About Pier Eight at The Lowry
Pier Eight is The Lowry’s stylish restaurant and bar, overlooking the stunning waterside setting of Salford Quays and MediaCityUK.
Serving fresh, British flavours and seasonal ingredients, it is the perfect setting for a relaxed lunch, pre-show meal or a special occasion. If you’re looking for a more casual dining experience, we also offer a full bar menu in the Pier Eight Bar.
"My ethos on cooking has always been about sourcing the best local and seasonal ingredients from the great suppliers on our doorstep across Lancashire and Cheshire. The menu focuses on simple dishes and flavour pairings, using ingredients and produce that shine in their own right."

Great views over the water, friendly service and delicious food that looked great too. Excellent start to an evening at the theatre.
Excellent all round. Me and my companion thoroughly enjoyed the whole dining experience. Would (and already have) recommended it to family
We arrived at 5pm and were seated at a table by the window with a wonderful view. The two hours we spent having the three courses absolutely flew by and both myself and my Mum loved each dish we had. We would definitely return and would recommend to anyone attending especially if watching a show at the Lowry. The staff were wonderful!
Great meal with excellent service
We did have a nice meal and the atmosphere was very good. The service was also very good. However I found that it was very expensive for the actual food we received even with the pre theatre meal. Most options were extra and so were side dishes.i also had a cocktail that was so sweet I could hardly drink it. It was a nice experience but I would probably not eat in the restaurant again.
Nicely presented and very tasty. We were happy with service and not rushed at all. Atmosphere was good as a concert was on so restaurant was very busy.
Excellent meal and service Highly recommended
just a couple of details jarred. we didn't like the crisp bread - very hard with sharp edges we thought. the other bread was delicious though. husband shocked at price of cheese board and he didn't like two of the three chutneys. the wine, a chilean merlot, was delicious. all in all an enjoyable meal in an excellent setting.would do it again.
I believe the menu was very similar to when we last visited earlier this year so perhaps a change would be of benefit. Also mint sauce with lamb would be nice.
Our waitress Bianca was excellent.... thank you
Our waitress Jayne was very helpful and we had a very enjoyable evening
The service was excellent staff are very pleasant nd attentive without being intrusive it was a lovely start to our evening out to watch a concert.
Really enjoyed the quick and attentive service . Food was excellent. We'll be back Tony Erskine
Little disappointed....nouvelle cuisine portions....still hungry after two course meal...£46 for meal, inc bottle of wine...OK - but not exceptional as I was hoping. Tipped in cash as suspicious about tipping policy which appears to subsidise the staffs' meals, rather than going directly to them.
Excellent, well presented food! Service was great and friendly. Great ambience. Highly recommended & we would definitely go again! 😊
Really great to be able to have such fabulous food so close to the show. The staff were all very knowledgeable and so friendly. I had eaten here before and I wouldn’t hesitate to book again or recommend to friends. The meal really added to the whole experience of our visit to the Lowry.
Delightful food, exceptional service, relaxing ambience. Suitable for couples. The staff are extremely professional.
We have dined on previous occasions at Pier Eight and really enjoyed it, hence why we stop over in Manchester once a year for a night out. We felt very rushed this time. We arrived at 6.45 and had finished our meal by 8.00. The salmon starter was not the same as the description, and the main courses were not that brilliant, it's a shame as we are thinking of finding somewhere else to dine for next year.
Good value meal well presented and cooked. Great atmospere and service. Bit boring on vegetarian options. .
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will happily book again the next time we come to the Lowry.
This is a much changed space since last time I dined in it and it has improved the decor and the ambience. However in the fundamentals there has been no change the food, the service and the value for money remain beyond superlatives.
Very good meal. We enjoyed all the courses and having our desserts during the interval
