About Rachel's Restaurant
Our purpose at Rachel’s is to serve simple, naturally produced and delicious tasting food from the local Cork area. Where possible our vegetables, fruit and herbs are picked then delivered every morning from our organic farm at Ballymaloe.
Our fish is landed daily from the waters of Ballycotton, our pork is reared by Darran Allen on his farm in Shanagarry, our chickens are reared by Robert Fitzsimons in East Ferry on his free range pastures and we have a hand full of local farmers providing high quality beef and lamb from in the east cork area.
Very happy with the food and friendly service. Only suggestion was the menu for Saturday evening was a little limited in terms of options but it was of a very good quality across the 3 courses. Well done and the best of luck with this.
We had our anniversary dinner here. The food was excellent, we enjoyed it very much. A couple of things we didn't expect. We arrived at 6.15 for the early bird menu. Early bird wasn't offered that day since they were going to close the restaurant for a few weeks. While it's not a big issue, updating the page with the information would've been nice. My wife and I made arrangements to be on time for our dinner. We were surprised also that there was no drinks menu, only for wine.
Very good, gorgeous food!!
Service was very slow from the kitchen, it was very busy and this is understandable but it took over an hour for our mains. The service from the waiting staff was superb and offered a complimentary beverage as a thank you for our patience. The atmosphere was influenced by the noise level which was people talking over the piano playing.
Hi I was disappointed as i was taking a friend for her 50th Birthday. As we we being shown to a table in the bar not restaurant the lady was cleaning it leaving her spray bottle on couch behind .It had only one other table occupied at the time so i would have thought table would have being ready as booked two weeks in advance .The food choice was very limited but what we got was nice but nothing unusual.I feel a lot more could be done there to attract more customers as i have knowledge as im in the catering business myself.
Food was average , seating was uncomfortable and I felt we didn’t receive good value
Superb food, expensive and very filling for all dishes on the table
We really enjoyed everything about he restaurant. Food, drink and service all excellent.
I am glad you asked for my feedback - I feel that your waiting staff (or at least the person who serviced us) need more training in the basics. We arrived early to an empty restaurant so there's no excuse for poor service. When we were shown to the table we were given the food menu (by the way an A4 sheet of paper screams cheap) - we weren't given the wine list or told what the specials were. We did eventually get the wine list and ordered a bottle of wine and a glass of cider - We received our starters but no drinks. I had to ask the waitress for our drinks but they didn't arrive until after we had finished our starters - that's a first for me! As for the food the Mozzarella and Tomato Salad is not fine dinning the - the rest of our meal was fine. Overall I can't say that I will be returning to Rachels or recommending it to a friend.
Amazing food, totally amazing, thank you. Staff were great on service, so polite and engaging, a bit more checking back for drinks would have been good, took ages to pay our bill when we needed to go. You may be under staffed, appreciate you have to manage the restaurant but my second time in three months with business clients this takes away from the superb food. Charge more for food to pay for more staff! I will still come back because you are one of the best and authentic restaurants in Cork (but don't ignore the staffing)
All round an excellent experience. The food was delicious and the service very thoughtful - it was my wife’s birthday and we were given a surprise desert with a candle on.
lovely lunch..better buzz at night..however will go back for the ..! Brunch
A delightful stop on our journey, well worth the battle of city traffic and parking
Very good, tasty, honest and wholesome food. Our sever was friendly and efficient. Really good value for money considering the quality of the food. This was our third time in Rachel's, once for lunch and our second visit for Dinner and all very consistent. Rachel's is now our official favourite Cork restaurant!
I’ve been to Rachel’s a few times now and have never been disappointed. The service and the food have always been excellent. I’ve been there in a big group too and still everything was perfect. So wether it’s a table for 2 or for 10 it doesn’t disappoint. Will definitely be back very soon
We had a lovely dinner at Rachel's sat outside as it was too hot to eat inside. The food was exquisite and the staff were all very efficient and friendly! Would definitely go back if I were to visit Cork again.
Great meal, had the arancini starter, lamb for main course and the brownie got dessert. Service was great, food delicious! Started for cocktails outside afterwards and the waitress was fab.
The only reason atmosphere came in at 2 stars is because it was so quiet, there was only out table of 4 and 1 other couple so it was a bit lacking. Was pricy but for the quality of the food it was well worth it. Can't wait to go back!
The service was unbelievably slow. We went at Sunday lunchtime and the place was empty but it took 40 minuets before any food appeared apart from a plate of brown bread and humble apologies from the waitress.
A great night out wit wonderful staff and superb food
Nice buzzy feel, like that menu is concise. Was only there for lunch. Will definitely be there again.
we enjoyed ourselves sommelier was fantastic good service, food was good perhaps a few more choices as specials each day would be great?
Friendly staff, relaxing setting, central location, very good food.
Very enjoyable meal.
