Racines, located on the fifth floor, is a place offering a Chic Bistronomie. It features an interactive, casual chic dining experience where guests will experience a distinctive culinary journey with animation as a key element.
Racines will have a completely different look and feel from breakfast at night, when soft touches such as changes of table settings and uniforms create an entirely new ambiance. The restaurant will be informal yet innovative, with each show kitchen brought to life by chefs in action. The focus will be on French and local modern cuisine, prepared with authentic tastes and recipes using sustainable (local) and seasonal products. Fresh herbs and honey will come from the hotel garden and apiary which surround the space.
A selection of signature waters from around the world will be presented and served with the choice of berries, lime, lemon or mint.
Wine matches will be carefully selected to complement each dish.
All guest will receive a ‘Farewell Gift’ to ensure the last memory of Racines is not the payment. This gift can be for example a ‘brioche with jam for breakfast’ presented in a beautiful box with a compliment note from the Executive Chef.
Went for Easter Brunch. Interesting and wide selection. Service attentive. Nice ambience. Food good.
Very happy, definitely will come back. We were very happy with the service, everyone was smiling and kids had a good time in the kids corner.
A lovely Easter brunch!
Fantastic place, view, ambience and atmosphere. Love the high ceilings and simple decor.
To improve on the Chinese menu . I ordered first Hokkien mee and turned out too salty. It was changed and became satisfying second time. French menu was excellent to us. Keep it up .
My family and I love to have our breakfast at Racines because the staff always make us feel so welcomed and so well taken care of. Thank you Team Racines!!
Food selection is limited Should have option to include al carte items as set lunch. No problem to set a higher cost to include these items
As Dr. Michael Lim The Travelling GOurmet TM, international Travel, Food and Wine Writer/Editor/Blogger/Vlogger/International Wine Judge, I know good food when I see, smell and savor it! Ravishing Racines which means Roots in French is one of my most favourite places for good food, to watch the sunrise and sunset and to chill out with good friends...Roots here are not the dirty soil encrusted roots of weeds BUT the beautiful fruits, vegetables and flowers/fleurs and herbs that GROW from the dirty roots. OK, so I am not known for being politically correct WTH! French or Asian Kitchen the choice is yours to make! I like all! Bread basket is superbe with Ciabatta, Baguette (what else?), Olive Bread and more...NO cancer causing palm oil margarine but the REAL deal a very special BUTTER from France (where else) plus premium Extra Virgin Olive Oil and Balsamico di Modena from Italia (Si, where else mi amici?) Have their Grand Marnier Souffle and then sing “Je ne regrette rien!” Chef Edwin Seow is talented! :-)
I asked for the menu a few days before the Sunday lunch to know what I will be eating. The cooked food is significantly different (worse) from what was listed on the menu. I specifically asked for an accurate menu. What was sent was deceiving and misleading. Ingredients let down by sub-standard cooking for the Chinese and Western cooked food sections, perhaps due to the young kitchen crew. Some exanples: The foie gras was served in a small puddle of oil, the exterior was not quite charred/crisp and the veins within were not removed. The prime rib looked impressive but the taste was just "blah", forgettable. The fishes were dry and tough. The little bits of garnishes on the fishes do not help in the taste department, and even the gravy has ?evaporated due to the dish sitting out on the counter for too long. The temperature of the cooked food was a let down. They were at most at room temperature, which rapidly cool down to air-con cold by the time I walked back to my table. Who expects to eat cold cooked food at a restaurant in a 5* hotel? The cooked food looked like they were on the counter for hours before the start of the buffet. A "skin" has formed on the surface of the gravy, which is nearly evaporated. The noodles are nearly turning crispy from air drying. Even the skin of peas are wrinkled dry. One sees better food on display at food courts. Why don't you cover up the dishes? I nearly cancelled and walked off when I saw those food. The sections that do not need much cooking (salads, cold seafood, charcuterie, cheeses) are still ok. The snow crab legs and the crabs were quite tasteless, not sweet, probably because they were soaked in ice water for too long. Service staff was ok. It was telling when the restaurant was so empty. Disappointing.
Good quality food and superb service from the attentive staff. Value for money.
Food was generally good and portion to me was just nice. The only set back was waited for an hour for the soufflé (menu indicate 15mins wait) and have to cancel in the end. Overall we do enjoy the food and ambiance.
Staffs are polite and attentive. Will come back again.
A really enjoyable evening and great place to take friends.
Superb service and food. I like that the menu changes monthly.
Great job on the awesome cocktail menu. The beef cheek and cod are amazing
The beef lunch was disappointing in that one third of the beef could not be eaten due to the fats/tendons but the Chef was kind enough to offer another piece of steak as replacement. Good customer service recovery
Nice dinner menu that was better than the lunch menu
Wonderful service! Absolutely topnotch. Decor spectacular as well. Heartened by their commitment to earth hour, dimming the lights after sharing with the diners the reason. Food was pretty good, would highly recommend the pigeon.
Very good serving (size). Ambience is very good. I do wish that the coffee is not the Nespresso coffee. We had Hokkien mee, lobster bisque; and the crabe was especially good. The bread and butter were of very good quality. Please keep up the good standard! Thank you also for observing Earth Hour.
Food was good & value for money. Recommendations made were good but for the $180 1kg beef to be shared by 2-4 paxs, it is too big for 2 paxs and will be good to have portion for 2 paxs. We had a hard time looking for the hotel car park entrance where there should be a sign to say that Sofitel car park entrance is the same as the shared Tanjong Pagar Centre. From the car park to the hotel lift lobby, signage was not clear too & we had to go to various lift lobbies in the car park area to find the correct hotel lobby.
The services from your staff is excellent. While waiting at the lobby before the restaurant open for lunch, we already felt welcome and the friendliness.
Service is great!
Thanks Pei Yi and her supervisor for a wonderful dinner for our family.
staff were kind, ambience good
