About Rochelle Canteen at ICA
Rochelle Bar & Canteen at The Institute of Contemporary Arts on The Mall is now open. The ICA opened in 1947, a space for artists, writers and scientists to debate new ideas. In 2017 Stefan Kalmár of Artists Space, New York took over as director with an exciting new programme of exhibitions, films, talks and events starting at the beginning of October. The building has been stripped back to its former modernist simplicity, with our new bar and canteen to complement it. Rochelle Bar & Canteen will include a daily changing menu reflective of our honest, classic cooking style. The ICA also has two beautiful rooms upstairs overlooking The Mall available to book for events. Ben Coombs is head chef, while Fin Spiteri has designed our drinks list and will be in overall charge of the bar and front of house.
Very good food and friendly service.
My favourite restaurant in London at the moment
Delicious food, exciting menu and charming staff
I love Rochelle At the ICA. The food is usually fantastic. Unfortunately the halibut fell a little below usual standards on Saturday.
I can’t believe how much better the space is now! Finally the hospitality is on par with the rest of the gallery. Just fabulous. And the owners were eating there too! Very chic crowd, delicious food.
Absolutely love this place! Great service and amazing atmosphere - such a good spot for a weeknight dinner!
Food should have been hotter eg broccoli Cold plates
A very pleasant dinner on Sunday. I really enjoyed my Easter bunny! What a treat to have boned rabbit and the sauce was delicious. The ceviche was good but lacked something...and was a bit bland; maybe a touch seasoning or lime would have elevated it. My companion ate his enormous pie with relish and the latte potatoes were very good. The house red is good but I think could be better...consider a Luberon or Ventoux rather than Languedoc? But no big issue and will be back! Great service, efficient but not obtrusive, keep it up!
We love the new direction at the ICA, the bookshop, the pop up Kiosk shop and Rochelle are all great . Looking forward to another visit.
Great food, service and atmosphere.
Excellent quality food. The Quail was delicious as was the pie. Interesting wines and well priced. Top class service. We loved the garden table too.
Always excellent and good value for money for such wonderful ingredients. Even more vegetarian options would be great!
Second time I've been for dinner and enjoyed it again. This time I was able to also eat dessert after first having amazing cuttlefish and pearl barley, then guinea fowl, bacon and wild garlic pie and finally the excellent chocolate mousse which I wasn’t able to finish as all the portions had been very generous even for gluttonous me.
A favourite place; consistently welcoming and delicious
Very good overall experience, as good as the original place . Food quality consistent and very relaxed atmosphere
I think it’s my favourite restaurant in London
Potential dissatisfaction with some confusion over availability of one of our choices was dispelled very satisfactorily - good front of house and delicious food are a great combination.
As expected, the food was excellent and portion sizes generous. One of the best pies I've had in fact! Lovely relaxed atmosphere too. Only quibble was the service, although friendly, was a little haphazard. Despite this, I would happily return.
Utterly fantastic! That is why I am coming back again tomorrow
Unfussy, simply presented, ingredients that speak for themselves and need no over-elaboration. The salads were stunningly fresh and perfectly dressed. Mains pork rib meltingly tender, deep fried rabbit produced very flavoursome meat, and the accompanying aioli was perfect. Relaxed atmosphere was very appealing, aided and abetted by two glasses of fine pinot noir, light and a bit fruity.
Loved the food. Atmosphere great. Service looked really zippy but we had the waiter who was always looking the other way. That said we were fed, watered and managed to pay with a pleasant attitude throughout.
I enjoyed a beautiful and delicious lunch at Rochelle, in a relaxed and elegant atmosphere. Thank you for having us!
A lovely mothers day lunch enjoyed by all.
My second time at Rochelle ICA and not the last! A lovely lunch, the deep-fried bunny is really delicious and the salad a great accompaniment. The starter of peas & broad beans was less impressive but, overall, really professional, efficient but not intrusive while friendly service and great quality food. Oh, and good bread too. Keep it up!
