About Pieminister Cardiff - St Mary St
Award-winning pies and soft serve sundaes in laid-back surroundings with great music and a well-stocked bar: pie and ice cream feasting doesn’t get better than this.
We arrived and they had no record of our booking, we then sat down and was told we could only have fries and they had 3 different pies off the menu. The food was quick but was also cold and they have given us the wrong pies. We then waited to be cleared and the bill presented which took longer than our actual food being cooked. This was a very disappointing visit
Would have given five stars for food if peas hadn’t been burnt Service wasn’t very good at all, food took 45mins to arrive Very good value for money as had an offer, wouldn’t have been happy paying full price for service we received
Fantastic service and amazing food.
Booked for our anniversary. Food was really nice, however music was too loud, service was mediocre and the waitress didn't seem that bothered in looking after us. Drinks were expensive (£5 for a 330ml bottle of lager). Would come back in future but not for any special occasions.
Fantastic bottomless brunch, not scrimping at all on the bottomless element and outstanding pies as usual! Excellent service from our waitress too, thank you :)
Excellent pies served quickly
The brunch offer was good value with a nice meal and varied choice of drinks but we waited 5 minutes at the door without being acknowledged, had to spend time getting the attention of staff for drinks top ups and waited a while to have our plates cleared when finished. Would recommend for the food and when deals are on but not for the service.
Hi Marcia, I’m so pleased you enjoyed your brunch, but I’m sorry you felt the service was not quick enough for you. I will of course investigate this with the team to endeavor it doesn’t happen again. I am aware they were busy due to Cardiff Pride taking place, but this shouldn’t have affected your experience. Please me assured this is not our normal pace and I will do all I can to prevent this happening again. Kind regards Kate
Fab service and food! Can't wait to go again
Excellent service, good food, good beer. Definitely come back.
There was a little confusion about the meal we had been invited to try, but even so, we received good service. The new pasties are very nice!
Great service, excellent choice of pies and just a really nice venue.
Great food, polite staff
Amazing service and food. Felt at home when we walked in. Amazing food.
Our experience on Sunday felt all a bit rushed. Admittedly when we arrived the restaurant was quiet, so perhaps the waiting staff were looking for things to do - but I would like to be able to take some time to enjoy my meal. We ordered some small plates, and clearly told the waitress, these were our starters. Our main courses arrived whilst we were still eating the small plates, yet the waiter left the meals with us. Before I'd even taken a mouthful of my main course, we were asked if everything was ok with our meal, then again by another staff member about 3 minutes later. Whilst the food was good, and extremely good value (we had the Sunday best) I did feel that they couldn't wait to get us out of the table. A bit disappointing really as this is my son's favourite place to eat, and we'd gone for his birthday treat. I won't be rushing back
Our firs visit to pie minister and every thing was just perfect! Food service and atmosphere was fabulous. Will definitely be back to try every different flavour pie 🥰😋
Ther breakfast pies were delicious but the drinks were a bit slow.
The pattys weren't as good flavour combinations as the pies and it took quite a long time for dishes to be cleared, orders taken, bill brought, etc.
Excellent just a little cramp for me
I normally love Pieminister and they are my “go to” pies. Booked to come here for a Father’s Day lunch with hubby, 3 yo and 5yo. Upon arrival we discovered there were only two options for the kids, the other two crossed off the menu (poor planning considering it was Father’s Day) luckily the kids would eat what was available but mac and cheese was served with a very spicy Asian type slaw, not what I would consider child friendly and the sausage and mash was just that, not a vegetable to be seen! It felt a little like they had never had children in before and it really spoilt it for me. Also there was nothing about the “fathership” and nothing was said to us about it so just ordered from the normal menu, which was nice but wasn’t the lovely meal I had hoped for my husband.
Nice food in a simple setting.
Excellent service, friendly knowledgable staff and good value for money
Food fab as always
Food was fantastic as always and service was prompt. First tine we have had the desserts and I would highly recommend Only feedback I would give is the restaurant was quite empty and we were all seated really closely and would have been nice if gave more room
Absolutely loved the bottomless brunch! Best pie I’ve ever had here, the meaty breakfast one, loved the halloumi stick on the side. Really delicious and lovely atmosphere, having our drinks topped up :) Emily was serving us again who is always fab and another girl who’s name I didn’t take sorry!!! Lots of love for pieminister :)
