About Rockfish Dartmouth
This was our first restaurant, which overlooks the spectacular river Dart. The river is full of ever changing activity, from fishing & sailing boats to super yachts, there is something new and interesting everyday throughout the year. Our restaurant has 90 covers with an upstairs area that can be hired for private celebrations and in warm days we have a small terrace to eat in the sun. During the colder months the restaurant is heated by a log burner which makes it a great place to come and enjoy seafood after a bracing walk by the sea. We also have a take-away situated at the top of the ramp of the Lower Ferry, serving thesame great seafood which can be enjoyed on the watersedge in Bayards cove with a cold pint from the Dartmouth Arms.
excellent service and food.
Service not great but you were very busy. Pre-dinner drinks arrived with starters and had to ask for our wine. Given the wrong bill at the end. Suspect just a hard day / night for your team and food was really good.
A totally wonderful experience from beginnning to end ! Brilliant service throughout our evening . Wonderful food ..... Catch of the day so perfect in every way . Absolutely loved the whole adventure . So wished we were local ....we would return and return and return !!!
The restaurant never disappoints. This was our second visit in a week, yet a totally different meal due to the daily specials. Can’t wait to come back
Enjoyed the food. Good selection of local fresh fish at fair prices
Like the idea of free sparkling water & extra chips if required. Also the fresh fish of the day explained by our delightful waitress.
Always a lovely experince to eat at Rockfish. Beautiful fresh fish, perfectly cooked, complemented by excellent service from the attentive and friendly staff, who really seem to enjoy their work. I am a regular Rockfish customer, and have always found the same high standards. Thank you all.
Very nice fresh fish which varies each day. I had monkfish my friends had Gurnard. Good salad, unlimited chips. What’s not to like?
Can’t wait to go back!
We, as a party of 6, thoroughly enjoyed ourselves . Good food, scallops and pickled herring delicious, great service meant a very pleasent evening.
Fantastic food and friendly service.
I'm not sure whether it was because we had our dog but the 4 of us were squeezed into the table by the door. Every time the door opened my brother got blasted with air from outside and the napkins threatened to blow away. Staff quickly took the orders for food and drink and we were concous of the 1.5hr time limit on the table and therefore surprised at how slow the food was to arrive. I sent back peas and the fish & chips as they were luke warm and my curry sauce didn't arrive though we were charged for it. Overall we felt The Rockfish was more of a chip ship than a restaurant which is a shame because the menu options were fabulous and the gluten free options excellent.
Excellent evening. Great food and lovely staff. Not quite Seahorse but it’s not meant to be.
Lovely food as usual. Great that all items on the menu can be made gluten free.
It's always a very pleasant experience for a simple meal.
Lovely Cod and Chips. Need to improve their selection of speciality teas.
Excellent meal and as good as ever
We have had two excellent meals at Rockfish, can't wait to go again. The hake is lovely.
All fine, as usual. Three of us. Had The mixed plate, grilled bream, and f and c. All enjoyed. Service attentive without being sickly gushing. All good.
GF fish and chips is a rare treat, and delicious. The rest of the party also have a varied, non GF, high quality menu choice.
Always enjoy visiting Dartmouth branch.
Best fish and chips in Devon with staff super friendly and knowledgeable. Rockfish always has a great selection of ‘catch of the day’ to make each visit different with prices surprisingly affordable for the quality of food on offer.
Pickled onion onion rings were a little on the thick side, would benefit from being thinner which would make them more crispy, loved our starters and cod & chips, free water and unlimited chips is a lovely touch, very impressed with the external tap for drinking water for all to use
The food and the service were good. A stag group upstairs and a very young baby behind us crying most of the time we were eating our meal rather ruined our evening. Not much can be done about customers with babies. But we were disappointed that the rowdy group upstairs were seemingly left to do as they wished. We ate up quickly and left. Will we come back? Not sure.
My wife’s Brill was over cooked , my cod and chips was great.
