About Proud Cabaret Brighton
Take a journey through Brighton, up in to Kemptown and discover the secrets of Proud Cabaret Brighton!
The finest food is served every Friday and Saturday whilst the best of Brighton's (and a bit further afield) burlesque, live music and cabaret scene enchant your eyes with a 3 hour show. Once the show is over and dinner is finished, the restaurant is cleared and the DJ and after party begin!
Our Restaurant serves exquisite classics ‐ ample meat, fish and vegetarian dishes. Delicious sides, puddings and a well‐chosen selection of fine wines complete our wonderfully rounded menu.
A standard service charge of 12.5% will be payable on the amount of your final bill at the end of the evening.
Venue was fantastic. Service was great. Performances were entertaining. Food was awful, completly lacked flavour. The Menu choices were poor. When we received the menu beforehand we were expecting the food to be terrible and we were correct. Cocktails were overpriced. Overall the night could be a lot better if the food was kept simple.
we were a little disappointed with the standard of food for the price payed. However, great entertainment and service given all night with a lively atmosphere.
It is a shame there weren't more people there, to create a better atmossphere. Thoroughly enjoyed our evening though, as always. Thank you. Jenny and Paul
Amazing night thank you to you and your staff !
fabulous staff , very welcoming. . beer too expensive , but i forgive you. cabaret cheeky , very inventive and eccentric , which i loved. all girls need to have petals in these special places........ truely . great fun for raising eyebrows and ladies evening wear ..
The food was average, but more than made up by the great atmosphere and service. The show was suitably fabulous, and walking into the venue was like walking back in time - loved it! Unfortunately the DJ playing after the show was a little hit and miss - he seemed unable to read the audience and tailor his music accordingly which was a bit disappointing, but despite this a good time was had by all.
A fantastic night at Proud Cabaret, it is great that there is something different other than a meal or drinks in a bar to chose from. The only "disappointment" was the DJ he found a bass beat and stuck with it! Variety is the spice of life. Having said that we will be returning very soon.
The food was absolutely delicious and the show was fun. We booked on a 2 for 1 offer for six of us. We turned up later than first anticipated, and the staff were really accomodating. There was some slight confusion over the wine list and we werent able to get clear recommendations as to what to go with because the staff hadn't tried most on the new list. Aside from that, it was a great experience and would highly recommend!
We had the most fabulous evening. All staff were very attentive and made us feel special. The food and drink were superb and the entertainment was top class. We will definitely book to come again.
Disappointingly, we received a phone call the day before the event to say that evening had been cancelled. It was booked as a special treat for husband, so the last-minute cancellation left us hunting around for an alternative restaurant with very little notice. I believe the deposit we paid is being refunded, but haven't had any news of this yet.
Over all extremely good Evening
Be prepared for them not to open and cancel you with just 24 hours notice, having even taking some of the deposit on the day before - Poor!
Fabulous atmosphere and great staff, would have liked the club later to have carried the musical theme for a while perhaps? Thoroughly recommend it, great fun!
Disappointed by the show last Saturday but only because I have experienced the delight of Proud on previous occasions. My friends were very happy but we were dismayed by the early loss the phenomenal female compere, the poor juggler and the lack of burlesque performers (I had promised many!). The food and DJ were enjoyed and my friends felt that Proud was a very unique and satisfying venue.
Amazing night, very expensive but worth it! Beautiful food but slightly small portions. Would have loved a little bit more on the plate. Amazing show would go again and again.
We booked proud brighton for a Thursday evening and were very excited about attending the show 50 shades. We also booked the grand hotel as a treat to ourselves. We were called up by a member of the Brighton team the night before the show (Wednesday approx 7pm) to be told that the show was cancelled as they did not have enough customers. We were told there were large cancellations due to good weather. I find this difficult to believe seeing as a deposit is taken when you book of £10 per person that is non refundable. The fact that we were travelled to brighton, paid a deposit, chosen our meal and paid for a hotel meant nothing. All I was told was 'I apologise' by the member of staff which added insult to injury. Very disappointed - lack of empathy and customer service !
We were a hen party. We all had an absolutely wonderful time, the food was great, the staff were lovely, the performers were excellent, and our bride has been smiling from ear to ear today. Just so much fun!
food was ok, but only one choice vegetarian was poor. drinks were an extortionate price and cocktails had a few complaints. entertainment wise, but man badly juggling the hats and the size zero one with the insects were absolutely awful, embarrassingly so. the gold lame man and the large breasted lady were amazing, the burlesque cocoa woman was ok, but it was cheap rather than classy burlesque. as for the service charge of 12.5% don't even get me started. Really out of order and refused to pay. sadly was disappointed over all, would not recommend to a friend
We believe there were a few problems with our booking. This started when i receievd two emails weeks apart asking for our meal choices, we answered both so were not sure what meal we would be getting as the menus were different. When we were seated we were given drinks menus and the waiter took our order. It was a long time for our drinks to get to the table, before the drinks had arrived the waiter returned and asked if we are ready for our starter, we were. He then came back to take our menu cards from our table, which made us think there was a problem.Drinks finally arrived, we had finshed our drinks before our starter arrived but were not asked if we would like more.We had noticed that two tables that arrived after us had already had and finished their own starters. We asked a passing waiter for a bottle of Prosecco, this didn't arrive, some twenty minutes later the same waiter came to our table and asked if we had had our prosecco we said no, he disappeared and returned directly with a bottle in a cooler which he placed on the table and walked away. The bottle was warm, not opened and we had no glasses. We presumed he would be returning with glasses, he did not. Our food waiter came to clear our starter plates and we asked if we could have a cold bottle of prosecco and some glasses, he did this for us opened the bottle at the table and poured for us. The evening show started then so the lights were down and our main course arrived so we had been there an hour and a half on one drink and a starter. The main was peppered tenderloin of pork, it was luke warm not peppered and swimming in oil and I think, soya or oyster sauce. We ate it as we were absolutely starving. Plates were cleared when the first part of the show was over and dessert came along swiftly. The starter and dessert were lovely, the main very bad. The show was entertaing and the following DJ was very good. Reading this may have been tideous, so maybe you can empathise with how we were feeling.
I have been here twice now and really enjoyed food and entertainment both times. Always a great atmosphere and friendly staff. Gorgeous decor, fab for a something different and a special night out.
Excellent. No complaints at all. Will be back Many thanks. Paul x
It would have been good to know about the service charge before as in a group it can be hard to work out the bill.
Entertainment was spoilt by multiple long gaps between performances. Service was so slow that we ended up eating our main course in the dark (after the cabaret had started)!
A brilliant night, very good value for money.
