About Rick Stein Barnes
On the menu here in Barnes are some Rick’s most iconic dishes such as Dover sole à la meunière, Indonesian seafood curry and hot shellfish platter. Alongside the main lunch and dinner menu, we also offer a set lunch menu, available Monday to Friday. Our seafood bar is a great place to sit and watch chefs assembling platters of oysters, langoustines crab and sashimi – our team love sharing their knowledge with diners, so feel free to ask questions.
We celebrated two birthdays with some excellent fish dishes and a very good Hungarian white wine.
Lovely as ever
We went to RS’s for my other half’s birthday. The staff were attentive and very knowledgeable and friendly. The food was absolutely superb..The oysters which were divine. We also had sashimi and monkfish, Hoping to go again soon to try the fish and Chips.
This was a birthday treat that ended up costing £242 which I'd expected, I have been here before. But the main course dishes didn't live up to the "Rick Steins" quality or appearance Both Fish dishes had a very "hard and dry feel" (maybe frozen and defrosted) lacked taste and the presentation ( I took photos if you want them ) it was a overpriced average if not poor rated evening, rushed and more pub style Disappointed
Lively restaurant, great staff,particularly Evie
Excellent as per. Maitre d’haut superb as always.
The quality of food and service was below expectations
Food absolutely excellent and the staff professional and friendly. That's hard to do and your team were working very well this last Sunday. Menu choice is superb and the bottom line is we will go again.
A wonderful experience, professional and friendly service, gorgeous food and relaxing atmosphere. A fabulous treat! Will be returning soon.
Food was great BUT the service was poor We had to ask for side plates and knives after breads delivered, other tables had them! I asked for a clean knife and the waiter went away and someone else came over and asked what i needed!! Clearing things away while we were still eating, and actually interrupted our eating. Not what I expect from a Stein establishment V Disappointed
A lovely place for a special evening. Six of us travelled from Devon specifically to share a meal here and we were not disappointed. I’m still savouring the scallops succotash!
We had a lovely lunch to celebrate my mum’s 70th birthday last weekend. The food was superb and the extensive wine list was very reasonable. The service was also excellent and we will definitely return.
Wonderful birthday meal with family. Great food and service
Lovely spot on the river. Food and service was faultless. We will be back!
Delicious food, outstanding service, the best place for a celebratory meal.
Lovely time as we always do. Staff are so attentive and food is absolutely first class.
We had a wonderful breakfast to celebrate my mum's birthday. Sat in the corner, watching the river go by. Food and service excellent.
I HAVE ALREADY RECOMMENDED YOU TO AT LEAST 10 PEOPLE. I THOUGHT IT WAS THE WHOLE EXPERIENCE WAS BRILLIANT, I COULD NOT FAULT ANYTHING ABOUT IT. I ESPECIALLY LOVED THE STAFF. THEY WERE THE BEST RESTAURANT TEAM I CAN REMEMBER. THEY WERE QUIETLY ATTENTIVE, ALWAYS AVAILABLE BUT NEVER INTRUSIVE. THE TRAINING MUST BE EXCELLENT. EVEN THOUGH I LIVE 260 MILES AWAY, I WILL BE BACK.
A really lovely evening. Great food, wine and location. Looking forward to our return.
The starters were divine. I had crab linguine for a main and it was very bland which was disappointing. However I couldn't fault anything else and I would definitely go back but would choose something different.
Incredible food, excellent staff
As always, we had a wonderful time. The set lunch is such good value, and the whole bream was stunningly good. The wines are so reasonably priced for such a great establishment and the service is impeccable.
This was my first visit to the restaurant. I brought my husband for a birthday lunch we had a window seat which was lovely on a beautiful sunny spring day. It felt like a very special treat and I would definitely recommend attending to any friends or family
Good atmosphere and service. Benefit of free parking by restaurant. Food Prices a little expensive, but wine was good and value for money. Would certainly recommend.
We were disappointed with the starters. The mussels were awful, a horrible soft texture and there was very little sauce to help improve them. I gave up on them in the end. Two of my partners's scallops were great but he said the last one was incredibly salty. At £16.95 for 3 scallops not great value. Mains were ok.
