About Pieminister Stokes Croft
Pieminister Stokes Croft is the 'Mothership' and where Pieminister began back in 2003. They offer 16 award winning classic pies that use 100% free range British meat and all of their pies have won Great Taste Awards. The restaurant also offers a wide range of vegetarian pies, all approved by the Vegetarian Society and two gluten free pies as well. On top of all these culinary delights, the menu boasts a feast of sides, hot pots, fresh salads, cocktails, craft ales and even ice cream pies.
Friendly staff and great food
Great food - great service and good selection of pies. The Vegan pie is a bit confusing as you call it chicken - might not appeal to some Vegans. Other than that fab! x
Our server was amazing. Even after I'd spilled my beans over the table!!! Tried to tell us we'd left too much for a tip!!! We were eating really early so very quiet. Loved the food. Will definitely be back.
Everything was great
Loving the vegan food
Very nice food good service
I think the atmosphere would have been better had we not been the only table at the time! Service was very speedy and friendly, food was great.
Service was the best I’ve ever had for a Christmas party. They were so attentive and organised, knowing who had ordered what and planned the courses very well. 90% of our party had not eaten with Pieminister before and all said they’d be back and how good the food was! The staff especially the two main ladies were amazing
The original and definitely the best. It gets no better Pie Mash and Mushy Peas, Oh and the staff are really good too. PROPER JOB.
We came for our Christmas party and were extremely happy with the Christmas menu, it was just excellent. The waiting and cocktail staff were very patient as our cocktails mounted up. We will absolutely be booking next year and the pre-order system worked made for a very efficient service.
I visited on Saturday 8th Dec and Friday 14th Dec. The food could have been hotter on both occasions but it was nice - perhaps the plates could be warmed? Better quality peas would be good!
Fab food and lovely staff
My £50.00 deposit was lost and not taken off the bill...had to get my bank details up on my phone to prove that it has been taken out of my account.
I felt that the quality of service was ok, however we had asked for some items to be served as a starter while we were still deciding on our mains. The dish came out with the mains at which point we were desperate to be fed and were a bit disappointed as we wanted to enjoy relaxing and indulging without feeling rushed in the restaurant in my husbands birthday. The food itself was very tasty but we both had the same complaint that it was cold. We asked for it to be warmed, but on its return was still not thoroughly hot. The environment was a bit on the cramped side. The gap between our table and our neighbours was so small I had to awkwardly squeeze past which disturbed their meal. I had tried to move our table but it was too heavy to shift. Overall a unsatifactory experience.
Love Pie Minister have recommended it to others in different parts of the uk who go there every time they visit, highly recommend :)
Both pies and sides were excellent. Glass of house red wine was also good quality and very good value for money Cask beer wasn't good (pint of Pie P A), sharp and not very pleasant. Probably should have sent it back, didn't as the 2nd choice was already off menu. I'll stick to bottled beers in future.
Could have been a bit more choice of drinks. We weren't offered a pudding. A drink got spilt when main course was being taken away it didn't get wiped up and weren't asked if we wanted another.
Thoroughly recommended this food, enough of a varied choice, delicious
Great experience, think your portions could be slightly bigger though!
There were a few of us that ordered gravy and sauces that were not needed as on the menu it's not clear that gravy is included as standard. Apart from that - Lovely!
Hi, as a huge Pieminister fan I take no pleasure in writing this review and will probably write the same on TripAdvisor too: my experience was terrible! This was my first visit to the Stokes Croft restaurant and I thought it would be a great reward following completion of the Bristol Half marathon. I brought my family with me as a reward for supporting me and talked you guys up a lot. Here's what went wrong. I'm a vegetarian and ordered the mushroom pie and for some reason it arrived with pork crackling and sausages! The member of staff confirmed that this had been a mistake. He took the pie back to the kitchen to sort out the problem. My pie was returned lukewarm minus the sausages and crackling: same pie just pretty cold :( The member of staff took £4 off the bill and after running for 13 miles I was too tired to request my meal be free which is the least you should've given me. The service generally was slow, which I could normal forgive because it was a busy time but on top of everything else it was a really bad experience for my family. Half of the plates were cleared away and half left on the table for a long period of time. It was disorganised and a poor first impression for my family who had never been before. So in summary it was really poor to give a vegetarian a vegetarian meal with random meat extras! I would hope you would consider offering me an incentive to come back to Pieminister, ideally the Bath branch where I live, and experience the usual high standards that you normally provide. Kind regards Brett [email protected] 07966558289
Food was excellent, service was sloppy. Could easily be much better by doing not much.
Staff were very nice but someone lost our order, however once they realised the mistake they gave us 2 free drinks and quickly got our food to us, which was very tasty.
