About PLAU Gin & Beer House
Gin & Beer House a building that dates back to 1668 and a forgotten Medieval Well with 18th Century distillery and secret vaulted cellar rooms. Join us in this historic pub, closed for over 100 years. We serve Brunch, Lunch & Dinner, including a wide range of Vegetarian & Vegan options.
We went in the last night before the second lockdown and even though they were incredibly short staffed and had to change the menu, the service and quality of the food and drink were both excellent. The table next to us were complaining about the menu having to change and the guy serving them remained so professional and helpful throughout.
Very nice meal and ambience for my wife's birthday
Slow service especially for my birthday and didn’t once inform us how to order. Didn’t have everything on the menu and when we ordered something that was supposed to be on the menu two things was unavailable
Great meal, only been twice but been delicious every time and lovely range of craft ales as well, shame the menu has had to change so much but they have coped well
So nice to have something different and exciting
As always the Plau was lovely, our waitress was lovely and very attentive. We hope the plau comes out the other side of the pandemic intact. It is the gem of Preston and we hope it is around for many years to come
Excellent food and drinks as always. Service from Linus was brilliant as previously. We'll be back after Lockdown!
Great as always
Fantastic food and service, we have been coming regularly from the beginning and we wish all the staff and chefs best regards for the future. See you in 4 weeks hopefully x
Great food, quick service
Me and partner visited at the weekend, we haven’t had a date night in a long time. We walked home and spoke how lovely It all was, not just the food but the music, the interiors, the service. The environment/atmosphere is really important and you have it nailed! We even managed to get the Spotify playlist name so we will be playing at home in lockdown now! Cheers. X
Love this place, great food and friendly staff
We missed the tapas you used to do. The kinkhali dish was overpowered by soy which was a shame but the prawn starter was delicious. Lovely atmosphere and music.
Plau has moved up a notch on their food. Get in when they can open up again. We certainly will.
We ready it enjoyed our brunch at Plau. Only one problem in that the menus want explained to us and we thought we had to pick from the breakfast/lunch side of the menu. I ordered the trout sandwich (my wife and daughter also ordered a sandwich) but I was given and charged for the trout main. This was really good and worth the £16 but it wasn't what I ordered and we may have chosen other items had we known we could pick off both sides of the menu.
Great service and food!
We had a lovely time. A beautiful pub and great food. The service was spot on. X
Gabi was amazing - some would say inspirational m. Woman of the year.

Another wonderful evening Fabulous food atmosphere and service
Had a really great meal and evening. Will definitely be back
As usual, a wonderful meal. We love trying different things and are rarely disappointed. It is really difficult during these trying times but well done to all for making a lovely evening for us.
Our food was amazing, service was brilliant, really friendly staff (as always they where fantastic) & the venue is stunning.
Excellent food, the new menu is fab! We will definitely be coming again.
