About Afternoon Tea - Rockliffe Hall Hotel
Rockliffe Hall pride themselves on finding ways to serve this ultimate English tradition with a modern and original twist. But this isn’t just any old afternoon tea. Dainty sandwiches (crust-less of course!) scones, cakes and pastries washed down with specially-selected and highly-acclaimed ‘Jing’ teas which come in a wide range of varieties.
Traditional or with a twist, delicious sandwiches and elegant sweet treats are the perfect pairing for your afternoon brew. Special occasions may call for the addition of a chilled glass of champagne or a Hendrick’s G & T cocktail. If the afternoon tea itself isn’t enough of a draw, taking in the magnificent surroundings of the Orangery is an experience in itself.
£1 from each Afternoon Tea sold is donated to the MFC Foundation which uses the passion and power of the Football Club brand to raise aspirations and improve life chances of young people and adults across Teesside.
Has a wonderful afternoon tea experience. All thestaff were so helpful and friendly which added to the treat. The tea itself could not be faulted, it was delicious. So a big thank you for making it so enjoyable for my friends.
Very disappointing Christmas afternoon tea. Sandwiches dry and certainly not festive. Cakes mediocre. Service slow. Costs not made clear.
We have been coming to Rockcliffe Hall for afternoon tea at Christmas time for the past 4 years. We have had it in the Hall by the piano, in the room with the big fireplace, I think it might be the Library, and the Orangery. On this occasion we were in the Orangery, which I did find a little uninviting and the atmosphere didn't really put us in the Christmas spirit! Maybe if there had been some Christmas carols playing the atmosphere might have been more Christmassy! We much preferred it when we were seated by the piano outside where the big Christmas tree was, but on booking we were not asked if we wanted to be seated in a specific area. Could not fault the service the waitress was very attentive and saw to our every need. The food was excellent as usual especially the chocolate tart and we enjoyed all the items that came on the stand. My mum doesnt eat egg and it was no trouble for that sandwich to be exchanged for one with ham in it. Had an enjoyable afternoon tea and would definitely recommend to friends and family, thank you.
Quite disappointed in the organisation of the afternoon tea when it had been preordered. The children’s afternoon tea was advertised in such a way that it would be served in a festive way-it was anything but. It was lovely having our own room but I felt the table could have been presented better with a tablecloth etc. The trail was also disappointing as it was described in such a way that it formed an integral part of the afternoon. On a few occasions I had to leave the room for service as not enough tea was served. There was also a lack of explanation as to what was being served. I also felt the tables could have been arranged in a better manner to be able to accommodate 10 people. When we arrived and were seated in the room it would have been nice to have had the format of the afternoon explained to make it feel special to young children. If you intend to provide this next year then I would advise the young children ‘s afternoon tea perhaps being served by elves. ‘
Fantastic Afternoon Tea, staff very helpful and friendly. Children enjoyed the Tea.
Delicious food and the portion sizes were just right!
Standard of the children’s afternoon tea was well below the standard that is advertised Very disappointed with the quality and very slow service
Afternoon tea was lovely and served by some really friendly and professional staff.A lovely afternoon for our Golden Wedding.
A little confusion at first as booking arranged via email but quickly sorted out professionally and very politely.
We thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon tea. For us it was a five star experience, friendly staff, warmly welcomed. We would not hesitate to recommend Rockcliffe Hall and have never been disappointed with any of the meals on our visits there.
Lovely room and service - Afternoon tea of a high standard.
Very enjoyable afternoon tea with pleasant and helpful staff
Fantastic experience yet again (3rd time attending). First time my fiancé has been; and he enjoyed it so much that we decided to get a voucher for the parents for Christmas. Wonderful service and exquisite food. Thank you
The staff were really nice however we had quite a wait to be able to order some more tea and coffee. The food was amazing. The surroundings were lovely but we were seated in the centre of the room directly in front of a young couple who were very tactile, this made it a little uncomfortable.
A few errors with the sandwiches due to the fact my daughter is expecting a baby. She made it very clear what she could, and could not, have but it took three attempts to get it right. However, the food was exquisite, the atmosphere lovely and the service was good once the mix up was sorted. Overall a lovely treat. Will be back.
The children’s selection was so lovely ....you need Santa’s in one of the pods for the children to visit ....that’s would have made it extra special or do a Groto in the huge green house
Had a very enjoyable and relaxing stay at Rockliffe hall followed by a spa and afternoon tea experience. Very friendly and professional service in the Orangery from Tomos. Lovely teas, the sandwiches were delicious and plentiful. The complimentary glass of fiz was very welcome. A little disappointed in the scones, slightly dry Otherwise a delightful relaxing afternoon.
Myself and my Daughter have had afternoon tea many times at Your hotel. we enjoyed the complimentary glass of fizz and the service was excellent but we were disappointed with the cake selection,
It was absolutely gorgeous, the hall and the surroundings are beautiful and the food was lovely!
Mini quiches would be nice. Cake selection bland have had much better when we have previously visited. Still loved it and many thanks to very helpful and friendly staff. We will be back.
Excellent food, superbly served in a splendid setting. Highly recommended!
Service was really good but food was lacking.
Fabulous service, excellent food, beautiful venue
Was Daughters 18th Birthday treat. Food was great but when asked for more tea and waiting 30mins, it never came. A bit disappointed.
