About Afternoon Tea - Rockliffe Hall Hotel
Rockliffe Hall pride themselves on finding ways to serve this ultimate English tradition with a modern and original twist. But this isn’t just any old afternoon tea. Dainty sandwiches (crust-less of course!) scones, cakes and pastries washed down with specially-selected and highly-acclaimed ‘Jing’ teas which come in a wide range of varieties.
Traditional or with a twist, delicious sandwiches and elegant sweet treats are the perfect pairing for your afternoon brew. Special occasions may call for the addition of a chilled glass of champagne or a Hendrick’s G & T cocktail. If the afternoon tea itself isn’t enough of a draw, taking in the magnificent surroundings of the Orangery is an experience in itself.
£1 from each Afternoon Tea sold is donated to the MFC Foundation which uses the passion and power of the Football Club brand to raise aspirations and improve life chances of young people and adults across Teesside.
After having afternoon tea here previously, I feel that the service overall has declined. The afternoon tea did not feel special or worthy of a 5 star rating and think Rockliffe Hall has become complacent. The service in the clubhouse for drinks was not up to standard either.
Atmosphere excellent. Mixed up orders which meant food was delayed by 45 mins. Staff excellent and when food arrived it was excellent
The afternoon tea is great value and the quality is exceptional. Very disappointed though that the quiche has been dropped from the menu. Didn't get 5* for value for money because £12 for a glass of wine is crazy expensive!!
Food was good, service adequate, The Orangerie had no atmosphere whatsoever. As spa members we paid £20 each for afternoon tea, but if we'd paid £37 for a full price champagne afternoon tea, think it would have been overpriced. It was ok, just a bit forgettable.
Thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon tea in splendid and comfortable surroundings. Followed on nicely from a few hours in the spa. Always enjoy a visit to Rockliffe Hall. Thank you.
Enjoyable tasty food Gorgeous surroundings
Very disappointed in the small amount for the price...no cheese scones, no savouries, nothing to fancy on the sandwiches.. won’t rush back for afternoon tea again..
Only comment - had to ask twice for hot water to go alongside tea felt it should have been the norm but everything else was lovely
Absolutely excellent from start to finish, great surroundings, lovely, helpful staff, we will be back.
A wonderful experience we will return and certainly recommend it to everyone.
Absolutely appalled by the tea which was severed.I would not expect sandwich’s of the fillings given for an afternoon tea,eg Hummous Chesse with sultanas in a granola pot. The cream and jam in a ramakin that looked like it was thrown in and butter served in little foil wraps. The girls who served us I couldn’t fault at all but the complaint handled by the orangery manager was appalling. I thought he was rude and his phone manger a disgusting. I will not return and would not recommend to my work colleagues or friends . Regards. Mrs Byers
Beautiful afternoon tea with amazing service from staff. We always love coming here and are never disappointed, thank you
I've enjoyed afternoon tea many times at Rockliffe Hall & yet again I was not disappointed. I took the opportunity to go as part of a spa package deal, just by myself. I love the fact that on each occasion they've mixed the cakes/sandwiches a little while retaining old favourites. You're always made to feel a million dollars. All staff are superb. Cannot recommend highly enough!
The sandwiches and pastries/cakes were all very tasty, the tea was really nice served in fine bone china cups as it should be served, all round I would recommend to anyone to give it a try I throughly enjoyed it. I asked myself every time with the scones is it jam spread first or cream on the scone ?
Accommodated my gluten and lactose intolerance. Food was delicious
Bread was stale on sandwiches however cakes were lovely. Ask for tea and coffee and waited 20 minutes just sat before chasing up with waitress only yo be told it was on its way....10 minutes later it arrived. For the money paid I would expect better. Would think twice about returning as there are other locations that are more reasonably priced with better service. Booked for our wedding anniversary but left a taint on the day.
Excellent service, food and overall experience
We were in the Campernella room for a private function. Room beautiful. Staff were fantasti, however I was disappointed with the afternoon tea sandwiches. When you go for afternoon tea you expect some fancy sandwiches not something you could nip into Greggs and buy. There was cheese savoury, ham, egg and hummus, all very boring and normal type sandwiches. Cakes looked delicious.
Thoroughly enjoyed tea in The Orangery looking out towards the Golf Course. Outstanding service as always and beautiful presentation. Crisp table linen and lovely crockery. Food very good though Panna Cotta was rubbery! Everything else was lovely.
Excellent! This was a Christmas gift that my Grandma chose to use as a treat with me for my birthday! Had a lovely time. Food was fantastic and service top notch. Many thanks.
Couldn’t have been better. My mam has just had her 96th birthday and doesn’t normally eat a lot of cakes and sweet things. She thoroughly enjoyed her afternoon tea as did we all. Les said he would like to come every week! We will definitely be back!
Afternoon tea was wonderful. Nice ambiance. Friendly and efficient staff.
Beautiful place the grounds and rooms are stunning along with the entrance in
Just right amount of food.
Went with my two daughters and two granddaughters, was lovely, good service by friendly staff, Santa came to speak at the table although my 3 year old granddaughter isn't quite sure of him yet. Afternoon tea was filling and the childrens was great it even included chicken nuggets and chips along with sandwiches and various small portions of cake, gingerbread, chocolate santa etc. Afterwards we went on the Elf trail and into the glasshouse to make some reindeer dust. A great afternoon enjoyed by all thank you.
