About Rick Stein Sandbanks
With views across the water you can enjoy a casual lunch with classic dishes such as fish and chips and moules marinière, alongside seafood dishes including Dover sole meunière, turbot hollandaise and fruits de mer.
It’s a very convivial place where family and friends can enjoy a good gourmet meal. Amazingly, it’s not that expensive.
An excellent meal - thank you.
Great service enjoyed the food and drinks ! We are regulars at the restaurant and it never disappoints . Only slight let down was I made a booking for the end of January for my mother’s birthday and asked to book the same table . Was told it couldn’t be guaranteed which was disappointing . I have given plenty of notice !
love visiting Rick Stein when down in Sandbanks we always have a grt time - food ambience fabulous
Could not fault anything excellent service, view
Now becoming a regular with my family, friends and colleagues . Great food and ambiance. We never seen to get close to the window though. Im unclear how you ever make that as I always book well in advance on-line
My wife and I have visited several times in the past but this time, although the atmosphere and service were well up to their usual high standards, I’m afraid I was not impressed with the food. The prawns in my starter were mushy and unpleasant to the taste and I thought the fish used in the sole Veronique was freezer burnt. My wife’s main course - a Dover sole - was excellent, but the £39 cost of this simple dish could not be justified. I would have sent both of my courses back, but I didn’t want to spoil the evening for my wife. I’m hoping for better next time.
service was incredible to start but as it became busy it started to drop off and our finished plates were left on the table for to long. The food was great as always.
Very enjoyable experience, as expected the food was first class
Whilst we are not weekly visitors to your restaurant, we are there from time to time and would expect the spelling of our surname to be known to you. Halderthay
The food and the service was excellent my only criticism is the wine and drinks as they are very very pricey, but apart from that the food was to die for and we cannot wait to come back. The staff could not do enough for you they were all very attentive and explained the menu in great detail.
We have been to Rick's many times this year since moving into the area and I have to say that food, service and atmosphere is always excellent. The set lunch/Christmas menus offer great value for money. We are looking forward to visiting many more times in 2019.
Not a comment but a safety thing happen with my wife turning into the glass panel at the entrance due to poor lighting and no actual signage or evidence that this is not actually an opening ...
Mr Stein must be employing waiting staff with telepathic abilities because I have never enjoyed such precise and attentive service. They truly are a credit to this fine eatery. When the food is as beautiful as this and set against a tasteful backdrop which the restaurant presents, every nuance of this experience is sheer delight.
Had a fantastic evening with amazing food (especially with GF options) & the service was excellent.
Absolutely amazing experience Will definitely be back soon
We celebrated out Anniversary with a lovely meal, the Staff were extremely efficient and very friendly. A brilliant evening thank you.
Very lovely. Attentive staff, beautiful food.
Absolutely amazing experience. Food and service exceeded our expectation. Booked again for this coming week!
The experience was all I expected and we were very impressed with the restaurant. Great in the winter but marvellous in the Summer
As always we couldn't fault it.
We had a very enjoyable meal, two courses from the Christmas set menu. We both had the hake as our main and this was delicious but I would say that there was too much gravy/sauce with it; and this is from someone who likes plenty of moisture with her food! This somewhat spoilt it.
Lovely food, great location and view, as always the food was served by polite and helpful staff...thank you, we will see you again.
A fab pre-Christmas catch-up with my sister, started with a lovely warm welcome from reception then we had some well mixed cocktails at the bar along with some Iberico to munch on. Starters of Mussels in a tasty liquor. Scallops, which I have to say we’re a tad on the small side although very nice. A Dover sole and a Turbot - being classically trained I would have liked the black skin off and the hollandaise served directly on to the white flesh rather than having the black skin left on. However this didn’t detract from a great piece of fish, just a personal preference. The wines, a Graves which was lovely and a Japanese white, also great value. More Iberico and a plate of cheeses, very nice indeed. Lovely ice cream with a glass of Pedro over the top. . Followed by another cocktail. A priceless night with my sister Thank you to all. . . .
Always had a lovely experience here, both food and service are excellent and amazing view from the terrace part of the restaurant, a thoroughly good night out.
