About Rogan and Company
Simon Rogan and Penny Tapsell’s relaxed neighbourhood restaurant in the magical village of Cartmel.
Great food and wine from around the world served in casual surroundings with warm friendly service to match.

Not my favorite for how expensive it was. I didn’t feel like every course was Michelin star worthy. Some were better than others
It’s hard to find good service but yours was impeccable, professional yet warm and welcoming. The food was superb and it was an overall faultless experience!
Standard of food and service still impresses us after all our visits. The staff are extremely professional but also very friendly. We have to know a few of them over the years. Looking forward to our next visit in the near future.
Amazing meal, couldn't recommend enough
We were worried that not being able to see family over Christmas would be a bit flat so booked ourselves into the restaurant to make a new and different memory It was very special, , enjoyed all the courses, the service was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. Can’t thank you enough, you made our Christmas Day for us.
Lovely as always
Could I just say thst the staff were absolutely perfect. Mr Rogan sir, you should be very proud. I didn’t catch the name of your waiting staff but each and every one was knowledgeable and friendly:a credit to you and your food
Fantastic evening celebrating my sons 17th.. The staff made us feel extremely well cared for during the evening. Food was delicious and we will definitely be back!
Fantastic food and service
We had an amazing time, food was spectacular and the service was wonderful. Made regulars out of us!
An excellent meal. The food & drink was fantastic. The service was very professional & welcoming. The venue was well designed. The only negative was being charged £20 plus service charge for a 1 year old for a sausage and a few vegetables, which we felt was very unreasonable. Normally a kids meal is less than £10. When the cost is nearly as much as one of the main courses, we think it should be made clear at the outset. If we’d have been told, we would have just had her eat from our plates. Unfortunately she ate none of it. It was an excellent lunch otherwise. We would have visited again had it not been for the hidden cost of the our child’s meal.

A wonderful destination for a special treat
Excellent food
An amazing lunch experience .This was our third time at Rogans .This is going to be our Xmas treat from now on. Thank you to all the staff. We could not fault the experience . Diane Olivier
Wonderful evening as always. So happy we could be here Christmas Eve with family xx
Another magical trip to Cartmel! The perfect antidote - thank you!
Lovely staff Didn’t feel Christmas as no decorations Music didn’t seem suitable for the venue
The food was exceptional apart from the desserts. We had a couple of the snacks - the best dish of the night was "Truffle pudding and black garlic". The lamb croquette with ransom had a delicious strong lamb flavour but I couldn't taste the ransom. Both mains were superb the duck and jerusalem artichoke. The desserts were tasty but nothing special. Nice coffee. I found the wine list a bit disappointing but the Shiraz was good.Service was excellent. Facilities were limited and had to queue for the toilet which doesn't seem right for an establishment of this type.
Incredible food and amazing service, was especially impressed with the way you guys dealt with my partner being celiac. The pumpkin seed bread and gluten free birthday cake (completely unexpected, thank you!) were a nice touch. Can I ask if you source the pumpkin seed bread externally or weather you make it in house? As Sophie was very impressed with it, and I’d like to, if possible try to get some more of it. Thanks
Amazing food, lovely setting and friendly staff
Excellent service and staff Loved the food and made to feel special Thank you
I booked for Sunday lunch time after viewing the Sunday set lunch menu on the website. However, the set menu was not available when we arrived (a la carte only), which was slightly annoying as the set menu informed my decision on when to book. I wasn't informed of the change in advance. The food was great, but I was slightly disappointed with the choux bun snacks as they contained almost no filling. The guinea hen meat on the main course was unremarkable and a little dry.
Very enjoyable food was delicious and rice pudding was to die for.... my only suggestion could do with expanding the selection of wine list.
