About Pier Eight at The Lowry
Pier Eight is The Lowry’s stylish restaurant and bar, overlooking the stunning waterside setting of Salford Quays and MediaCityUK.
Serving fresh, British flavours and seasonal ingredients, it is the perfect setting for a relaxed lunch, pre-show meal or a special occasion. If you’re looking for a more casual dining experience, we also offer a full bar menu in the Pier Eight Bar.
"My ethos on cooking has always been about sourcing the best local and seasonal ingredients from the great suppliers on our doorstep across Lancashire and Cheshire. The menu focuses on simple dishes and flavour pairings, using ingredients and produce that shine in their own right."

This is the first time I have dined here, both myself and partner thoroughly enjoyed our experience, the food was superb, the service was excellent and the atmosphere was very enjoyable. We appreciated the interval option of returning to the table for pre-ordered drinks. Overall I will definitely be making a return visit
From booking to sitting and eating all done with efficiency. The food was excellent, the service attentive and the ambiance perfect for a pre-theatre meal. I would recommend and return!
ordered coffee and tea for the interval which unfortunately was only luke warm
The horseradish risotto was one of the best things i have ever eaten. Wow.
An excellent afternoon tea - one of the best (but much cheaper than the others we enjoyed.) Service was friendly and attentive, the setting magnificent and the food superb. The cocktail was also very enjoyable. Highly recommended.
We have been to Pier Eight several times before and we think the food has become better. So definitely will go back again!
As visitors to the restaurant for a pre-show meal we were most impressed with the quality of the food and the efficient and friendly service.
A very good experience
Something for everyone on the menu and the quality and standard was outstanding! We were able to keep our table for the interval which was fantastic- no queuing! Will definitely be back!
Absolutely beautiful afternoon tea. Beautiful restaurant, clean light not to noisey. Staff articulate and attentive. Food was well presented and very tasty! Couldn't finish it all, so took the rest home! Have already recommend here to friends.
Atmosphere where we were sat by the reception was a bit busy.
The service is outstanding the only thing that let the food down was the temperature. The meat was warming and not hot. Quality of the food was very good. Presentation of the food was top quality
I have only given three stars as my expectations were high, and not quite met. Pet hate of mine is being addressed as “guys” and encouraged to “enjoy” Doesn’t fit in a better class restaurant.
Delicious meal, just a shame we didn't have time for dessert.
We weren't thrilled with the twice-cooked potato main: a lot of money for what amounted to essentially greasy potato wedges in a sea of sauce. The sauces were nice, but the potatoes weren't particularly. We liked the breads. We felt the ratio of ice-cream to neapolitan éclair was too high, and weren't thrilled by it. Service good and nice atmosphere.
A bit of a mix-up on the reservation, but staff sorted well.
Excellent attentive service. Specific eating requirements were fully addressed ( by the chef in person at the table ! ) Actual meal good. Thanks
The whole experience was much better than we expected and we will definitely return at some time in the future.
Very good food and service, and very efficient with the need to get to the opera!
We booked a pre-theatre dinner and were delighted with the food and service. It made for a very enjoyable evening.
We enjoyed everything except for the de-caf coffee which was completely and utterly tasteless. Something must have gone badly wrong! The other cup of coffee - standard Americano was fine. The menu is not long but there were several things we fancied. The portions are not large which is a good thing for people about to enjoy an opera. The service was friendly and efficient.
Great meal as always , staff attentive and friendly , always a good experience
Exxcellent food and service. Tables a little too close together for comfort.
Very efficient and friendly service
