Very nice hotel, staff were very friendly and helpful. We stayed in a family suite, plenty of space, beds were very comfortable. Great selection of tv channels for both adults & children & WiFi was great. Breakfast was amazing, one of the best we ever had. Great location in Athlone.

Very well located modern hotel on the quayside. Easy walking distance of castle, gallery cathedral and boat trips. Some nice walks along the riverside.

My wife and I were very disappointed with your hotel and also with members of your staff who seem to believe that they are doing guests a favour by allowing them to have food and drink in your hotel. We were quoted laws that don't exist namely that food had to be ordered the moment you sat down and only then were you allowed to enjoy a few drinks (don't see any mention that you cannot have a few drinks before ordering your meal in the regulations) Also that you couldn't have a nightcap in the foyer without ordering food. If you interpret the regulations properly as all other hotels we have stayed in recently have none of these "laws" as ye're staff call them apply. Also these staff members constantly blamed the gardai for enforcing all these activities including having to order a meal the minute you sit down which I thought misrepresented the Gardai's measured response to the enforcement of this pandemic. In reality it suits these staff members to get you in and out quickly and who cares that guests are trying to wear the greenjersey and staycation as requested. The other reason we booked your hotel was to use the pool which was out of service from 3pm Wednesday to 12 noon Friday.. Again we got no explanation for this and again the attitude was so tough luck the hotel isn't responsible. Finally I always review places I stay at and this is by far the worst review I have ever given to any property.
Thank you for your review, I was sorry to read of your experience. Regrettably, due to extenuating circumstances the pool was closed for a period of time which I appreciate was disappointing for you. Please accept our sincere apologies that this was not communicated to you clearly. Despite frequent government advice specific to this industry there seems to be a misconception that hotels can operate in a different way to that specified in the current Covid-19 guidelines. This is not the case. Under the current guidelines we are only legally permitted to serve alcohol on our premises with a substantial meal. This applies to all hotels and restaurants at this time. We feel that we have adopted a reasonable approach to this mindful of providing a fit and proper standard of service whilst fulfilling our obligation to our guests, staff and by extension the wider community. I’m not sure in what context the Gardai were mentioned in your dealings with the staff, however as you quite rightly point out the Gardai have been appropriately measured in their policing of restrictions throughout the period of the lockdown and the reopening thereafter. I can confirm that we have been subject to Covid inspections from our local Gardai which we welcome as it is a support to our endeavours to operate in a Covid-19 compliant environment. I would like point out that we are currently operating in a very different world which has brought added stress to the work that the staff do and though they may have come across as rude please be assured this was completely unintentional. I sincerely appreciate you bringing your comments to my attention and we do hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future for a more enjoyable stay.
This was our 2nd stay and really enjoyed it. The only disappointment was we booked to use the swimming pool yesterday at 2pm and my kids were excited to use the pool I had the day planned out for them. When we arrived the pool was closed and I was disappointed we were not contacted before that so if I was aware we could of booked something else to do so I was very disappointed as it upset our plans for the day....
We enjoyed a lovely lunch in safe and comfortable surroundings. The staff member who served us was helpful and friendly. We will be back

Can't fault the staff at all. Can't thank them enough either. Any issue, of which was few, no problem at all to resolve. First class from start to finish. We have had 3 nights here and still would stay longer. Big thanks to all the staff, too many to mention by name. These guys need a proper thank you from the Radisson group.

Atmosphere was poor no background music, service for drink was slow. Staff were very pleasant

SO dissapointed with Radisson Blu. Definitely NOT a 4 star hotel! They couldn't find our booking when we arrived. Could not stay in family room on 5th floor cos of constant vibrating noise. New rooms not aired and musty. One bathroom no air filter so if someone uses toilet there's a lingering smell that comes into bedroom. Breakfast staff need to be assigned tables instead of running round like headless chickens. Had to ask 4 diff people before cereal arrived. Dinner was a joke. Ordered 2 adults and 2 kids meals Over an hour before 2 kids meals arrived. 10 mins later same kids meals arrived, 10 mins later 1 adult meal. 20 mins later finally last meal arrived. When checking out only 1 person at reception desk so irate people in queue. TOTAL DISASTER FROM START TO END.

The first nite we had dinner i asked for chicken as an extra got no chicken . My fiance asked for no tomato in her salad she got it in both salads . I ordered a drink there was lipstick all over top of glass. The next morning ordered breakfast to room scramble eggs not done rite bacon not cook much and got no spicy potatoes . Then the second nite we choose to eat out as first day wasnt great and came back to hotel around 9.15 to be told in bar we couldnt be served as we were not looking to eat we said we buy food and we couldnt as kitchen was closed the girl said to us so we as hotel guest were not allowed to sit in the bar to have a drink. Didnt find this very good at all as we were spending money all weekend in hotel and felt so stupid having to leave the bar area at 9.30 after paying nearly 400 euro for our room and over 100 euro in bar first day . Just felt very disapointed over all.

Had a lovely time in the Radisson Blu Athlone as usual.The staff were in super covid mode & had all angles covered.We felt safe & happy during our stay. It was really enjoyable & a big thank you to all departments.It was so lovely after been stuck at home for the last while to get away for a relaxing treat in the Radisson.👏🖐👍

Service was positively dreadful. Staff we re not at all trained. No condiments provided and waited 20 minutes to get one!!! miserable grain of salt Waited a further 30 mins to get a refill glass of water and eventually tried to get it myself and was advised it was table service only, which was non existant. However I will say the staff were friendly. Certainly a lot of room for improvement needed by management
Had brunch here today with 3 friends. Staff very welcoming while adhering to Covid safety guidelines.Had choice of indoor or outdoor dining. We chose indoors as it was quite breezy but the patio area overlooks the Shannon and the views are very pleasant so on a Summers day it's a good choice. The lounge area is very spacious so ideal for meeting up. Food was delicious too.
Breakfast was lovely, a lovely selection from continental to your hot breakfast. All freshly cooked. Dinner was ok, I got the lasagne, but it was very dried out. Apple crumble for desert was mostly all crumble. Other than that could not fault anything. Will definitely be back again.
