Welcome to Potager
Our neighbourhood restaurant has found its home in the old Munster and Leinster bank in Skerries village.
We serve modern Irish seasonal food. Our menus are built around our producers and their outstanding ingredients.
Run by Cathal Leonard and Sarah Ryan, the restaurant has a warm, relaxed style, offering great food in a unique setting.
Have been a few times already and love the restaurant. I find the lighting a little too bright. Thanks
loved every moment of it, food, atmosphere, staff, venue. dying to go back.
3 of us had there last Sunday31st August. Food was outstanding and service top class. Have rebooked already. thank you very much
The restaurant was well designed and a great addition to the Skerries culinary scene. The wine list is extensive with good choice of old World and new World wines. The food is excellent and the main course portions generous. The only slightet down was the service but as the owner explained they were short staffed on the night. All in a ll highly recommended.
Delicious. Lovely evening.
Thanks to Cathal and his staff they made our 20th wedding anniversary a night to remember with superb food and wine. They made us so welcome right from the start and delivered us food that was beyond our expectations. We are already looking forward to a return visit very soon.
I think the food was excellent and very good value for money. I think the wine prices are too high, no wine under 30€ and the nice Albariño €41 it’s too expensive. I have already recommend a number of people to visit and I can only wish you the best of luck, a great addition to North Dublin!
We had a great experience, the service was excellent with very nice, pleasant people. The wines recommended to us were perfect (much better than what we would have chosen). The food was fantastic, comforting flavours with supreme delicacy. You say "Snacks" we say incredible morsels of umami. Thank you very much we'll be back.
Stunning food at Potager, Skerries, this lunchtime. Proprietor Cathal Leonard (ex head chef at Chapter One) is one seriously good chef producing surprising, revelatory combinations of local produce: tinglingly-fresh mackerel cubes with sweetly acidic green tomatillos; velvety smooth duck breasts with crisped kale, hasselback potato and sweet, soft onions; a meaty fresh hake with horseradish sauce with a stuffed cabbage leaf with fresh peas & celeriac cream; geranium-infused ice cream with poached plums and a baked ricotta log and celery ice-cream with a crunchy, warm walnut square. Let alone the fermented brown bread and white soda with feta whip and basil sauce, there were also 'snacks' of crisped tiny tomatoes and a feather-light parmesan wafer containing a pungent shitake mushroom sliver plus a vial of more-ish beer & cheese soup with foamy herbal froth. We had a crisp Gruner Veltliner to accompany and a deliciously chilled Banyuls with the dessert. Book it now before the secret is out. Tip: go for a long, appetite-whetting walk on Skerries beach before heading in!
Excellent food, charming and relaxed athmospehere. Nice but improvable service.
From the moment we walked in it was very calming, friendly and casual. The host is brilliant at her job and it is brilliant having the front bar and cosy waiting area to have a drink while you're waiting for your table. The food is to die for and it's lovely to see seasonal products throughout the menu, changed regularly too which is lovely to know you're eating local, fresh food. We were utterly stuffed after the full extended 6 course with a beautiful bottle of red wine. The lamb was the best I've ever tasted with a lovely buttery rendered fat taste throughout the meat. We will be back and thank you for a lovely evening. Patrice and John
Love this place. Unreal food. Family amazed at what was presented to them.
First class food, excellent wine selection and very welcoming and efficient service. Strongly recommended.
Great from start to finish
I love the explanation about all the food. I would have been great to take all that information away to share with friends. Place was lovely & airy, pictures on the walls were good. Bread, soup, salmon, lamb and donut were superb. Any chance of a (red) Rioja wine by the glass? New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc was good.
Fantastic Sunday lunch, will definitely be back.
Had excellent lunch yesterday. The food was second to none on a par with ANY restaurant in Dublin. The service was also excellent. We will definitely be back. Maybe next time for dinner.
Food was outstanding Really enjoyed our chat with Sarah Both of us felt that the only item on the menu that wasn’t successful was the doughnut element in the peach dessert - a tad cloying and a greasy aftertaste We will be back !
Amazing food. Great service and relaxed. A new benchmark
Loveliest meal I had this long time!
We were accidentally late for our reservation, after we mixed up the time. The team bent over backwards to squeeze us in regardless and made us feel extremely welcome. The food was outstanding and the service was warm and friendly. A firm favourite, we hope to be back very soon.
A lovely evening and very good food - best of luck to the team behind Potager
The food was beautiful, vegetarian menu was absolutely delicious, we'll definitely be back.
