About Noosa Beach House Peter Kuruvita
Fine Dining with neutral and natural colours with modern beach house theme.
It's a great restaurant for special occasion or just to enjoy great Sri Lankan food.
We had a wonderful evening. I had the veggie degustation and was impressed with the thoughtfulness of all the dishes. So pretty, beautifully presented and lovely service.
Underwhelming and disappointing, not so much for the food but a series of situations that I had not previously encountered in a fine dining restaurant. My wife and I were catching up with our daughter who lives in Hong Kong for a 7 day holiday on the Sunshine Coast. We arrived 15 to 20 mins early for our booking with the aim of a predinner drink in at the bar. On arrival after a long wait before being greeted at reception we were told our table would be available when we returned, which was fine. Following drinks we returned to an unmanned reception and waited, and waited!! A member of staff was tapping away on a computer but did not acknowledge us Strange. Finally another person arrived and advised our table was still unavailable. ”would you like to wait in the bar.” No, we had already had drinks so we waited at reception whilst another table was being set. Finally we were seated and advised that this table adjacent to the window dividing the main restaurant from the bar below was a better location than our booked table. Menus were presented and wine and food ordered without incident, All was looking good and we settled in to enjoy the first evening with our daughter for 6 months with interesting food in a lovely atmosphere. The waiter arrived with our wine and asked ”are WE all having a wine” .My first thought was was is he going to join us. Strange!! My answer was ”yes,of course ”. He then replied he would first need to see some ID for ”the young Lass” Our daughter is 28,educated, living with her partner and teaching at a International School in HK. SHe is not a underaged ”young lass”. Initially we all had a bit of giggle, but soon this was replaced with concern as our daughter had purposely decided to leave her purse with passport and all other cards etc back at the hotel as she was not expecting to need them. All she had was her phone and started to search her photos of any document that would confirm her DOB. The waiter said he would return when she has something to show and no wine until then. She even emailed her partner back in HK for him located any document with her age. In the meantime entrees had arrived, but these went somewhat unnoticed as the search for ID continued. Our waiter returned, and I explained the problem we were having. He was unmoved and announced it was his job to check any ID for any person who looks under 25. At this point my mood was darkening to match the wet and stormy conditions outside. I explained our daughter was 28, not 17, 18 or even 21,22 and the reasons why she had not any ID with her. She was out for dinner with her parents not nightclubbing with friends. At this point what should have occurred was for our over zealous waiter to refer the situation to his manager or shift supervisor to resolve as quite clearly any further engagement was not going anywhere. In fact that is what I was going to suggest when fortunately our daughter located a photo of her passport on her phone. Whilst this farce was being played out and our evening at risk of being derailedle by the extremely poor judgment and attitude of our waiter, the behaviour of drinkers in the bar come ”mosh pit” which our table In the restaurant overlooked was rapidly deteriorating. I certainly don't have any problem with people enjoying or how they otherwise behave in a bar/ entertainment venue, but do I really want to experience it up close at a fine dining restaurant at prices to match when enjoying at dinner with my family. No, and it was even more irritating given the absurdity of events we had just endured. Clearly there were no concerns regarding RSA as the revellers were well lubricated nor any visible presence of crowd control. The whole atmosphere was very distracting and totally at odds with expectations of dining at a destination restaurant. I have eaten in many Hotels/ Pubs etc and not experienced invasive behavior from other patrons as was the situation last Saturday night. We enjoyed our main course at Peter Kuruvita but given our experience would not return. Clearly Peter Kuruvita restaurant need a through overhaul of it management and staffing based on what we experience. As well not one member of staff acknowledged us on leaving.
We had an amazing dinner. Totally loved the Tomahawk, it was incredible! The service from Jesus (not sure how it's spelt) was first class. Equally amazing breakfast with great selection.
Service staff slow and not attentive. Food and ambience great. Perhaps just one night but we wont have another evening here to experience a different crew.
Fantastic meal. Love the Sri Lankan influences in the menu. Staff were very friendly and attentive
Fabulous food. The snapper curry is delicious ! Great service and lovely atmosphere
The food was great. The service was appalling. We poured our own wine and had to ask for cutlery. We told our fronds to book and felt bad about doing that. Shame We came previously and loved it. I would probably not recommend it or come again.
Excellent food (with a twist) and first class service by Lily who was both delightful and very knowledgeable!
Excellent food and service. Highly recommended.
Phenomenal experience. Cannot fault. Food, ambiance, service... everything was perfect. Thank you Noosa Beach House for a 5 star evening!
Your staff offered the best service we have experienced during our stay in Noosa. One of our party stated it was the best and most tasty food he has had in years.
The service was very good, staff were attentive and happy to answer questions about the menu and wine list. The flavour of the food (I had the Moreton bay bugs) was really full and fresh and my husband’s chicken dish was great too.
Not our favorite restaurant
Best restaurant in Noosa. The whole family enjoyed fabulous food & had a lovely night. Thank you.
Thank you for an a beautiful experience. The food waa amazing and generous in portion and flavours. The pork belly entree was a stand out for us, by far! Thank you again :)
Everything was exceptional can’t wait to do it again
Great wait staff. The food was magnificent.
Lovely food. Excellent service.
Fabulous restaurant! The food was amazing
We are Noosa residents, have been dining at Noosa Beach House since it opened, and have given very positive feedback in the past. However, on this occasion we were disappointed: - The service was poor. We waited far too long to even be given a drinks menu. Tables that arrived after us had drinks served before we were even given a menu. - We are not big eaters, but the entree with 3 or 4 thumbnail sized pieces of calamari was just too mean. - One main course arrived cold and one was barely warm. - The tables are too close together. The back of my chair was bumped several times by passing waiters and guests and we could overahear conversations on adjoining tables.
Thank you for a wonderful afternoon would totally recommend to all my clients and friends
