Really enjoyed our visit. Was particularly impressed with how the chef accommodated my husband's dairy allergy. He hasn't enjoyed a meal that much in so long and it was much appreciated!
the nature wine was a hit! really enjoyed that!
The food was brilliant... again. We love it here!
I booked a table to celebrate an anniversary so I was hoping for something special...When I booked, I asked for the October Best menu which was 3 courses and a glass of wine. Only when we arrived we were told that the glass of wine was for lunch time diners. Disappointed, we decided we would like to buy a bottle and we stated that we did not want to spend any more than £30 on it. The waiter understood this and gave us two wine tasters before we decided on a bottle. The food was basic and unexciting. For mains my parner had the steak which was just meat with mustard and potatoes. I had the only vegetarian main dish of “wet polenta” which was very bland and, as you can imagine from the description, not all that inviting. When the bill arrived, the wine turned out to be £36 for the bottle!! And to top it off, we weren’t acknowledge by the staff when we were leaving the restaurant. What I had hoped would be a lovely evening turned out to be truely awful and I will be telling my friends not to waste their money here.
Great food, welcoming atmosphere and friendly service. Ran out of wine - we had one bottle and then had to order a different one.
Great evening - thanks ; wines a little pricey
Nice restaurant with friendly service and buzzing atmosphere. We had the set menu which was OK but let down by the cheese (tiny bit of English cheese in a French restaurant) and the coffee which 2 of us couldn't drink. (salty taste.. Machine problem?)
Keep doing what you’re doing!
The young, wavy haired, bespectacled chap (Louis?) who served us was a joy - patient, knowledgeable, attentive and clearly enjoys his job! We didn't eat, but the drinks were interesting, different and enjoyable. Attractive bar with an impressive selection of wines and spirits. Worth paying extra for :)
Excellent service and food. Asked for help with wine pairing and our server was fantastic!
Went to October Best - fantastic food - the bavette steak was to die for! Will be back.
A delightful find, excellent food, great service, they found us a space even though Southern trains let us own!
Fun evening with yummy food & wine
We had the most amazing wedding reception at Plateau. We could not fault the staff amazing food. Thank you to all the staff.
Delicious food and the wine was incredible. Our server was really knowledgeable on the food. The only issue is it took quite a while, but it was worth the wait.
Great food, wine and cocktails !
Incredibly helpful and friendly staff. Original and delicious food. Thank you!
Limited but wonderful eclectic food and a wine list unsurpassed in its originality and variety - all organic and/or bio. We’ll be back (again)
Great atmosphere small dishes for price all very tasty!
We had such a lovely meal here - Louie was amazing at the bar, so was our waitress. Cocktails & wine were fab, fish platter was gorgeous! Thanks guys, we’ll be back!
The restaurant was freezing cold despite asking for the window to be shut. Both our drinks and main course order were wrong when they arrived at the table. One of the courses was essentially corn on the cob with a gravy on so not great value and very hard to eat.
Phenomenal. Many Brighton restaurants are overrated, Plateau is an extraordinary standout and unique experience. Talented chef, informal atmosphere, attentive service.
Great evening , many thanks Joe
We came for a date night, to have some time to talk and just enjoy our company but I found it a bit hectic and the music and general environment was too loud at times. The food and drinks were absolutely delicious, I can't fault that at all. Service was also great, the pairing of wine with our food was excellent. I did enjoy our time at Plateau but I think maybe it's just not the place for us.
great food and service as always
