About Pieminister Escape Rooms
SOLVE MIND-BENDING RIDDLES & CRYPTIC PUZZLES AGAINST THE CLOCK. WILL YOU ESCAPE BEFORE YOUR TIME IS UP?
Fun experience with well thought out rooms, during the talk before you go in, the lady was very nice and friendly however she explained in detail too much that everything was fake so it killed the mood a little bit and made it seem unrealistic. Escaped the room with 11 minutes to spare
Parts of the Escape Room were incorrect which hindered our ability to complete some of the puzzles e.g misspelling of vital clue on the wall, unclear handwriting for written clue. Whole escape room was based on finding keys or numerical codes which was repetitive and unimaginative. Escape room therefore felt very amateur and we did not feel satisfied that it was worth what we paid for it when we could have had a much more professional experience with another escape room company such as Escapologic (who we have visited before and are the same price as Pie Minister). Pies were very nice but accompaniments were lukewarm and this brought down the overall quality of the meal. Disappointed and feel like we had a mediocre experience after paying a significant amount of money.
We had such a great time at the escape room - was so much fun and the staff were brilliant, would definitely recommend it!! .. and the pies afterwards are spot on, thank you for a great afternoon
We had so much fun! We did the deal for the escape a room and then the meal for my boyfriends birthday and we had a blast. The guy that talked us through the room was great and made sure we enjoyed ourselves. We escaped with just 5 minutes to go but it was amazing and we would definitely recommend it
We just about finished the rooms on time with only 3 minutes spare as the wrong prop was left in the room. As a result the manager of the room had to open the door and hand us the right prop. We also started 25 minutes late which made us late to our next reservation, as neither the room or program was loaded to make a start for our booking. The manager running the room was also late to work. How it was dealt with was confusing for us and made the room less enjoyable overall. We did not eat but could not progress without ranking.
The escape rooms was fantastic, but there was quite a wait on arrival and we were awkwardly stood near the entrance for a long time before being taken upstairs. Afterwards, the food was also fantastic, but once again, we were waiting a very long time to pay the bill after it had been given to us. I eventually got up to ask someone to bring us the card machine, which shouldn't have been necessary. The restaurant wasn't very busy, so it shouldn't have been that slow, but felt very understaffed.
Great staff, escape room was good and food was good!
Unfortunately we did not greatly enjoy the escape room (germagedon). The clues were not logically deduced, instead just hidden and not alluded to. There was not enough problem solving, just searching through a lot of red herrings. Because of the amount of useless props and information that were placed as red herrings it felt like the games difficulty was set mostly due to the amount of time it took just to understand what was required rather then actually knowing what to do and solving the puzzles. As such, this made for a frustrating experience with fewer puzzles then we would have liked. Also, when clues are given I feel like it would be beneficial to give an audible tone to notify the team inside. The meal after was good as always although on the day the restaurant was experiencing electrical difficulties and had to close early making us the only ones left and the atmosphere certainly lacking (an unfortunate event but unavoidable on your front) Overall, we enjoyed the meal and the joint experience however I would have to say that the escape room was disappointing especially in light of the competition it faces elsewhere in Nottingham.
As a team, we participated in the room Germaggedon. It was fantastic fun and would definitely recommend doing this escape room. Bear in mind that it gets really warm in there though and when there are few of you sometimes you are standing about waiting for an action to be be done by someone else. The food after was amazing, the pies are sublime, could not recommend more. Thanks!
Service was amazing staff were very helpful and friendly . Food was delicious would definitely eat there again.
Thoroughly enjoyed the evening. Would not have solved without the clues Well thought out
Unfortunately, the service was particularly poor on our escape room and pie night; due to a number of staff calling in sick (as reported by a waitress). We waited over 10mins for someone to take our drink order followed by another 10mins + awaiting our drinks. Thankfully we had preordered food but that was still another 10mins + after the drinks arrived. The waiters and waitresses did an admiral job under the circumstances and the food and escape rooms was fab, but somewhat marred by the service. Please invest in more staff and give the current staff a pay rise!!
Great idea to have escape room with the option to eat before/after. Thoroughly enjoyed it, will be back to do the other room.
Booked in for the escape rooms and a meal and it was all great! We have done a lot escapes rooms all over the UK and thought this was very well thought out 😊
Great day, escape room was fun and not too hard and food was delicious.
We booked the Pie, a side and escape room deal (offered at the Nottingham Restaurant). As a party of four, we arrived about 15 minutes ahead of our booked time, as requested, and were welcomed in with a genuine, friendly greeting from a team member. We were shown to and took a seat in a vacant booth while we waited for our escape room briefing. Taking in the decor and ambience of the dining area, we all commented on how nicely the place was 'decked out'; a contemporary mix of dark wood (especially the feature ceiling/wall toward the front of the restaurant), tarnished steel, the right amount of neon signage and a huge hand painted wall piece with the word 'pies' featured in a faux-aged finish. Our host was was funny, charming, knowledgeable and pitched her escape room briefing perfectly to us, her audience. Our themed room was well thought out and well dressed, there were even accessories to dress up in if you really want to get into the role! The monitoring and remote support for players who get stuck on a clue is just right; not intrusive and just enough of a hint. Two of our party are vegan and two, non-vegan. All of the pies and sides that we ordered were very well received. Pieminister offer what is, on the face of it, good, honest food (what's better than pie, mash and peas?) but it's executed to such a high culinary standard with some very well considered ingredient combinations that the food goes way beyond any notion of just being 'standard pub fair'. In summary, our entire visit met and exceeded our expectations and added to our already high collective opinion of Pieminister Nottingham.
Enjoyed the experience and would recommend it to others.
Had a fab night in the escape room really enjoyed it . Staff polite and helpful .
We didn't eat so I haven't reviewed the food! We did the germageddon escape room, and loved it. First time we've ever done an escape room, so we don't have anything to compare to, but we had a brilliant time. It was challenging and fun, "Sky control" was really good both at setting the scene and whilst we were in the rooms and for debrief. Thank you!
The guy who showed us around was amazing! Lovely guy.
Enjoyed escape room and pie. We did the demon barber experience, don’t be put off by the scary star rating as it wasn’t scary at all. Wasn’t too difficult good for a first time escape room experience.
We just did the escape room which was great value for money. However the drinks were expensive £7 for two cokes is extortionate.
Food is amazing, would highly recommend. However service let it down, all waiters/waitresses seemed like they didn’t want to be there and whatever you asked was too much trouble, even when asking for the bill to pay them! The atmosphere in the restaurant was great but you could hear it all in the escape rooms so any sense of fear or suspense was ruined by Ariana Grande playing. I would definitely visit again for food but not for the escape room, it was quite expensive for 3 tiny rooms.
Food is great, the demon barber escape room concept too. However, overall it wasn't very challenging and falls short of the expectation. Given the vast competition in the market in Nottingham for escape rooms, the designers of the room need to up their game as it doesn't fair well against it's competitors.
Only did the Sweeney Todd escape room, didn’t eat here. We escaped as a duo in just over 35 minutes and was easier than others on offer but still required a good amount of brain power. If there were a few more puzzles on offer then this could stretch some teams, although rooms are small, so best tackled in a small group.
