About Rick Stein Winchester
Rick Stein, Winchester, Hampshire was our first restaurant to open outside of Cornwall. With a nod towards our coastal heritage, this restaurant brings the freshest fish, simply cooked to the high street Winchester. On our menus there’s something for everyone and every occasion, from leisurely lunches with friends to a romantic dinner and everything in between. Stop by for light bite from our new bar menu, perfect for a quick something after work or before an afternoon of shopping – available at lunch and dinner until 6.30pm.
Incredible service from the second we arrived. Perfect food and some lovely personal touches. Would 100%recommend and this comes from a large and difficult party. 😏
Really good food in a nice location
Prefer the atmosphere in your sandbanks restaurant
There was a demonstration going on for a party of people. While it didn’t involve us it was interesting seeing it going on .
The prawn starter at £12.95 was poor value - 4 prawns - a joke. No brown sauce for 'fish & chips'! Very disappointing meal
I had a very enjoyable lunch and catch up with a friend on Saturday at Rick Stein's in Winchester. Food and service could not have been better. Will definitely be back!
I could not fault anything about our meal
The food was absolutely fantastic, really tasty and perfect portion size. The service was excellent. We went as a birthday surprise and it didn’t disappoint. Highly recommend any to go. We will definitely be back.
My wife and I have enjoyed watching and cooking Rick Stein recipes for many years but for some bizarre reason have never eaten in one of his restaurants.. We both found the whole experience excellent the staff, atmosphere and cleanliness was also very good.. We will recommend and revisit your restaurant again soon and thank you for a lovely dining experience... Richard Elmes
We had a really nice evening and would thoroughly recommend a visit
Brilliant lovely venue. Lovely staff. Wonderful touch to give my wife a birthday prosecco and pudding
Everything was super apart from the chairs. They are not comfortable, too deep. We were glad to stand up!,
The service and food was incredible
The staff coped very well with the large group of 13 and no-one complained to me about the service. The concerns were that the table was very close to the seating and we were unable to move without disturbing others when visiting the toilets. Also some people did not think that the portions were very large and that they did not like the idea of paying extra for potatoes/chips.
Great choice on the lunch menu!
Food quite delicious with excellent service
Having been to the Padstow restaurant a few times we were excited to try the Winchester restaurant. Sadly not the same magic. The addition of daily specials would make the restaurant more than a franchise outlet and differentiated from other chains. Wouldn’t pay £40 for a dish in a chain, seems a little at odds with the wider menu. Finally please change the chairs. They really are incredibly hard on the back which the waitress immediately acknowledged and brought us cushions ‘because lots of customers say this’. Wouldn’t stop us returning to the mothership in Padstow but wouldn’t return to the chain.
Ac the restaurant is billed as seafood, I was disappointed not to find crab, langoustines, scallops, lobster etc available other than in the seafood tower
We travelled from London to meet friends for lunch. Well worth the journey. Great food and lovely service.
Excellent service Very impressed with the availability of the set menu
Great food and a pleasant atmosphere. The staff are very relaxed and efficient.
Service great. Starters - mackerel - were too big and put my friends off their food! One fillet would have been sufficient. All food tasted good
