Lobster linguine was fantastic. Absolutely beautiful flavours. Sad to hear Privé is closing down. We all hope the same menu will return again once everything is settled!
Small things make a big difference? Who was the bright spark manager who decided to get rid of the pretty little mirrored bling coaster that came with the Kir Royale champagne cocktail? Not classy enough? Well, some of us like a little bit of bling and I'm one of those who looked forward to this tiny little extra special touch. Management really does focus on the smallest things sometimes that they should just leave alone. What is the harm of leaving that coaster alone? Rhys served us and was his usual wonderful self - big brownie points to that lad for his unwavering commitment to service. He deserves a promotion to maitre d'....he's the only staff member who I consistently admire at that restaurant. I hope next time I return, I can have my little "value add" back when I order that Kir Royale.
Gino and all the staff at Prive249 were just outstanding and so was the food! It was my husbands birthday and no detail was too small for the team, they are truly great! The happy birthday dessert was such a beautiful touch. Thank you for making a lovely night even more amazing! We will be back! Compliments to the chef as everything we ate was superb.
Rhys was very good. The food was great would come again.
The food was amazing the service however was not what I expected of a fine dining establishment.
Romantic and intimate, stunning view and great service. Music played created a very enjoyable atmosphere
Very enjoyable evening
The evening was made very pleasant by the lovely staff and great meals. Try the Leamington cocktail for dessert, it's fantastic.
New Chef..new menu..great food
Limited menu, but the food was presented beautifully and tasted great.
Entree's were absolutely amazing but my main of Kingfish very underwhelming. Fish was overcooked and the meal needed some sort of a sauce as it was very dry. The charred lettuce on my husbands duck was very unappetising but fine after it was removed.
Thankyou for a wonderfully enjoyable dinner. The ambiance was refreshing
Apart from the scotch fillet that had a lot of gristle, it was a fantastic evening. Reese was our waiter and he was very helpful. I chose the dishes he recommended and was pleasantly surprised.
It was Day 1 of the new menu, the tuna tartare was good, the King fish was over cooked :-(, lamb was great, duck breast was ok, lobster linguini was good, scotch fillet steak was good (not as good as the eye fillet from the old menu) and the lobster was a bit over cooked. Service was excellent, she always looks after us well. By the way, we missed the beef cheek from the old menu, it was so yummy.
Food was mixed. One dish was great and the other was ok at best. The Lamb was tender and really enjoyed that, chorizo was really yummy as was the condiments. Actually was amongst some of the best lamb have eaten in recent times and perfectly cooked! The Lobster Pasta dish was somewhat disappointing compared to what I was expecting. Was more like something you would expect at a casual Italian restaurant. Felt like the crab over-powered the lobster and the prawns and had a small bit of shell in the dish (no big deal) As an Accor Plus Platinum member with the discount the value was definitely there. Not sure I would have walked out as happy with the value if paying full price. Without the card would have been a 2 or 3 star for value for money. We ordered bread and then mains and was what felt like a significant wait for the mains. Maybe related to the new menu. The ambience was ok. Again nothing special, however no faults. Service was really good. At time’s too much. Had three different people in space if a few minutes come as if we wanted drinks and said no, if change mind will let you know and probably asked about 6 times in night. We mentioned in booking was wife’s birthday and they bought out a complimentary dessert place, which was really nice!
the staff are nice
Service was very slow, no.... Very very slow. It took 30 mins for natural oysters to be served and another 1hour to r we receive main courses. Saving grace was main courses were xcellent, sadly only apologies were offered, a digestive or liqueur on the house was the least we expected for the lengthy delay.
Friendly service quiet atmosphere lively food
Love the restaurant.Amazing staff. Fabulous views. Wonderful menu
We thoroughly enjoyed our food and wine and the service provided was great. It is a smaller restaurant that is quiet and personalised and we were able to talk to each other and enjoy the surroundings as well as the food. Certainly worth visiting more often.
Drinks were overpriced
Simply Beautiful Dinnery by Prive 249. CEO
This is the second time we have been to Prive 249. The first time was extremely disappointing, but this time it was nigh on perfect and there has been a huge change in the food quality and service. Highly recommend it after Friday night.
Our recent visit to Prive was disappointing. Previously we found the service to be brilliant but his time around it was no way near that. I has ordered my lamb medium but it come well under medium. I asked for it to be slightly seared and it took quite a while for my meal to return. By then others at my table had almost finished their meals. Our friend had ordered some sauce with his meal which never arrived This was mentioned to the waiting staff. Our wine was never topped up. We had to help ourselves. And our dessert: crème brulee was delicious but the crystallisation was not hard. This experience was quite disappointing as previously we have always enjoyed the food and service has been great and for a fine dining restaurant in a 5-star hotel we always have great expectations. I think the experience was even more disappointing for our friends who are platinum Accor members.
