About Prashad Indian Vegetarian Restaurant
Prashad is an award winning, family run Indian vegetarian restaurant in the heart of Drighlington. Our aim is to give you a unique culinary experience consisting of the highest quality, lovingly made Gujurati and North Indian vegetarian food, served in an intimate and welcoming environment by knowledgeable, intuitive and friendly staff.
At Prashad (meaning blessed food), our highly experienced and passionate chefs bring you authentic, ‘home style’ vegetarian cuisine from Gujarat, Punjab and South India handed down through the generations.
Our menu has been designed to introduce your palette to new tastes, flavours and textures using age old techniques, from the best ‘roadside snacks’ to richer, more robust dishes.
Prashad favourites include our famous Gujarati street-food Chaat, known for being the best in the UK, and our South Indian Massala Dosa, which we have spent years perfecting and now boast the best recipe outside of Kerala (the secret is in the dough preparation!) Alongside these classics, we have a number of ever-changing specials, made with locally-sourced, seasonal produce.
Kaushy Patel, founder of Prashad, is the author of two well established cookery books showcasing the best of Indian vegetarian cuisine. The chefs at Prashad try to bring alive this culture in every lovingly-made dish – and the prestigious awards we have won recently are a testament to this:
- Two Star AA Rosette for Culinary Excellence
- The Michelin Guide
- The Good Food Guide
- Morrisons Magazine Great Grub Award 2013
- Yorkshire Life Chef of the Year 2013
- Michelin Guide Bib Gourmand 2014
- Yorkshire Evening Post Oliver Awards Best Indian Restaurant 2014.
- TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence (Last 6 years running)
The food was unbelievable. Best Indian meal myself & my partner have had to date. Loved the concept of the Chefs Thali. The waiter was very friendly & knowledgeable about all items on the menu. Fantastic experience all round.
Such a wonderful evening, always is when I dine here. Beautiful food amazing staff definitely recommend.
Excellent meal. Plenty of choices. Thoroughly enjoyed the evening.
Always enjoy our visits. The staff and food are excellent
Really really disappointed. I used to eat when you were smaller in Bradford 7 and my first visit at Dridlington. My partner did not eat his food at all.
Enjoyed the food but was very overpriced! That's why I won't be coming back! Preferred the old Prashad in Bradford!
Delicious food. Can do with bigger car park
For 2 of our group of 3 people the starters (delicious) were too large and thus we we struggling to eat all the main course. It felt a terrible shame to leave such delicious food! Maybe consider giving less on starters, maybe with small salad garnish? But still had a great evening - my kofta main and spiced sorbet were brilliant.
We fully enjoyed the whole experience; from the moment we walked in there were wonderful smells of food and incense, the staff were lovely and took us straight to a table. The building itself is an interesting shape and the ambiance and decor was immersive. The food was delicious, full of flavour and texture and artistically presented. The service was attentive and the staff were funny and engaging. The only small thing for me was I would've liked a little description of what I was eating and maybe how or what order to eat the dishes in. However, we did eat everything and it was all delicious. The menu choice was big enough in size with plenty of variation and interesting, mouth-watering dishes. We will definitely be back!
Wonderful food and wonderful service. Perfect. Wll be back.
The most amazing food. Great atmosphere and attentive staff. Highly recommend.
Lovely food but just a little too pricey for the quantity given. Waiter was attentive and patient but needs to be more efficient. When people have finished their drinks they need to remove glasses from the table not leave them till the customers have gone!! We had a cake and all empty glasses were left on the table even though we requested they be taken away so the table looked good when the cake came. If there had been drink in the glasses that would have been different but all glasses were empty! It was lovely to meet the chef. She was so accommodating and pleasant. It would have been even more pleasurable if the table had been round so family members sat at the end could join in with the main conversation. Table was rather large as there were 12 members and it wasn't easy to talk down the table. Would definitely come again but not in such a large group. You also need to state what comes in the platter so people know if they want to order something else. Loved the Chaat, it was a complimentary dish with the starter.
Prashad has consistently high standards and is always a pleasure to visit. I have recommended it widely.
Fantastic food, excellent service. Unique restaurant
Table was ready on time Excellent service and amazing food
Excellent and really different food, lovely setting, and the service was brilliant - I appreciated our waiter taking the time to explain each dish. We really enjoyed our visit.
Lovely freshly prepared food, each with distinct flavours. I felt treated with my lovely ice-cream and sparkler treat for my birthday. Loved the complimentary chaat and am currently reading the recipe to try at home! For lunchtime, thali dish is enough for 3 people - 2 thali was just too much, especially as we had masala dosa too! Thank you for your attention to detail.
Expectations fully satisfied, excellent food and service
Excellent in every way as usual! The only issue I have is that I can't visit more often.
Perhaps the reviews and awards set my hopes impossibly high. The food is very good but not life changing! Would probably go back if I lived nearer, but wouldn't travel 40 miles again. Love Bundobust - was hoping for something more similar. Felt more typical curry house.
One of the best Indian meals I have ever had.
Superb as usual.
Amazing experience - wonderful food and atmosphere. First class service. Would highly recommend to vegetarians and non vegetarians.
The food was fabulous and plentiful but I was disappointed that I had the vegan thali which is the most expensive dish, and did not receive a dessert despite there being 2 vegan desserts on your menu. It wasn't until I got home and rechecked the menu that I was sure I wasn't wrong. Perhaps if the waiter had said something rather than just offering the dessert menu I would have known more. We spent a lot of money and I also bought a book.
Excellent food & service. Imaginatively presented food, a world away from your average curry house. A dining experience worthy of the many awards Prashad has received , including Michelin recognition. Shows how great vegetarian food can be. Excellent service added to the overall experience. Thank you.
