn’t fault the whole experience. Would definitely return when next in Edinburgh.
Lunch-times are very good value. Have yet to experience the evening offering. Starter tasted very good but could have been hotter.
Had a great time, food was excellent as was the service.
Excellent service. Food was great
Fantastic food lovely atmosphere and great staff. Will definitely be back and recommend to friends visiting Edinburgh
Great food. Will definitely be back.
Excellent meal and service
We arrived on time for our reservation and was rudely told we would have to wait p, we then got seated and waited for any service that we had to ask for drinks and menu, we again had to ask to have our order taken, we received our drinks, then had to again ask for our starters, which we never received as we waited 40 minutes we then paid for our wine and popedoms £48.50, we then left and ate elsewhere, I am totally disgusted with how we were treat, when I had made the booking, you really need to have more respect for your customers
It was our first time here and we were both very pleased. I booked dinner here as we were in Edinburgh for the weekend. It was a great location being only 10 minutes away from our hotel on Princess Street. From the moment we walked in to the minute we left the staff were fantastic, really attentive and friendly. The service was great and the food was amazing! We really enjoyed it. They made the night extra special by bringing my friend a chocolate fudge cake to celebrate her birthday. The decor of the restaurant is stunning and the atmosphere was very pleasant. The food was full of flavour and large portions. Execellent value for money and we will be retiring for sure when we are back in the city.
Great service and food at an amazing price for city centre.

Lovely food in novel setting
A great meal which we both enjoyed.
Ronaq restaurant is situated overlooking Calton Hill and North Bridge in Edinburgh, with floor to ceiling windows it gives a stunning view while you dine. We visited the restaurant to try the business lunch and we we not disappointed, from the fish pakora to the sabzi biryani and haddock balti - all the dishes were cooked to perfection and delicious. Def recommend.
Fantastic restaurant.First Class food and service. You always feel so welcome from the minute you step in the door.Staff go out of the way to make your experience first class.
Had a wonderful meal. Food was absolutely amazing. Certain staff could do with being a little more attentive and a smile goes a long way. The greeter was so friendly, our waiter didn’t speak or smile much. Overall we had a lovely evening. Thank you xx
Portions were VERY small, but otherwise excellent. Service was good and the staff were very attentive and pleasant. Considering the small portions we received it was an expensive meal. My partner noticed that cutlery dropped on the floor by staff was put back on the table instead of replaced by clean uncontaminated cutlery.
Food was amazing!
Great Restaurant. Attentive staff without being intrusive. Tables well placed and no awful music. Will be back. All the girls enjoyed our evening and we have visited many restaurants in Edinburgh with varied success.
Amazing food and excellent service . Made to feel welcome and they even made an effort for my sisters birthday .
We wnet here for the business lunch and really enjoyed the food. The restaurant itself is lovely and the views are really excellent. Service was also first class.
