Wellllll, quite frankly we’re a little bored of salads and couscous. What’s wrong with the good old blighty Pie and mash with a pint of real ale sat 'round a log fire with your nearest and dearest? Things are all too often forgotten…
So, we decided to take a grand old building down the Newcastle Quayside that had bags of natural character and give it some tender loving care, stoke the fires and stock up for the winter with great ales and Handmade quality pies. Pretty simple really - we’re not complicated chaps, we just care for great food, beer and banter.
Great food, helpful staff and dog friendly. Would definitely recommend!
Nice chilled out atmosphere
Lovely meal, really well organised in the current situation. Signage all really clear and service was great. Thank you very much for a great afternoon meal, hope to see you in the not too distant future.
Excellent service and a good atmosphere.
The girl who served us was very helpful and despite being busy kept checking on us Food was amazing and presented really well The chef who brought the food, was again very attentive and exceptional service
Fab staff, incredibly safe. If you're in one of the front rooms its great for people watching on the quayside. Good wide range of beers.
Friendly polite staff.Food was really nice.Good selection of drinks.
I am a big big fan of the red house but was very disappointed by my pie - the mushroom and leek. It was extremely dry and unpleasant, I have a feeling this was a vegan pie although it was only listed as vegetarian which would explain the dryness. however as this is the first time I’ve ever been unhappy with a pie there I didn’t complain and it won’t put me off going back and trying something else. The pints and staff were lovely as always, they did what they could in regards to Covid - asking whether we were one household and using paper menus.
Due to Covid restrictions, Newcastle town was very quiet but this did not detract from the service we received at Redhouse. We did not eat so cannot comment on the food. Hubby was happy as he enjoyed the ale selection on offer. If you are looking for an old style pub full of character then I can recommend Redhouse.
Happy with everything
Excellent service with v sensible adjustments for covid. Very good pub with good beer
Amazing food and great service
Great bar , stuck to restrictions great service
The Redhouse is our favourite bar on the Quayside. The staff are hardworking and friendly and always offer a bowl of water to our gorgeous dog 🐕 ❤
Fantastic rabbit Warren of a pub with loads of character.
Great place. We always like to visit when we are in Newcastle. Handling the latest covid conditions well also
The booking system was excellent and the whole social distancing experience was well organised and safe. We will come again.
Cracking bar, very COVID friendly.
Fab views of Tyne bridge
Unbelievable pie and mash. The only downfall was the atmosphere but that’s not red house fault we can blame borris and COVID
Love this place and it's quirky seating areas. Great pies and great wine .
Excellent service in a horrible month to work in the hospitality industry.
Great drinks range and bartenders/servers all have decent craic importantly. Food was very good, only regret was not ordering more!
