About The Red Lion
Lisa, Sarah and Cocoa our chocolate Labrador welcome you to The Red Lion, Our cosy country inn is nestled in the heart of the Cotswold village of Long Compton, a place steeped in history and surrounded by beautiful countryside - the perfect destination for any occasion.
Eat in the bar with its charming high backed settles and open inglenook fireplace, or our spacious adjoining restaurant, and choose from our ever-changing seasonal menu or daily specials board. We offer everything from light bites and sandwiches to hearty evening meals, so no matter what your tastes, we have something for everyone.
food very good service excellent
Excellent all round experience. Thank you.
I would definitely recommend this restaurant to visitors to the area-the food was a cut above the usual "pub food' and was promptly and cheerfully served. The bar area has atmosphere-this is quite an old building-and is comfortably furnished. We look forward to visiting again.
I have worked at the pub and also been a patron for many years. I love everything about the Red Lion. Now that I like in Canada, I crave the food daily. Keep it up my friends, you’re all amazing. Cheers!
We went for Father's day lunch. There was no special menu for the occasion which was fine, and the options available from the menu/specials were great. Food was very tasty, and we'd definitely go there again.
Lovely family/dog friendly pub. Delicious food at reasonable prices
Very good service and menu, good quality
Such a lovely pub, very friendly, brilliant menu with lots of choice!
Always consistently superb food, warm and friendly welcome - an absolute gem.
This pub has a fantastic atmosphere which makes the experience. It’s warm, inviting, friendly, relaxed with good honest food and drink.
Fabulous as ever.
The early bird fixed price menu is great value.
We come back time and time again, because you never disappoint us.
Johnathan and his team made the whole Meal a truly wonderful event... So much so we have booked at table in August... WELL DONE TO ALL CONCERNED
Fantastic from booking to the Bill. Staff great Lisa could not be more helpful and accommodating. Stars all round.
We had a lovely family meal, having 8 people all happy with their dining experience is rare, so thank you for making the the day so lovely for us.
If you want quality it's a Fantastic special place from food too atmosphere too staffing, highly reccomend A +++ We booked there and then for another evening.
Lovely setting, excellent food and speedy polite service.
Very good menu choice, quality of food and service.
Another lovely visit, with friends, to the Red Lion. Arrived early for a 7p.m booking and cashed in on the fixed price deal. Will do this again as the food was good and the pub had atmosphere due to other early diners. A good welcome and really pleasant service. Will be back.
At a certain point between the main meal and dessert it took a bit to long maybe until we got asked and in the follow up of course it was running a bit late and we had to give the table away. For the 16£ Sunday Roast I did expect a bit more roast and less sauce. Other then that we really enjoyed it and you have a great garden.
The only thing wrong with the Red Lion is that is 80 miles from where I live which is in Somerset. I only found out about the pub from watching a documentary on the Roll right stones which featured the pub. We made a detour from an overnight stay near Worcester to visit the stones so thought it appropriate to have lunch at the Red Lion. We will come again this time to hopefully stay at the Red Lion.
The Banoffee and Pecan pie was absolutely outstanding!!
Another lovely meal with the family, almost like meeting up in one of our homes everyone so welcoming and friendly!
