About Pieminister Bristol Broad Quay
Trying one of our pies is a must when you’re in our hometown of Bristol. This is our third restaurant to open here and as well as our famous Classic pies we’ve got an Open Top pie range plus our hearty hot pots and fresh salads. If you can, arrive early for a pre-pie drink. The cocktail menu offers a range of Classics, Sours, Tankards and Specials (2 for 1 before 6.30pm and after 9.30pm every day).
To finish, we have a range of Ice Cream Pies; Rhubarb and Custard, Toffee Apple, Lemon Meringue and Glastonbury Mud. Lavishly good, you’ll definitely want to leave a little space for one.
We really enjoyed our meal, it was busy on a monday night but the pie with 2 sides was great value and just a nice amount. My daughter loved that the gravy was on the side. We just about had room to share a pudding.
I went with a family group of 4 and we all enjoyed the experience of eating at Pieminster. The staff were very friendly and obliging and are are a real credit to the company. One negative point. There was a large (loud) group at the front of the restaurant and the lack of sound absorbing material in the room made it difficult for us to hear one another. Finally, I did not say anything at the time and enjoyed my pie, but felt the pastry especially on the top was a bit hard, which when I tried to cut into it, I crushed the pie. When I mentioned this later in the evening to my family it seemed everybody had the same problem, i,e the pastry was a bit overcooked.
Lovely Sunday lunch celebrating Mothers day , so much choice , great value for money, we had no complaints. A added bonus with the 241 cocktails which was nice. Will definitely be going back
Great choice of pie and extras for veggies and vegans. Friendly service, food came promptly and tasted good. The cocktails were a bit underwhelming for the price, I wouldn't have them again. One heartfelt request, please sort the front door out. It slams shut with a loud bang every time it closes, and it's a busy door. After an evening of this I was quite stressed out, and it had an impact on the quality of our evening.
Loved our experience, the staff were really attentive and the food was delicious!
Booked for brunch; no brunch pies available. Service very slow; had to wait an hour to get our food, ordered sides that didn’t arrive
We were a large group of 9 people and the staff were incredible, the service fast, and the food delicious.
Went as a party of 3, we arrived early for our booking but there was a table waiting. We each had a different pie and everyone liked what they had, they were served really quickly as well. We had 3 different deserts and they were all really nice. The Pieminister IPA was also excellent. You need to open a restaurant closer to Billericay as we were only visiting Bristol.
Great food, good service. The bottomless brunch special was such good value! Thanks
Great food, great service!
Great food, great atmosphere! Who doesn’t love a good pie?
Our flight was delayed and I phoned to say we would be late but our table had been given away when we arrived. The staff were excellent in getting us the next available table but I was disappointed that they had given our table away even though I had phoned to say we would definitely be there.
I must stress this is a personal observation rather than a criticism. I appreciate black is a fundamental colour used in Pieminister branding. Firstly, you could easily miss the front of the restaurant as it is just too subtle. We found the interior decor, morose, minimalist decor to the extreme including plywood clad metal seating reminiscent of a 1960’s Secondary School and just as uncomfortable I remember. As a Bursar in 1990 I threw away the last of these, due in part, to girls ruining their tights on the damaged plywood veneers. The area was dimly lit and the metal edged tables serve to match the horrible chairs. However, service was fantastic, quick and of course our prime reason for the visit was Lady Baa Baa. We rounded our visit by purchasing 4 of these pies to take home and freeze along with 4 Chicken Fungi ( can’t get these anywhere except a lot further north). Would come back again - you bet - despite the vociferous comments on branding and decor - it is still about the food - your pies are amazing they are consistently excellent value and full of superb ingredients for that we thank you.
The service was very friendly but a little slow based on the number of customers there were
We booked, but we're lucky to get a table as it appeared no tables had been kept for reservations. Order was taken after a while of waiting, 10mins later we were told our order hadn't been input into the system correctly so we needed to order again! Once food arrived, we had to wait a further 5 mins for our order to arrive. Food was excellent, service was terrible - disorganised and unfriendly.
Great service. Quick yummy food.
Love the new vegan options! Great 2 for 1 offer. Generous portions.
Thanks, a delicious lunch!
We came on a relatively quiet Sunday evening and waited over an hour for food, my pie was massively overcooked and the pastry so hard it was impossible to cut with a knife. Wife enjoyed her meal though so may have just been a blip but i had to leave mine without eating a bite of the pie. Staff were nice about it and I wasn't charged but it did taint the evening for our 30th wedding anniversary weekend away.
Staff were friendly and attentive, the food was delicious. A very pleasant evening out dining with friends thanks to the service provided.
Great gluten free pie! Couldn't tell it apart from Muggle ones
Have been several times in the last 2 months, introducing different friends. The food is outstanding - we really cannot rate it highly enough. The drinks selection is slightly limited (no cider at our last visit???) Bit its not the end of the world. Food speaks for itself and great value for money.
The new menu is really good!
