About Rick Stein Winchester
Rick Stein, Winchester, Hampshire was our first restaurant to open outside of Cornwall. With a nod towards our coastal heritage, this restaurant brings the freshest fish, simply cooked to the high street Winchester. On our menus there’s something for everyone and every occasion, from leisurely lunches with friends to a romantic dinner and everything in between. Stop by for light bite from our new bar menu, perfect for a quick something after work or before an afternoon of shopping – available at lunch and dinner until 6.30pm.
I couldn’t recommend this restaurant enough. Myself and my family enjoyed a delicious lunch here and we couldn’t fault it. From start to finish everything was tip top. Will definitely be returning. Thank you all.
Disappointed with the sardines served as hors d'oeuvres, they were very small, hardly any flesh and little flavour. The rest of our meal was excellent. The wine was good too.
Food was delicious. Service impeccable. Lovely decor and atmosphere.
As always superb! One cannot fault, the quality of the food, wine or service
My husband chose rib eye steak, which he very much enjoyed. I chose Dover sole, which was cooked to perfection. Waiting staff were knowledgeable, attentive, but not intrusive. Our table setting was perfect. Rick Stein's set-up caters well for small intimate tables as well as larger groups.
The service was first class, start to finish. The food was cooked excellently and exactly as it should be. It was our view that the menu was just lacking a little in excitement.
Truly delicious food in a lovely atmosphere with very friendly staff. The only downside was the cost - quite expensive.
So delicious and the most amazing wine!!
The staff were friendly and the food was perfect. Don't change a thing
We had an excellent meal. The squid risotto, in particular, was exceptional and the service was great. My only criticism is about minor details. The risotto plate had a numbet of greasy finger marks and the potatoes accompanying thr brill were overcooked. These are small points and I would happily return.
Nice ambience and good food
We had a lovely evening staff friendly experienced willing to go that bit extra to make us feel special have been before will go again
Really enjoyed the special lunch menu
This was my second visit and the food, except for a dreadful pavlova was very good. They did credit us for our desserts though! I would also give their vodka martini a pass, obviously mixology is not their forté. I prefer a restaurant with a less noisy atmosphere. However, friends wanted to go. It was a weekend so maybe not so loud on a weekday.
Great food but ruined by the extremely slow service. 40 minutes to take our starter order and then another hour between eating our starters and mains arriving. Had to push our taxi back by 30 minutes and were still late so ran up a taxi bill.
Great food and service thank you
Excellent in all respects
Great friendly service.
I return to Winchester a few times each year. This year we decided it was the moment to visit your restaurant: we were not disappointed. The food was everything we hoped for and the service was exemplary. Our main waitress, Tilly J was a credit to the restaurant - charming, aware and her lifting of my wife's Dover Soul from the bone a 'work of art'. The New Zealand Wyebrook Estate did all it should to enhance the meal. Thank you.
Another enjoyable evening at Rick Stein, Winchester. Staff were excellent & went the extra mile in our slection of table which was greatly appreciated. Menu's explore outside the traditional which is different, an enjoyable evening, thank you to all the staff.
Exceptional waitress, very friendly staff, a wonderful welcome. The best Dover sole I have ever eaten and to top it off a signed copy of a cookbook. The only thing that could have improved it, would have been if Mr stein had been there ...
Our waitress the Hungarian girl was lovely
It's rare that every part of a meal out is perfect but you got it all right! Food was great, service friendly and just the right level of attentiveness. We had a lovely evening and will definitely be back.
Lovely Lunch. Good quality food beautifully presented. Waitress was very knowledgeable about the dishes on the menu and attentive. Good choices for the vegetarian and gluten free people in our party
One of us had the set lunch Fundraising for Young Carers and one a la carte. Both options were delicious and a perfect size portion for a lunch. Extra raita was offered with the curry. Our server Elie was pleasant, attentive but not intrusive.
