RACINES - LUNCH & DINNER
Racines, located on the fifth floor, is a place offering a Chic Bistronomie. It features an interactive, casual chic dining experience where guests will experience a distinctive culinary journey with animation as a key element.
Racines will have a completely different look and feel from breakfast at night, when soft touches such as changes of table settings and uniforms create an entirely new ambiance. The restaurant will be informal yet innovative, with each show kitchen brought to life by chefs in action. The focus will be on French and local modern cuisine, prepared with authentic tastes and recipes using sustainable (local) and seasonal products. Fresh herbs and honey will come from the hotel garden and apiary which surround the space.
A selection of signature waters from around the world will be presented and served with the choice of berries, lime, lemon or mint.
Wine matches will be carefully selected to complement each dish.
All guest will receive a ‘Farewell Gift’ to ensure the last memory of Racines is not the payment. This gift can be for example a ‘brioche with jam for breakfast’ presented in a beautiful box with a compliment note from the Executive Chef.
Wonderful n pleasant dining experience w good food n attentive staff
not to my expectation, will not go again.
I was at Racines to celebrate a wedding anniversary with my wife and we had very mixed feelings about the place. On the one hand, the food was marvellous. All the dishes were nothing short of excellent, with an amazing selection of dessert as well. However, the service left a bad taste in our mouths. The service was slow and inattentive, and we had to ask multiple times for the food that we had ordered as it had apparently been forgotten. Overall, great food, if you can overlook the poor service.
Time waited for the food to be served was too slow
14-Jul was the French national day coincidentally but the embarrassment thrown onto me by the service staff was uncoincidental. The revamped brunch was multi-priced based on diner's selected requirements for preferred food category and beverage package. I had enquired before consuming any food whether the entire party has to go with the same selection. They hostess replied very quickly "No". Halfway through my meal, a secretive lady captain Gee whispered to her subordinate. The waitress was pushed to inform my table that No Sharing (of main course) allowed. The waitress' words and delivery were not at all offensive as I did not nibble at all nor ate any hot food/main dishes that my other dining party had chosen to pay supplement. Gee had no guts but such audacity as opposite of me to remind guests or say, insult? Almost ending my meal I had ordered a coffee and tea for the party of 2. Minutes later a Mr. Push came along to check if those were on a la carte basis or that I like to supplement with a beverage package. He was unfortunately turned down since the Hotel Phone Operator conveyed that single-serve of coffee/tea per diner is included in the meal when I rang to confirm before I set off from home to brunch. Push's reply made it such that he will accommodate me and serve those complimentary. Goodness gracious, your menu price listed beverage package without a word of coffee/tea. It was his misfortune that I had to tell him directly about Gee's discriminating act and the brunch was total disaster. The last straw was when I insisted he had to take my phone number and get back to me after investigation. No time frame was voluntarily provided by Push for which I feel sad. The death of f&b service in Singapore proven once again.
Food portions are small, nice attention to plating. Service can improved , we were a group of 10 pax and there weren’t enough menus. servers were trying their best but looked like in a rush , probably due to understaffed situation? Appreciate the corner table which allowed privacy and low noise level. Suggest that the local hawker stall booths could be removed during dinner time which is more fitting of fine dining venue.
Great service and ambience. Food was well presented and flavorful. For French menu, those who prefer meat on main course, it would be nice to have alternative to change to beef if they don't eat lamb. Overall review 👍and will be back soon.😀
Atmosphere - we were seated on the couches just behind the coffee machine. It was so near the kitchen that it was awfully noisy with the banging of pots and pans and especially from the kwali. We could also smell the cooking from our seats and the chefs certainly added to the noise with their banter. Food - the lobster bisque, beef cheek and Chinese cod were lovely. Duck confit was dry. Best part of the meal was the walnut and lemon bread... best ever. Drink - we were disappointed with the choice of red wine on the list. Did not suit our palate despite the hefty price. Definitely had better ones elsewhere and cheaper. Service - Shenkar and his crew were just lovely. Attentive and efficient. 5 stars to them. Can't say this about your receiving party at the front. Gosh she was so moody; almost rude. Please do remind her that she is the first who guests get to meet. It would do wonders for the evening if she can start it with a smile. Even the junior service staff did better than her. Value - the overall experience was just average. I am actually disappointed as my previous visit was much better. Ambience was a let down; too noisy from the kitchen. At times it feels like we were in a local coffee shop with a zi-char stall rather than a "CHIC BISTRONOMIE". BTW, we did not receive any Farewell Gifts as stated in your description of the restaurant. Zilch on both my visits.
If I could give more than 5 stars for the service, I would. The food quality was amazing, our waiter for the night was top notch (I forgot to get his name). This restaurant is underrated and deserves a higher reputation.
Attentive waitress. Friendly and nice. Loves the recommendations on the menu. Excellent service.
Good place for lunch.
We had an early dinner on a weekday. Food and Service top.
Interesting menu featuring French and Chinese takes on the same ingredients, matched with a cosy dining ambience and impeccable service.
I really love the atmosphere, service and food. Every month the set lunch course menu changes, you can mix and match your course, its french and chinese cuisine. The Manager Charmine served me 3 times when I was there with my President and colleagues, she is excellent in her service and attitude.
Overall very average. The eggplant Chinese style were not really good. Rest of the food is good but this is what you expect from that price-tag.
Great dining experience. Keep up the good work.
It’s always a gastronomic experience dining at Racines. The 3-course set lunch is quality fine-dining! Each course is lovingly-made and thought is put into the presentation. I’ve enjoyed every single time I’ve dined at Racines and it’s the place to bring people you want to impress!!
We have Ala Carte lunch with French & Chinese combination. Food was really amazing and delicious.
We enjoyed the Sunday Brunch. It was an unusual setup as it was a semi buffet with a choice of options for a la carte plus options for drinks packages. We chose the premium option which allowed us to order anything from the menu. The food was nice but not exceptional and some of the serves were comically small, while others like the chow Kwai tow were huge. Service was good and they kept my champagne topped up. Also appreciated the bar tender approaching me to offer a cocktail. Desserts were plentiful and pretty tasty. I think it was fairly pricey for what it offered compared to other options where similar food is offered in full buffet style.
I would consider coming back occasionally with my family The food was wonderful and it’s something we have never tried before.
Impeccable service, delicious cod fish in french style. Prefect place for a celebration.
The staff is attentive and friendly.
