About RedRoaster | Pike & Pine
We’ve re-imagined our cafe at the bottom of St James Street with the help of World Interiors Designer of the Year Hana Hakim. Its now a modern, botanical, tranquil space with brunch and lunch under the direction of Michelin Chef Matt Gillan. We hope you like it.
PIKE & PINE
Pike & Pine is located at the bottom of Brighton's iconic St James's Street, the gateway to Kemptown.
Providing a sharp contrast to the ever bustling city, Pike & Pine transports you to that place of calm we all crave from time to time.
The botanical surroundings, complemented by brass and marble, create an environment perfectly suited to allow diners to fully immerse themselves in the experience of our multi course, seasonal menus, inspired wine selection and creative cocktails.
Sit on our stunning marble counter overlooking Matt and the team in the kitchen, or take in the botanical surrounding and enjoy your meal from our dining room.
For larger parties you can sit at our elevated feature table, with views over our beautifully designed dining area.
Had a great birthday lunch with family and friends. Service, food, drinks were all top notch. Will be coming back very soon
Redroaster is a really special place to eat. Not too formal but beautiful food, service, decor and atmosphere.
We had a great meal at our first visit to Pike and Pine. The food was exceptional, and the staff were warm and welcoming. It felt like an extremely well-run restaurant and we will definitely be back.
Wonderful experience in fab surroundings. We had the October Best £20 three-course menu and it was exceptional value for money. Every course was delicious, service was attentive but unobtrusive and the wine list excellent. Our only niggle was the side dishes arriving late, but these were immediately taken off our bill without us asking.
Great food, service, music and general atmosphere. We all had a great time
Loved it! You can see my Tripadvisor review here: https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/ShowUserReviews-g186273-d12336343-r624159223-Pike_Pine-Brighton_East_Sussex_England.html#SHOW_USER_REVIEW
Great food, great service
Loved it, will be back!
I love Pike and Pine! The food is amazing and the new flexible menu and special offers make it a very affordable place to come
As always a fantastic time at Pike and Pine. The food was sublime and the service was attentive and helpful. We will most definitely return.
Lucky Khao food was wonderful!
Staff friendly and knowledgable. Surroundings relaxing theme and immersive with the planters. Great experience, will visit again 😉
Good everything, food was lovely the service was excellent
We had the bottomless brunch on a Friday, the atmosphere was good, the food was delicious and the staff were friendly. My only critique was that the staff were a little slow at coming back to the table. But overall a very pleasant experience and I will definitely be revisiting.
A perfect meal. Faultless service and delicious food and drinks. Lovely atmosphere. Even though very busy everything arrived at just the right time. Have already recommended pike and pine to anyone that will listen! 😊
Amazing food, wine and cocktails. Lots of variety and it’s nice to be able to share dishes and try new things. Lovely relaxed and welcoming atmosphere and yet another great meal from the extremely talented Matt and the team. I can’t wait to come back again!
We came for a special occasion, and chose a booking at 8.30pm; the main course that we wanted was sold out by then, which is a real shame. Also, the banquette was too low, and whilst we were there, a few couples had to switch seats to feel more comfortable. The service was very good and one of the waiters did something to sort our wobbly table. We ordered one of the dessert the same as the table next to us and ours was very different, which we thought was a bit strange. The food was lovely though so it made up for the details described above.
Food was delicious, but it was the service that made it a really enjoyable and special occasion. Will be recommending!!
The two staff who waited on us were both exceptional. Special mention must go to Beth, whose knowledge of the provenance of the food and wine tasting notes was extensive and shared thoughtfully.
Slow service Cold food Small portion and overpriced Dirty
Excellent night food was superb
Food and service were fantastic - we had a really lovely meal.
Was a beautiful setting with really good food and drink. There could have been a bit more of an atmosphere with some music.
We waited one hour and forty minutes for the second course of the tasting menu. We had to prompt the waitress. I think she forgot us. The open wine wasn't very good, but the food was delicious. I don't understand why a sharing dish for two serves three dumplings... That's not very sharing friendly.
