About Prawn & Co
Prosecco & Dim Sum
Prawn & Co is a Prosecco and Dim Sum bar situated in the Old Quarter of Cowes. Ideal for casual dining and group get togethers.
Our motto is simplicity, with an alternating selection of dishes complemented by a variety or Prosecco, wines and hand crafted cocktails your taste buds will be left satisfied.
Our main offering is 'Omakase' - Japanese for "i'll leave it up to you". At £20 a head it gives you a selection of everything on the menu and takes the stress out of ordering.
We cater for vegan & vegetarians as well as offering weekly specials including Isle of Wight wagyu beef dumplings, wild mushroom chilli wontons and free range chicken gyoza's.
You can by all means just pop in and grab a drink or quick bite to eat in our window seats. We can have food out to you in 10 mins if you're in a rush.
My favourite restaurant in Cowes. Both the food and service is amazing.
Dim sum was nice but not worth the money, service was good. When we arrived there were 2 men prepping the dim sum in the back area, so we were told not to sit there. Was not impressed by this as I don't think it is hygienic to prepare food in a seating area. Also the room was cold due to no heating, and there were no prices on the menu (which by the way was someone's handwriting on a long strip of baking parchment on the wall). The drinks menu was very limited, focused on beer and prosecco even during lunchtime. When the dim sum arrived it came with dipping sauces, which were in the wrong sized pots so it was almost impossible to dip the dim sum into them. The pickled cabbage accompaniment was nice but there was only one dish that came with a different accompaniment - so out of 4 dishes 3 of them were with cabbage. Overall ok experience but will not be coming again.
Food is lovely. Service could be improved, specifically by server explaining what each dish actually is... Restaurant needs some heating ! Eating in a freezing cold room is no fun. Staff agreed it was cold but did / could do nothing about it... actually spoiled the experience for us.
This was our third visit and not quite as positive as the first two visits. It was busier- good for yuor business but meant that service was slower. Also had to go out for bottles of wine. And out final course was not quite cooked enough and not hot enough. Maybe more help needed on a Friday night? Also we feel that yuo should be open more often. Knowing Cowes well, if a restuarant is not known for being open during the week, it doesn't seem to do so well and doesn't serve the needs of local people.
What a gem to find on the Island and such good value
Such a simple concept executed really well. We had the sharing dish as we got a little of everything, saved the effort of thinking about what to eat. Definitely be back soon
Was a great evening and Harriet and her team were excellent fun
