Fabulous meal tonight. We both had a fillet steak, which was delicious. It came with leek dauphinois and baby courgette, which was a nice change from the run of the mill veg. Great value with the’Eat out to help out’ scheme. Highly recommend.
we really loved our visit yesterday (Sunday) Food was very good and the location/facilities are great. Only grumble is that the service was quite slow and we were not asked for a drink order on arrival for some time. Also we struggled a bit for a table for 6 especially outside. We asked a female member of staff if we could move 2 tables together in the front as there were umbrellas , but she said no.But overall very enjoyable and we would like to return. Maybe with an overnight stay.
marvellous. lovely place to enjoy at any time.
We really enjoyed our meal! My friend is vegan and had plenty of choice from the menu. Covid 19 social distancing was adhered to, with us able to sit at the same table, yet not directly opposite each other. A very pleasant smelling hand sanitiser was also provided on the table. Service was quick and the food well presented, delicious and hot! Our waitress Elle was polite and friendly; a great ambassador for the Pear Tree! Would definitely recommend.
Amazing food and brilliant atmosphere, had a really lovely evening.
Beautiful setting and good menu choice. The only reason for the 4 star service rating is because we were taken to our table and 25 minutes later hadn't even had our drink order taken. Eventually the waitress took our order but only because I made her aware we had been waiting for a long time, it felt like we had been forgotten.
Unfortunately, we experienced poor service. Not only did we have a longer than necessary wait when we arrived but we sat for fifteen minutes at our table without anyone coming to take an order for drinks, or food. Eventually, I had to ask a passing member of staff if we could place our order. The majority of the meal was, as always, very good. Unfortunately, the chips appear to have been boiled in oil rather than fried, which made them soggy and not crisp. Social distancing measures were excellent and we felt completely confident that all necessary procedures were in place. The atmosphere at The Pear Tree is always good. We did raise our concerns on the day of our visit and were responded to in a timely fashion. I do feel that our experience should not have been compromised because staff were dealing with other customers elsewhere - that should not become our problem. Our booking was made in advance, so the restaurant were aware that we we would be arriving for dinner at a pre-arranged time.
That was the best meal I have had for a long while and my family enjoyed it all look forward to visit again soon
First time here four of us had lunch and we all agreed what an amazing place both in the restaurant and beautiful gardens could not fault anything will definately be back.
Had a lovely meal in beautiful surroundings
Stunning place, very well organised, friendly staff and amazing food. What more could you want.
Lovely pub, amazing food and very friendly staff
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at The Pear Tree. Everyone was welcoming and friendly. The evening meal and brealfast were both delicious and we look forward to visitng again!
I have already recommended you to a couple of my friends after enjoying a fabulous meal. Apart from the one way system and masks it felt like a normal night out which is a big achievement 👍😁
Once again, a fantastic meal. Thank you.
Had a wonderful evening and the food was delicious, waiting time was alittle more than expected but wasn’t rushed I guess, and the food was certainly worth the wait staff were lovely and couldn’t do enough for you along with the covid rules being fully in place.
Really enjoyed being back at the Pear Tree
The Pear Tree is such a beautiful pub, with such a personalized interior. It's always a great experience to come and visit. The food and staff were great on our latest visit, the twice cooked chicken dish was awesome. For lunch I would say that a 45 - 50 minute wait for the food was a little bit too long, other than that everything was perfect. Regards, Scott
Amazing, as always!
Crab was fantastic Excellent have booked again
Beautiful food as always and the atmosphere was just as nice as it was before changes and restrictions. Vegetarian Main choices are very limited though, only two choices compared to Many meat options. A surprise these days when many are vege and vegan. Would be nice if the Pear tree could do a vege burger now and then..
Lovely food and plenty of it . Waitress was lovely and friendly. Very relaxing setting . Would say it was slightly overpriced compared to other places in the area but that said we couldn’t fault it at all .
Fantastic service and fantastic food.
Very welcoming and a lovely setting, food was delicious and really fresh. £120.00 for lunch but we did have 2 bottles of a very nice English wine.
Fabulous food and friendly staff in a beautiful setting
