Gone. Bankrupt and shut down.
We had a fab time and you were amazing to us. Would say that I would recommend getting some boxes so people can take their leftovers home xx
Great service and lovely food, I don't ever order squid but did on this accasion, beautiful dish... Thought it was slightly overpriced but my only criticism...
Very enjoyable afternoon tea, staff were very attentive.
great food but lacking people after 8 oclock
We booked this as we were worried that we might not get a table for four as a walk in. We were wrong. We were greeted by staff who seemed both startled and extremely nervous. No problem though. The waiter told us to sit in the window, when we declined this seat he seemed quite upset and his demeanour changed. Drinks menus appeared. We were told the options were on the cocktail list or the wine list. We had a 6 yr old and a 4yr old. I enquired to see if they had any apple juice. Waiter went off to see if they had. They had! Hooray! No mention of apple juice, or any other soft drinks on any of the drinks menus. Also no beers or ciders ??? I find that not having these options on a menu is strange in the least. Food. The food was ‘nice’. Nothing special but well prepared and tasty. Now, we understand that it’s a lunch menu but the portions were tiny, especially the children’s portions. My 6yr old was still hungry after leaving and this was after helping me with my fries too! Now, this is the strangest bit. Whilst we were in the restaurant, 3 different parties totalling 10 people came into the restaurant, sat down, looked at the menu then promptly got up and left!! The decor was nice. The restaurant was spotlessly clean as were the toilets. Would I come again ? Possibly.
The quality of the service was very good. One of the waiters could have been more relaxed. However, to give him his due, by the end of the evening, after our meal, we had a very pleasant conversation.
We, and our guests, thoroughly enjoyed our evening in the Empress Room. The food was terrific and the service exemplary. Both Kane and Robert were very professional, friendly, and clearly knew what they were doing. They made the whole thing extra special.
I booked a table of 8 for a pre-theatre meal last Thursday and can say that all of members of the party enjoyed the food and the experience. All agreed that the menu was good value for money. What would have given this review 5stars all round would have been if there were more than one choice of Vegan on the menu and if you could have identified which wines /beverages were also vegan. Unfortunately I forgot to bring my mobile to check online and the waiter was unaware that most wines contain fish in their process making. A special mention must be made for Cara (front of house) for giving us a refreshing, witty and warm welcome and service. We will return....please consider the vegan issues Regards Linda Ryan
Amazing food - beautiful place. I wish you were busier - you deserve to be!! Xx
Delicious food Great service
An excellent experience. We were in the Beatrice room for a private team dinner for 10. The evening could not have been bettered. Food exceeded expectations beautifully presented and all v tasty. Room perfect for the occasion. Very good value for money. And service professional but relaxed and friendly.. 11 out of 10!
First visit but won't be the last. Very impressed.
This was my first time at the Victoria Arts Club and I thought the service and quality of the food was very good. I did feel there should have been more food with the mains. We all had the steak, which only came with a sauce and small salad so we had to order some sides to make a complete meal. The sides were quite dear, which I felt lessened the value for money element.
Lovely food. Great service.
Private function downstairs. We arrived at 7:15 and the staff had to check the room was ready, we were left waiting a little longer whilst this was done - we had the booking from 7pm, surely the room should’ve been ready way before our arrival? Bar service was a little slow at times, but there was only one guy serving a party of 50+. Last orders were called at 11:30 - I stated to another member of staff (different from the one bar man) that our room booking was until 1pm so last orders shouldn’t be so early, surely? This was soon resolved and put down to a misunderstanding I believe. The room itself was lovely, good atmosphere, clean, tidy and comfortable. Staff were very helpful with queries, playing music etc. Drinks were reasonably priced. All in all a positive experience. Will definitely consider again for future events. Thank you.
Booked for pre-theatre meal and had a wonderful meal. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Food excellent and prices very good. Will definitely be back. Thank you
We were looked after really well and the food was delicious. Would definitely use your place again for a training day
Great location and nicely set out.
Fantastic, stylish restaurant with lovely, helpful staff. Nothing is too much trouble for them, and the food is lovely. Great cocktail menu, extensive wine list, and fab atmosphere.
Really enjoyed our lunch and I have booked again for next mo th
Really helpful with assisting with my needs for a gluten free diet as I am a coeliac.
It would have been nice if one side with two meals
We were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The American lady was wonderful throughout (didn't catch her name) Our server was quite quiet (but pleasant and friendly. The food was delicious, my chicken was juicy and succulent, my partner said the lamb was the best he'd had. I indulged in the chocolate crepe for dessert and, oh boy, I could happily eat it every day for the rest of my life (alas, calories) We will definitely be returning. Keep up the good work!
5* all round! We booked for lunch before our viewing of War Horse at The Curve Theatre. The restaurant is located directly opposite the theatre so in a perfect location! The service was fast and super efficient, and there was a lovely afternoon dining, relaxed atmosphere. Both myself and my friend had the lunch deal of 3 courses for £13.95 and we certainly wasn’t disappointed! Every dish was fantastic! And extremely good value for money! Would recommend to anyone in the area or anybody looking for a place to grab some food before the theatre!
