About Igloo Village at Rockwater
Igloo Village at Rockwater.
A seafront community hub for lounging, all day dining, long evenings & good times. Our Igloo Village at Rockwater brings a cosy & charming dining experience to Hove seafront.
Really enjoyed it. Took the family and dog (rescue dog so enclosed pod was great!). Warm and comfy - love the seats and details! Looking forward to the speakers working. Food choices good - lamb tagine lovely and v hot, hot dogs could have been hotter. Only small criticism was no red wine on the menu and no signage on one entrance so we had no idea the welcome hut was on the other side. But LOVED IT and delighted that we now have Rockwater. Love the pods and the shacks and cant wait for the main building to open.
We were unable to attend our reservation due to new lockdown rules and this venue being closed, look forward to trying in the future when reopened.
Really lovely idea, really cosy and fun! Nice to have a selection of seafood to choose from. :)
Brilliant idea. Absolutely lovely staff. Food was delicious and very reasonably priced. The whole set up was executed really well!! Will be back as soon as they reopen.
Such a fantastic concept
We had such a lovely time and thoroughly enjoyed my birthday celebrations and I would book again.....Just a little bit of feedback to make it slightly better....it was freezing....the heater did a bit but a few more of those or a more powerful one would be great. We had traveled from Epsom so it took an hour to get down.....the communication over Insta was spot on. it would have been a lovely touch if you would have offered a free drink or something knowing it was my birthday....that’s not a big deal just would have been a nice thing to do.....Our daughters hotdog came out about 15 mins before all our food, so she was finished. Food was lovely As I said, just a few pointers and feedback but overall we had a great time and would recommend to our friends and family
Perfect place to spend a good dinner with family and friends. Managed to get a table even being 30mins early from our original booking. Very welcoming and friendly staff :)
Great experience, well organised, friendly staff ...warm inside the bubble ambient music Can’t wait to visit again ! Thank you
A fabulous place. Such a great idea and much warmer than I expected.
It was just amazing
Great .. so looking forward to returning when we can!
We really enjoyed our time at the igloos! We are looking forward to returning over Christmas!
Suggest if you could have slightly better cutlery and when we had the beef dish the Bourguignon the meat came out very dark almost looking black was a bit off-putting, but it tasted delicious. Squid we had was fabulous. Positive feedback - considering the time you had been open and the difficult conditions, the staff did great! Igloos worked well.
Menu was quite limited and unfortunately had a few things not available.
Excellent location and service. They even managed to accommodate our request for a hot dog topping which I asked for when making the reservation! Can’t ask for more than that. Would definitely recommend it. Will be back when lockdown finishes.
Had a truly lovely time. Special thanks to Oscar and the team who looked after us so well. We’ll be back as soon as we’re allowed.
Was a waste of time and money. Took our lorded then told us to leave before our stuff even turned up. Could do better in my back garden
Things I really liked 1.the staff are amazing 10 out of 10 and they couldn't have done enough for us 2. Food is tasty and good value for money 3. The pod was large and comfy 4. We could bring our dog and the girl brought us a bowl of water for him Things for improvement 1. The floor is soaking we and we had the dog but he couldn't lie down so I was aware of that he wasn't relaxed so I didn't really relax. 2. The igloo got very cold when the son went down so next time I would put on more layer and maybe advise people to bring a blanket TBH minor nit picking on the whole lovely experience and the wonderful attentive staff were amazing thanks so much
We had a throughly enjoyable time in our cosy igloo. Just a few changes needed. It was confusing to find the actual entrance in the dark more signs required. No lighting on any steps to and from venue in wind and rain makes it very treacherous. If lighting not possible paint the step edges white or evèn better glow in dark paint! Fake grass flooring between pods got absolutely sodden which then caused the carpets within the pods to also become soaking wet...maybe warn people not to put handbags/bags on floor if not waterproof..contents of my handbag became very damp! A little more lighting could be used as to read menus we had to use our torches on our mobile phones. Speaker great idea but music was very quiet not sure if you can bluetooth your own music? Being given a pint plastic glass to drink prosecco from not ideal, next time I would bring my own plastic flutes! Food piping hot, although we all said a little on the dry side and my halloumi/feta/tomato/pot stew was very spicy....not described on menu as spicy so may catch someone people out! Price for food on point for smallish portion size I think most men could easily eat 2 main course stews. My friend loved her mackerel pate served with warm bread too, we were really impressed. Shame all light bite/starters had run out ....no falafels or vegan sausage rolls, but our server was very helpful rustling us up some pots of leftover hummus to dip our crisps in, which was much appreciated! The staff were very friendly although obviously rushed off their feet...I do feel for them working in gale force winds. Porta loos are what they are,not ideal but they were clean. All in all with some very minor adjustments this is going to be a fabulous addition to Hove seafront once lockdown 2 is finished...we will be back, hopefully.
I loved it and am sorry you have to close. Will be back when you get open again. Only improvement would be to change the cheap, single use, plastic cups.
When we arrived, was unsure where we needed to go to check in and be shown to igloo but staff very helpful and walked us to our spot. Bit hard to see the way when walking at night - perhaps a bit more lighting along the pathways. Other than that, bloody excellent and cool dining experience, loved it!!!
Terrific idea, executed with brilliance. We will be back again and again!
We had a wonderful evening in a Rockwater Igloo. Even though it was raining outside the staff were friendly and attentive. They explained everything and service was certainly with a smile We were warm and comfortable in the Igloo, everything was clean with good ventilation. You need to be aware not to put bags on the floor - they got wet and you had to be mindful of the occasional drips due to the condensation. Food was obviously from a limited menu but we were all happy with our choices. Many thanks to the RW team and owner for coming up with such a great idea - it looked magical - we will certainly be back when Covid restrictions allow.
I know it’s early days and it a beautiful venue but the service was awful and the food and drink cold! It was Sunday morning and lots of things not available. It won’t stop me coming back, it’s got so much potential but lots of tweaking to be done
Great, creative dining space. We very much enjoyed our meal in the cozy igloos - good food, lovely service. We’ll be back!
