From special occasions to intimate dinners The Restaurant at Sopwell House provides a varied seasonal menu, live music and service worthy of the many accolades it has won.
Went for afternoon tea. Had lovely food and service was good. Very expensive for selection we got and normally if you had a cold drink instead of tea they don't charge but charged us but didn't know till bill came. Lovely staff but had to wait long periods of time for our refills.
The initial staff when we arrived really weren’t very interested in getting us a table outside. Promised to move us when one became available then very bothered. It was a lot worse in the morning breakfast she didn’t even bother to try - terrible senior staff attitude. The waiting staff were excellent
Absolutely brilliant service, food was excellent, although we would have preferred a more even ratio of sandwiches to cakes, if you love cakes then this is definitely a plus though :)
Always love coming to Sopwell house. Great atmosphere
Afternoon tea out in the garden was lovely, the food was great.
The food service and atmosphere were outstanding
Dated restaurant flooring and had a musky smell
I have been for afternoon tea many times and brought friends and family. You are by far one of the best places for afternoon tea. The 'drawing room' is so relaxing and the decor immediately puts you at ease. The service has always been impeccable with nothing too much trouble. This really does go a long way these days hence why I have recommended you to so many of my friends and family. I love the selection of sandwiches and cakes, they are always a delight. Thank you.
We had an afternoon tea hamper and it was full of lots of yummy treats. The hamper was but free because I’m allergic and the waitress knew that and advised us that it was all just free and congratulated us on our wedding anniversary. It was lovely service.
Thank you for a relaxing afternoon.
Have attended many Afternoon teas , birthday meals, spa and Christmas functions over the years . Highly recommend .
The first time that I have visited Sopwell House Hotel for tea and the experience was excellent and I am looking forward to going there again in the near future.
Excellent Birthday afternoon tea Wonderful all round - thank you
Delicious afternoon tea in a lovely location.
A very enjoyable afternoon spent having the most gorgeous afternoon tea! Really lovely friendly staff and tea laid on with an added touch of an anniversary plate with a lovely chocolate cake on it! Really lovely thought! The mini fruit tart was out of this world and we could have gone on eating the scones til the cows came home! Delicious! Highly recommend Sopwell House for this afternoon tea.
A beautiful afternoon spent amongst the stunning white flowered grounds of Sopwell House. Just lovely and will definitely be back again.
£35 seemed very expensive for what it was, had many a afternoon tea but this one didn’t really stand out
Excellent meal and service
Great service and food !
Beautiful food, great service. We were celebrating my wife's birthday and the evening was really memorable and fun. Great job!
Delicious Afternoon Tea, with tasty treats impeccably served, in a calm and relaxing atmosphere. A luxury afternoon at a competitive price. I would thoroughly recommend. It felt very Covid 19 safe and secure. Our one dietary request was fully met, and the delightful sandwiches, cakes/pastries and tea were very delicate, and replenished until we were full. The staff were excellent (good service, friendly, polite, and kept us fully stocked with goodies).
Very disappointing dinner. Bland food. Small portions. Lamb cannon served with uncooked pearl barley!! Mushroom risotto overcooked. Once we complained we were not charged but we won’t return to the restaurant. Spa amazing. Good breakfast. Very helpful staff.
We had a very pleasant afternoon tea on the terrace. The service was excellent as was the safety measures put in place to safeguard against Covid.
