About Rockfish Dartmouth
This was our first restaurant, which overlooks the spectacular river Dart. The river is full of ever changing activity, from fishing & sailing boats to super yachts, there is something new and interesting everyday throughout the year. Our restaurant has 90 covers with an upstairs area that can be hired for private celebrations and in warm days we have a small terrace to eat in the sun. During the colder months the restaurant is heated by a log burner which makes it a great place to come and enjoy seafood after a bracing walk by the sea. We also have a take-away situated at the top of the ramp of the Lower Ferry, serving thesame great seafood which can be enjoyed on the watersedge in Bayards cove with a cold pint from the Dartmouth Arms.
The wait staff were really friendly and the food was absolutely delicious. Actually, it was the best fish and chips I’d had in years!
Delicious lunch as always the choice and variety of the fresh catch makes it hard to choose. Wonderful local, fresh seafood washed down with a cold bottle of wine, what could be better. Oh no cheesy Christmas music, bliss!
Delicious fish, chips, mushy peas... but we knew that as we come here lots and are never disappointed!
The best! We love Rockfish, whenever we come to Dartmouth it’s our first port of call. xxxxx
Always happy to visit Rockfish because the quality of food served is always good. I enjoy the surroundings. Will always return as I know I will not be disappointed.
We had the Sand Sole and Plaice, and it was absolutely delicious. We also frequent the Exmouth restaurant. Cannot recommended the Rockfish enough. Not only lovely food but pleasant and friendly staff too. We will definitely be back.
2 of our grandchildren are coeliacs and need GF food. We had a number of issues with the staff on Saturday which we fed back to the manager at the time. Eating with you should be stress free and because the staff were not good we had to keep checking the food was GF. Bit poor really and potentially dangerous.
We enjoyed the face that you cater for both children and adults making meals a family occasion. The kids goody bags are much enjoyed and keep the children busy in a constructive way. Staff have always been welcoming and friendly. Many thanks, Cheers James
The meal was good, we all enjoyed it but really surprised you allow dogs in where we are eating. There was a dog yelling almost throughout our meal. Will think twice about eating there again ad it wad do annoyto say the least.
It was Great!
We often come to Rockfish at Dartmouth or Brixham and Love the grilled fish and yummy chips . However he cockles we had this time were gritty and tasteless and the scampi type langoustines are never good value for money compared to the other delicious fish you cook - sadly my son always orders because he is a scampi fan !! Maybe langoustines are more expensive than the monkfish other restaurants use but in my view maybe you should serve monkfish scampi as a cheaper option for those who would not notice what is inside the breadcrumbs !!! The mushy peas can vary as well and sometimes taste too buttery . However we love your grilled fish and yummy fries as I said and with a glass of sea cider and a pot of salad it is unbeatable . No other fish and chip cafe comes anywhere near it .
I love Rockfish Dartmouth! Nice relaxed vibe, fish fresher than fresh and service always great.
The fish was a little smaller than the Plymouth branch, but we had a fabulous meal and your service was incredible. My daughter adored her birthday card and the staff were incredibly friendly. Thank you
Food and service is great, a bit pricey for fish & chips, but the quality is worth it..
My first time eating out as coeliac and the waitress made it so easy. Thank you to her and the kitchen. Love the little flags!
To be perfectly honest I couldn’t understand why you would batter every fish / seafood. The drinks were good, the service poor at best, value for money horrific! Maybe I didn’t understand the concept it just didn’t work for me... I would definitely not recommend the restaurant it’s like KFC for fish...
I invited two longstanding friends for lunch at Dartmouth Rockfish yet again (Sun 11th Nov), I was completely secure in knowing that we would receive totally satisfactory product and service and, of course, I was right!
Fabulous as always - great food at such good value
I have always loved Rockfish and was excited to take a group of friends there, but couldn't help feeling that the quality wasn't as good as previous visits over the last couple of years.... Possibly the presentation or perhaps that we were not advised to order some extra sides / greens (?) - Can't pinpoint it but I did feel slightly underwhelmed when our meals arrived. They all looked so beige and dull.
Love Rockfish! Friendly service and fantastic, great vfm food. Wine choices great too.
Absolutely brilliant as usual. Fantastic fresh Brill, beautifully cooked and great service from Joanie.
We come often and like the fresh varied fish ver much. But this time we found the calamari small and disappointing for almost £8.00. The service also was slower for what was a quiet night.
Very fresh and delicious
Lovely meal with friends. Service very good
