About Pieminister Bristol Broad Quay
Trying one of our pies is a must when you’re in our hometown of Bristol. This is our third restaurant to open here and as well as our famous Classic pies we’ve got an Open Top pie range plus our hearty hot pots and fresh salads. If you can, arrive early for a pre-pie drink. The cocktail menu offers a range of Classics, Sours, Tankards and Specials (2 for 1 before 6.30pm and after 9.30pm every day).
To finish, we have a range of Ice Cream Pies; Rhubarb and Custard, Toffee Apple, Lemon Meringue and Glastonbury Mud. Lavishly good, you’ll definitely want to leave a little space for one.
Great gluten free pie! Couldn't tell it apart from Muggle ones
Have been several times in the last 2 months, introducing different friends. The food is outstanding - we really cannot rate it highly enough. The drinks selection is slightly limited (no cider at our last visit???) Bit its not the end of the world. Food speaks for itself and great value for money.
The new menu is really good!
Poor selection of pies, our first 2 choices were not available which we not happy with.
For some reason was not on booking system although I did or on line and had confirmation luckily they were still able to squeeze us in food was great atmosphere and prices great didn't have to wait too long for food which was great as if was busy. Look forward to returning
Service and food was excellent! It was especially good value for money as I had 50% off. The chooks away pie was one of the best pies I have had and it is great to have so many vegan options! The only negative would be the cleanliness. The glasses never seem to be overly clean and some of the plates look like they could do with being replaced. Other than that it was lovely! Thank you.
The service was amazing and the food came out so quick! Would highly recommend!
The food is delicious and the staff are friendly making it a great place to eat!
Very quiet at lunchtime so cannot fully gauge the atmosphere but the food was good. There were three of us friends eating and we decided to split the bill equally. Despite telling the staff member twice how much we wanted to pay each (which included a tip) he charged us all an additional pound. Not that much of a problem for us and we decided to let it slide - but I would advise to check the amount you are charged if you pay by card!
No matter how good your pies are we are not coming back to your restaurant. The service we received was really bad by people that obviously didn’t enjoy being there. Cold food served, missing ordered items etc Also the level of cleanliness is appalling! We cleaned the table with a wipe and the wipe was BLACK!!! Also you only have 2 high chairs in the restaurant and we had to wait over half an hour for one. We are buying your pies and we like them but the visit to your restaurant was such a disappointment
A great night out
We were staying in Bristol for a night away and we decided to give Pieminister a go after we had been wanted to try it for a while!! We were welcomed by a guy who was serving a table when we walked. He told us he would be with us in a few minutes which we said it was fine as we were happy to wait until he was ready! When he came up to us I mentioned that we had booked a table for two people. He went to check our book and on coming back to us he said that he ‘should’ be able to do it. From that point we started to get a bit concerned. We were also told that there would be an half an hour wait on food despite their being only another 4-5 tables in the restaurant (some of them have already eaten)! He then asked when we booked as we were not on the list which may have been our fault for booking earlier that day! - my fault! Once we sat down a group of ladies walked in asking for a table to which he was saying they weren’t taking any more tables - despite there being empty tables in the restaurant! The table sat next to us started to look frustrated as it seemed that they had waited a while for their order to be taken. The waiter then walked past their table to speak to another table - after this they walked out and so did we shortly after! It seemed that they were short staffed as there was only one chef and one waiter - even on a Saturday night!! We understand that situations like this happen but the demeanour of the staff just wasn’t very welcoming at all! If we were explained the situation we probably would have given them a chance!
We joined you on our work Christmas meal & drinks out on 18/12/18 @ 5pm a group of 8. Everyone enjoyed the food it was excellent, especially the pork cracking starter I had, the olives were nice to. The service from the staff was very tentative, nothing was to much trouble.
Everything was great!
Food was lovely. Liked the Christmas hats with the 'Who Am I' game. Crackers would have been nice. Desserts were still being brought out when others had already finished. Same for mains. A few were left waiting far too long after majority of dishes brought out. Wish someone had contacted me when I sent through menu choices to say that the dessert options had changed. Was very disappointed to not get the Yule Log Sundae - manager did explain when I entered but as she said it whilst I was enquiring about another issue, I didn't realise what she had meant - also, even if I had, it was a bit too late.
Excellent pies and good service
Service was very slow. Looked like our pies were waiting under the heat lamps for ages and when we asked the waitress when our food was coming they were then served. All just too long
We arrived and it became apparent that there was only one waiter serving at a busy time , he was running around trying his best but we had to wait half an hour just to order drinks. When we finally got the food we were all pleased and agreed it was good value, it’s just a shame about the service
We booked Xmas lunch for 25 people. Our table was booked and all food preordered for 1pm. We arrived in good time. My meal (I was the last to be served) arrived at 2.42pm!!! Meals had started to arrive at 2 - so most people had long finished eating before I received mine. Dishes came through one by one. Despite offering to give us one free meal I noticed once I got home that I had been charged for all 25 meals. I was not a happy customer.
Had a fab time for a team Christmas late lunch. Every plate was empty, everyone was full. We had the full attention of the staff. There was a slight issue at the till when we came to pay though which made ended the evening a bit awkward.
Introduced my parents to your restaurant and they loved it! Excellent value for money have already booked next visit! thank you
I booked a table for 8 for a staff Christmas meal and was pretty disappointed with the whole experience. Firstly, I asked the restaurant to confirm that they had received our menu choices and also had an enquiry about non alcoholic beverages for a pregnant team member and received no response. Then, when we arrived we were squeezed into the tightest space, with the table pushed up against the window. This would have been ok, but you have light boxes hanging on the inside of the window, one of which was basically in my colleague’s face. Food arrived, and the mash was watery and of tiny proportions. The ‘minty mushy peas’ were just tiny bowls of frozen peas. No mint in sight and no explanation. I figured that perhaps you’d run out of mushy peas, but after serving us, I noticed that diners on other tables were being given mushy peas. All I can think is that because we were taking advantage of your Christmas menu option, you decided to save yourself some money by digging out the Birdseye. One of my party asked for a decaf coffee, and you said you would have to go to the shop to buy a jar. She said not to bother, but really I would expect you to have decaf... and not instant, anyway! The service was slow, no one came over to ask how everything was and when we paid up and left a generous tip on the table, your staff did not seem even remotely grateful or friendly. I’ve always loved PieMinister, but I would never book a staff meal there again, and especially not for Christmas. Totally underwhelming.
Lovely waiting staff and brilliant food, really enjoyed it!
