About Pieminister Cardiff - St Mary St
Located in the heart of the city on St. Mary’s Street near the Principality Stadium, we’re the place to visit for award winning pies. We’ve even got ice cream pies for pudding.
Pieminister Cardiff makes a great lunch stop whether you are working, shopping or visiting the iconic Welsh city. And it’s great for a night out too, with a great range of beers, wines and cocktails too.
Amazing food and service
Stag group, we’ll looked after, food great
After Pieminister Cardiff coming highly recommended, some of the group were a little dissapointed for a few reasons....our table was booked for 7.30pm and the restaurant had run out of sides (only mash available). The service could have been better also.
Bottomless brunch is excellent, great food and value for money
Nice staff & good food!
Amazing food and great value for money
Beautiful food and great value for money
Lovely venue with superb food.
Not a great visit to be honest. First impression was a cold, smoky restaurant. The extractor fan was broken and the door was propped open. Every single table near the door complained how cold it was, and several customers shut the door, only to have it reopened by staff explaining the extractor fan wasn't working. They were too busy to move people away from the door, and I was one of the unlucky ones who froze. Next up, when ordering, the pie week specials were great value for money. However, when they've run out of the pie you wanted its a disappointment. How can a pie shop run out of Moodog pies? On receiving the bill, we were given the wrong table. Pointed this out and quickly received the correct bill - but, we were overcharged on the drinks. Third time lucky with the bill, we paid and left feeling cold and disappointed. I shan't be in a hurry to return as it wasn't a great meal out.
The workers insisted on keeping the front door open even though it was a freezing cold, windy and rainy night. Customers kept shutting the door because it was so cold but the workers would just open it again. All of the workers we encountered were miserable as sin apart from one that was lovely (brown/red haired girl with long eyelashes). Food obviously went cold as soon as it was brought out where we were sat by the open door. NOT a nice environment to eat in AT ALL. Asked to move into a window seat to get out of the direct draught which was marginally better but still not good enough. I heard someone say it was because the extractor fan was broken, and so we all had to sit with coats on because of a problem with the restaurant. Would’ve been a more sensible option (and probably do better for your customer service reputation) to close the premises until you could get it sorted or bring in alternate equipment instead of subjecting your paying customers to that. If it wasn’t for the fact we had ordered our drinks and food before they’d opened the door, we would NOT have stayed. And due to the sheer misery of (most of) your staff and the way they disregarded customer wellbeing I would be hard pushed to come back, even though the food was nice. A real shame.
Great pies and great staff
Delicious mothership and indulgent mud pie for a naughty dessert. Only negative is there were no onion rings available!
Great pie, and an eclectic range of sides. Ideal for veggie households like ours!
My wife, who is a vegan, was very happy with the food but my chips were very much on the burned side. The service was very friendly and attentive. However, there were a lot of little fruit flies buzzing around whilst we were eating, which spoiled it for me a little
We had a really lovely time - the staff were super friendly, and the food was delicious (as always!) Thank you so much for great service and great food.
We loved our first visit to pie minister. We will certainly be hoping to repeat the experience. Finally another eatery that caters well for our family's mixed needs of Gluten Free and veggie. Service was great, only problem was choosing what to have from the great choice.
Great food and lovely new menu
Amazing restaurant with fantastic food - can’t beat a pie!
Great service Great food Great atmosphere
One member of staff left us slightly astounded after clearing our plates he just presented the bill on our table! Wasn’t busy so assume they wanted an early night.
The food is amazing when it is served hot and not lukewarm! Lukewarm gravy is not the way to go when you have a great product and even worse when it’s a loaded plate. Such a shame as I went at Christmas and the food and service was fantastic
Really nice food although they were out of one vegan option, servers attentive and friendly.
We made use of a 50% off food voucher, and it was so worth it! Always delighted with the food and drink here, especially the sundaes, and increasingly impressed at the selection of dietary requirement friendly options.
We always enjoy eating at Pieminister and the food was up to its usual high standards. Not all the mains were available on the evening we were there and the waiting time was longer than usual. Again. the fruit cider was disappointing - had no taste
