About Rock Hotel Terrace Restaurant
The Rock Hotel prides itself on its great cuisine which reflects Gibraltar’s great heritage with tastes of Morocco, Spain and of course the best of British dining.
With its comfortable surrounds which introduce modern comfort to colonial splendour, The Restaurant and Lounge Bar are the places where visitors can enjoy their lunch or dinner or simply relax over a welcoming gin and tonic. The Rock Hotel’s famous English or Moroccan Afternoon Tea is served in the Lounge Bar or on the Wisteria Terrace where you can take in the most amazing panoramic sea views.
Our restaurant offers a round the clock dining experience. Guests begin the day with a hearty breakfast in the elegant Restaurant and Wisteria Terrace.
Later in the day, a modern style lunch is served followed by brasserie style dining in the evening.
We feature a daily changing House Menu as well as a full, seasonally changing a la carte menu which we hope you will enjoy.
Food, staff and location perfect as always.
We had an unforgettable Evening, made special by the good service from your friendly professional stafff. we will definitely return and have already recommended it to our friends
Thank you for an enjoyable meal.
We had afternoon tea and whilst the food and unlimited tea/coffee were very good for us which made it a wonderful experience was the excellent friendly service.
Love it every time we go...… thanks for everything.... arrived at 1:20 and left at 7pm......says it all!!!!
The staff were very friendly and waiters service was amazing very high standard of service received. Food was served quickly and efficiently we are very happy with the food ,atmosphere and staff , will definitely be recommending this restaurant , top service. The food was amazing.
A little disappointing. I had hoped to have the champagne afternoon tea but this was not offered to us. Also, the website boasts a wide selection of teas available but we were not given any choice, simply asked if we were going to have tea or coffee. I emailed in advance to confirm that we were both vegetarian which was not communicated to the staff and therefore the sandwiches were a selection of meat and fish. By the time they were replaced the scones had gone cold. I will say that the taste of the food was really nice as was the location and the views. It's a shame a lack of communication between reservation team and kitchen was not better.
Celebrated son's Baptism at the Rock Hotel! The service throughout was great! Very enjoyable time with the family! x
Very friendly staff, lovely views from the terrace
Excellent service!!!! After finishing the Med Steps, my boyfriend and I went to Rock Hotel for afternoon tea. We thought that the afternoon tea was last until 8 (which is written on the online booking), but actually it lasts until 6 something. The waiters were really helpful and made an exception for us. The food there was good, highly recommended for a decent, enjoyable and relaxing afternoon
When I booked I stated there would be one diabetic plus I nut allergy. We were shown to a nice table by the window with lovely views. A pot of tea was delivered then 10 minutes later a tier of scones, preserve, cakes & sandwiches arrived. Unfortunately no account had been taken of our allergies. I asked the waitress to tell me what ingredients were in the pasteries, she looked blank, I asked her to check with the kitchen, I then asked a waiter to check, he came back and said it’s ok. I would have expected someone from the kitchen to show some interest, considering what an impact this can have. My husband could only eat the sandwiches and scone which were hard and dry due to being diabetic. Not a good experience at the Rock hotel. May I suggest training is given to staff regarding the importance of allergies and consequences they bring,
Gorgeous view. Will dine with you again.
We had a most delightful afternoon tea experience at the Rock Hotel. The sandwiches, scones and cakes were simply delicious (the scones were served with real clotted cream and chef's homemade strawberry jam). The service was most friendly and efficient. The views from the terrace were wonderful. The whole experience was topped off with a glass of chilled sparkling champage. A wonderful experience which will be repeated on our next visit to Gibraltar. If you do nothing else in Gibraltar visit the Rock Hotel for afternoon tea.
Absolutely lovely afternoon.Thank you and the staff were marvellous. Can't comment on price as it was a 70 birthday gift from our friends who were with us.MaryMitchell.
Excellent quality meal which we enjoyed, the service was very good and staff professional, helpful and friendly.
Very good experience, would book again. Food excellent, services very good. A excellent experience, would recommend.
The idea to do classic French/European and Moroccan cuisine makes sense in therms of location and history. But unfortunately makes challenges for the kitchen. It is clear that the staff don’t always master both. Dishes varies significant from day to day and quality is inconsistent. You have a great hotel, wonderful staff, great location and a proud history, but as a professional chef and consultant, in my opinion, you need a recipes, pictures of the dishes and stronger guidelines for the staff for the restaurant to live up to expectations.
The house made strawberry jam was a hit, which came with the usual clotted cream. The window table is certainly recommended. Regardless personnel passed by frequently but no question asked even to get the hot water replenished. It did not come with milk unless asked for it. Service quality certainly needs improvement.
We went for a relative's birthday, the service, food and atmosphere was fabulous! We love going for special occasions! Can't wait for next time!
All very nice, tea and coffee beautiful Cakes and sandwiches very fresh. Might have nice to have more sandwiches and one less cake, but that’s just our preference
Fantastic hospitality and service. We really enjoyed our 42nd anniversary lunch at the hotel. Ed Sullivan
Wonderful Hotel and Restaurant. Perfekt Service. The food was very good. A greeting to the chef. We will be back.
We enjoyed our champagne afternoon tea at The Rock. The cucumber sandwich was a little soggy and the ham/cheese would have benefitted from some butter. Otherwise the rest were really tasty - especially the salmon. The scones, clotted cream and chef's made Blackbery jam a treat - along with the cakes. Great views and setting - thank you
wonderful view and really delicious high tea!
Beautiful setting on the Terrace for Afternoon Tea, particularly for a special occasion. Staff were friendly & a pleasure to speak to.
