About Pike & Pine
Pike & Pine is located at the bottom of Brighton's iconic St James's Street, the gateway to Kemptown.
Providing a sharp contrast to the ever bustling city, Pike & Pine transports you to that place of calm we all crave from time to time.
The botanical surroundings, complemented by brass and marble, create an environment perfectly suited to allow diners to fully immerse themselves in the experience of our multi course, seasonal menus, inspired wine selection and creative cocktails.
Sit on our stunning marble counter overlooking Matt and the team in the kitchen, or take in the botanical surrounding and enjoy your meal from our dining room.
For larger parties you can sit at our elevated feature table, with views over our beautifully designed dining area.
WE SAT AT DIRTY /GREASY TABLES ON DIRTY/, STAINED/MARKED CHAIRS- ICE AND LEMON FOR SPARKLING WATER DELIVERED IN GLASSES WITH ONLY MY FINGERS TO USE TO GET THEM INTO MY GUESTS' DRINKS- BREAD WE REQUESTED TO EAT WITH STARTERS ARRIVED AFTER OUR STARTER PLATES WERE CLEARED AWAY-REQUESTED BILL TOOK TO LONG TO BE DELIVERED TO THE TABLE. +’s The staff were all friendly & knowledgable. Food was delicious, as was the wine flight. -‘s The first course was quite slow to come out. There was no soap in the toilet. There was not really any atmosphere or ambience in the restaurant.
Really enjoyed our first visit and will definitely be back.
Excellent cuisine and very friendly staff. Thankyou.
Quick service and good food. Bread appetiser served on very small slates which were not fit for purpose.
We love this place. We have been to a few of their special events and every time its a fab experience!.
An excellent evening with outstanding food and wines.
when we arrived, the table was not clean and the seat full of crumbs. We ordered cocktails and looked at the menu and decided to have the set tasting menu & the wine float. We had to chase for the wine float and service felt rushed and no care taken. Food very average and mostly tasteless.Glasses not cleared from table. Very bright and unpleasant enviroment, very hot! Overall much nicer and better value restaurants to eat at in Brighton. The Set, Etch, Issac AT, The GingerMan
Very good food, we went for the Chefs choice set menu which I would really recommend. I had the wine flight which matched some unusual wines with the courses. Very good wine, but a little expensive for approx half a bottle of wine in total. Very good service.
We came to Pike & Pine for the first time over the weekend and was thoroughly impressed. After being told about the restaurant from a colleague at work we had high expectations and I am pleased to say all of those where met. The staff where friendly and very attentive. We opted for the Chefs selection and the food was simply divine, lots of different flavours, the Squid was our favourite along with the strawberry cheesecake! We will definitely recommend Pike & Pine to family and friends and anyone in Brighton should seriously pay these guys a visit. We will be back for sure!
Food was awful and the service was slow. The food was either way too salty or the flavours didn't match at all.
Great food, service a little slow. Would be nice if chefs spoke to customers st the pass. Overall great tasting menu
Excellent food at a decent price. A civilised island in Brighton.
We found the portions very well presented and mostly tasty, however the portions were small and very pricey. I would have expected much more for the money. I think without Matt Gillans name it would be another overpriced pretentious restaurant fighting for business. I wouldn't return and wouldn't recommend it.
The food was delicious, every plate so well balanced. The dessert was to die for especially the strawberry cheesecake. Excellent service. We had a wonderful evening.
Was really looking forward to eating here, some of the food was great and some was incredibly bland. Unfortunately the music was just so loud I could barely hear my partner and the seating wasn’t comfortable enough for dinner
I did feel a bit rushed throughout the evening and the waiting staff were inconsistent in their attention and knowledge. The sides we ordered were incorrect and although rectified it's not the experience I hoped we would have for my girlfriend's birthday. The terrace area we were shown at the back of the restaurant was dirty with stick and uneven tables, more like a pub beer garden. Over promised and under delivered I'm afraid.
We loved watching the chefs work. The guy with the blond top knot was inspirational!
Really enjoyed the food here. Great service and interesting interior design made this restaurant feel a cut above the rest in Brighton at this price range. Would definitely go back.
Wine much better than food. Service good but the toilets were dirty. I think the dishes were tasty enough but didnt sing or surprise. The wifes lamb shank was bland. The table next door asked for salt for the same dish. Salt and pepper shouldnt be asked for. Long way to go.
Everyone who served, the hostess and all the waiting staff were attentive, very professional and very efficient. The food was first class, particularly the seafood and fish, it’s the first time I have tasted them so fresh in the UK.
We went for the Lucky Khao Pop up night and it was absolutely fabulous, some of the best Thai food I have eaten. Food and Cocktails incredible.
Quite loud but added to the experience. Great food at a reasonable price - Nice one guys!
We attended the pop up Thai restaurant and had a fantastic experience. The food was tasty and the relaxed style- dishes arrive as they’re made represents Thailand culture perfectly.
Firstly the food was very good & excellent value for money. The service was friendly but very poor, and not very attentive, this is our 4th visit and the service has always been terrible. We kept having to keep asking for our water topped up, our 'unlimited' rice was not topped up, and we waited ages to ask for the bill and then pay. This was not restricted to us, lots of other people/tables were looking around for staff to serve them drinks or to receive things they had ordered. Also the music playing was really, really awful, it was way too loud for a restaurant and it felt like we were in a bad club on holiday somewhere. There is no need for this in such a lovely looking restaurant.
